  1. If it doesn't work out for the first two, let me know. My girlfriend is in serious need of a vehicle (she's broke just like me), and it would be way better if it is a Z.
  2. Couple of things. First, what makes you think that they would EVER lower the price? Reminds me of the water conservation BS in SoCal about 10 years ago. I remember my dad talking about it as they rolled out the plan. Conserve water for 2 months, then they would lower your bill if you conserved enough. He called it right. A couple months after the conservation period, the water company sent letters to everyone saying that they had done SUCH A GOOD JOB CONSERVING that the water company couldn't make any money, so they needed to HIKE UP the prices. BS!!! Is OPEC going to drop prices on oil? I doubt it... "The power to tax is the power to destroy" is