Nelsonian
That sucks to hear your still in waiting mode. I am sold on the Saturn/Chevy electric power steering path and there is a discussion in this link with regards to it. http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/125428-electric-power-steering-100-1500/
Fauxre
Wow! Thanks for the link. Save me a ton of time in R&D.

Fauxre
If you'd like to save even more time: http://www.silverminemotors.com/datsun/datsun-240z/power-steering-kit-electric This would save a lot of time... but at nine times the cost of my current plan, it's too rich for my blood. This guy covers even more options for EPS units which do not require a third party wiring harness. However, the other donor vehicles are too new for me to find at my local Pick N Pull. I don't know how much other wreckers might charge for these units. https://youtu.be/f4TYQ_KJSpc
Fauxre
Picked up permits yesterday !!!!YeeeHaaww!!!!Now to see if any of the contractors I've previously contacted are available to do the work.
Fauxre
I though I was being flippant with that last remark. As it turned out only one of the concrete contractors, that had previously bid the project, even bothered to respond with their availability. One out of eight! I am however, very pleased with who I ended up using. Instead of questioning the over engineered nature of my plans (like most of the others did), he and his two sons simply built a massively strong foundation. Waiting now for our nephew, who's a general contractor, to create a materials list from my plans, so I can price the lumber. Fauxre
Lumber arrived last Friday. Now if it would just stop raining long enough for me to do some framing.
Fauxre
With the help of my nephew, I was able to build and erect these two 12' wall sections on Saturday before the rain started. Two more days of rain, then at least a week of dry weather ahead. Hoping for some major progress.

Fauxre
My first inspection went well. Only a couple of corrections needed. Add a few brackets to the shear walls and blocking. And add one concrete anchor. Inspector said he'd sign those off at the next inspection and gave the go ahead to install the roof and rough electrical. Took this pic this morning. With the roof and gutters installed, I'll be mounting electrical boxes and running wire soon. And I have a guy lined up to do all the stucco to match the house. Fauxre
So, after digging a trench 24" deep and 120' long and laying 2" conduit containing my electrical service line..... ...I was able to do this... ...and finally, some of this. Doing a little finish work inside while waiting for my stucco guy to get back to me. Garage doors are also on the "ToDo" list.
