  1. We made 394 without the exhaust that we put on. No voided warranty here. The best part about the Cobra is how easy it is to make power. Hopefully, we'll have the dyno charts for around 500HP. That's with all bolt-ons with the exception of a ported Eaton blower (its the same blower as stock, except its ported)
  2. Honestly, I don't think you can attack terrorism head on. It's just not something you can do. A war on terrorism is a paradox in itself. People should be really looking into what makes these "terrorists" tick. Even then, you can attack the word terrorist. If bombing innocent people makes you one (which I very much think it does), then Clinton shouldv'e been tried and convicted many times over. The same things goes many times over for organizations and groups that our government supports. Look at the Iran-Contra affair and many others. First step to stopping terrorism is to quit supporting tyrannical regimes. Step two is to really try and find what makes these people tick. Find the root of the problem and kill it there. I believe it is more than just being evil. Propaganda and lack of knowledge may have a major part. Just think about it.
  3. I apologize...I was thinking of the Oklahoma bombing. I didn't start paying much attention to this stuff until a few years ago (I just recently was able to vote). I cite the Orwell, because I personally believe the themes are very important. when talking about too much governmental control over its citizens. During Franklin's time, people had to deal with a much more direct threat. Many probably had British military stationed within their home at one time or another. They understood that the erosion of freedoms was the erosion of a free and liberal society. That is your choice to disclose your information and keep your TS clearance though. Personally, I don't want the government to be going through my personal information without them a) notifying me and b)obtaining the proper warrant(s). I believe there is something in the Constitution about obtaining warrants and such. The reason I bring up the brothel, is because there was so much effort put into so such a small thing, which to me, is a joke in itself. Had some of the resources been shifted to finding out why these immigrants where wondering how to fly, but not how to land, things may have been prevented. And, when looking to why these people are flying planes into our buildings, shouldn't the government be looking at its own foreign policies. I don't mean to be an a** when I post responses like the ones I have, but I do it to learn. I like to know why people think and believe the way they do. The only way to find out why, is to challenge. I think we, as citizens should be able to own any sort of gun, short of fully automatic weapons. Anything else should be fine. Instead of trying to ban weapons, why not teach the responsibilities of owning a firearm. I know the NRA does, but sometimes I think there is a little too much money involved in their agenda.
  4. Mike, you know that while a few non citizen Arabs who were floating around flight schools asking how to fly a plane, but not how to take off or land, the FBI was busy busting 12 hookers. It was thought to be the biggest FBI raid within the last 10 years. I'm not completely sure on the facts, but I pretty sure they were more worried about raiding a brothel instead of asking why these non-citizens only wanted to learn how to fly instead of taking off or landing. As for the Patriot Act, and the split up Patriot Act 2, I'm pretty sure you wouldn't want some agent running through your financial files on a whim or your internet files. I understand that if you've done nothing wrong than you shouldn't have to worry, right? I don't think anyone wants live in that fear. Again, George Orwell's http://1984 some of the most interesting reading on the subject (albeit fictional, but the themes are there). I'll cite Mr. Franklin's thoughts on this topic, "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty or safety." (He, George Washington, etc. where all labeled as terrorists by the British government. Not to say what happened wasn't wrong, I'm not implying that those who flew the planes were not terrorists, but that word can easliy be thrown around, just as communist was during the Cold War) Being free and unafraid of government repurcussions (spelling?) are essential to a properly running free democracy or republic in America's case. Being able to better track immigrants into the country is one thing, but to throw our own citizens in jail indefinitely without legal representation is just assenine. If you are labeled an enemy of the state during wartime, which is now, you can be placed in jail for any length of time without any legal representation. Hell...knowing what is going on with our rights, I could be labeled an enemy. If I disapear from the board, who knows. Maybe the feds have me locked up somewhere. We have now re-entered the McCarthy era. Scary, isn't it? http://historymatters.gmu.edu/d/6456/ (And it's even more ironic, because Russia was not anywhere near communist. It was tyranny disguised as one.) I found another few from Mr. Franklin "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote." and "Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become more corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters." and lastly "Whoever would overthrow the liberty of a nation must begin by subduing the freeness of speech." Here's a site with many more inspirational words from Mr. Franklin: http://www.mises.org/fullstory.asp?control=1144
  5. I'd take the 10 point with some removable/swing-out side bars. Pretty awesome for the price.
  6. I'm interested Hopefully I'll have some money after tax returns to cover it. Mike Kelly's stuff went quicker than I could afford. Keep up the good work. For the disbelievers: If you don't think it's not safe, then don't buy it. I've seen far too many OEM parts fail, especially when they're 30 years old.
  7. I don't know if any of you have seen some of previous posts on my Honda or mom's Cobra (or even care for that matter ), but I've got a little bit of an update. I managed to get the Honda running, well...sort of. It has a really big miss above 2000RPM and will not shut off - I get to pull the coil lead and shock myself . I had to basically rewire a bunch of stuff to the ECU to accomodate the ECU, so I'm sure I screwed something up somewhere. I'm thinking I crossed a wire and ran something from the alternator into a main relay input on the ECU, so it stays on when I turn the car off. I'm not sure about the miss, but I think I screwed up a wire from the distributor somewhere. As for the Cobra, we are getting ready to complete the horsepower mods. Everything so far has been bolt ons - headers, intake, exhaust, and reflashed chip via a Predator. Well...my dad just put an order in today for an Apten ported Eaton blower (same Eaton blower, or rather Heaton as I like to call it, but with ported inlet and outlet), along with a pulley or two, and the Apten head coolant mod (we've already had to replace our left side head, under warranty of course, because their is no coolant outlet on the back of the driver side head). We have a new Predator on the way- with proper support this time - and a custom tune to be done on the 14th. I'm hoping that this will put the car over the 500 mark on both torque and HP. Oh, and I forgot to mention that we have a big Accufab throttle body ready to go on if we decide that we want to. I've taken some vids of doing the engine swap and some of the Cobra, but haven't got my website up to host them (That's if my ISP will allow me enough room). The sooner I get my Honda and my mom's Cobra done, the sooner I get to start tearing apart my Z
  8. I thought you were talking about HP. Mom's Cobra will hopefully be hitting that point in a few weeks
  9. I think a lot of you have misinterpreted the reason why we have the right to bare arms. It's not so much to protect yourself from the criminal stealing something of yours (although it would be helpful), but to protect yourself from a tyrannical and unlawful government - much of which has occured under our current presidential adminstration. The blatant erosion of the Bill of Rights under the Patriot Act and Patriot Act 2 (which has been split up and made into rider bills which are attatched to many budget type bills that will pass). As bad as Bill Clinton and his administration was for their lobbying of anti-gun legislation the same holds true for Bush and what he has done to our rights (which is directly related to our right to arm). I leave you with a quote from our current president: "Freedom should be limited," George W. Bush
  10. Please don't post those pictures. There are gross human rights violations occuring in that area and they are not just commited by the Palistinians.
  11. That really sux man. If you do get the car back, which you should, have you ever heard of LoJack? It's a satellite tracking system, except you can get it with a early warning system. If you are not within 15 ft of your car (done via a wireless key ring type thing) and it begins to move, you will receive a call on your cell phone immediately. I'm really sorry to hear that it happened to you, and hopefully the person (or people) that stole the car will be found and punished - along with finding your car in one piece.
  12. Not to burst your bubble, but there is absolutely no way that you will gain 250HP from a pulley. I hope you're talking about going from an NA Cobra motor to a fully setup blown Cobra motor with a pulley. It depends on the boost level and what else has been done to the car, but a pulley on the Eaton blower can give you 20 to 50HP maybe. It all depends though. If you want 250HP, then you'll need a Kenne Bell Blowzilla supercharger running at 21PSI (which it can do on pump gas ). We are having a custom tune done on the 13th of Feb., so we can see how much power we can get out of the motor with just bolt ons. No pulley or anything. (Since the dyno we have added a Magnaflow exhaust).
  13. I should put my turbo honda motor in one of those. My hatch is pretty light and handles pretty well, but can't match the Mini.
  14. A relative of mine was kinda in the same situation. Except it wasn't just legal porn some of the bosses were looking at. My relative would log onto a IRL site every once and a while to find a little racing info on his lunch. Of course, internet for personal use was against policy, so my relative was also in the wrong. Anyway, someone brought up the kiddie porn thing and what boss was looking at it. The head guy had the whole department audited and my relative lost his job (I believe he was one of the ones who brought up the illegal porn thing). The boss that was looking at the disgusting kiddie stuff is still at the company, because of his "good-standing" reputation with the head of the department. Just be careful
  15. We have an old F100 with the twin I-beam suspension. We're going to keep it all Ford I thnk. 5.4 quad cam V8
  16. Mazdaspeed actually makes a body kit that looks very good on the RX8 IMO. I'll see if I can find it, but it sure gives it a new look. The RX-7 and the new Miata are both on the way. The MX-5 Miata and FD RX7 chassis' were considered some of the best ever made, until the new RX8 chassis came along. It will share its design with both the new Miata and RX7 (which should be turbo ). Awesome car though. 3 rotors are awesome, and so much more with a good turbo.
  17. I meant live action Akira. They've been working out scripts and stuff for a long time. If it does ever show up on screen, it better be good. I forgot Snatch too. Oh...what about the new Italian Job (never saw the old one), Gone in 60 Seconds (purely for the GT500), any of the Matrix movies, Happy Gilmore, and one more that I can't think of at the moment?
  18. How can you guys forget these: Fight Club, Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, Forrest Gump, Finding Nemo, Predator series, Alien series, and a few others that I can't think of. For the anime fans you have to have Princess Monoke, Ghost in the Shell, and Akira (soon they will have the live version with real people )
  19. Randy, would you mind if I bugged you about what's required to get a JDM swap in a Civic smog legal. I don't know if that's crossing ethical boundaries or requires you to say anything to the state or not if I ask.
  20. How many immigrants are up in that area? Fortunately, and unfortunately, here in California we're in grand supply. I heard some mention of manual labor. Plus...you do a few on the weekends here and there, start to build a customer base, and when the time come to just do the detailing, you're ready to go.
  21. If you can detail well, there's some money to be had. I have a friend that used to charge $200 for a full detail job. He would do about 4 cars a weekend for a total of 16 man hours. Not bad when he was just doing it himself.
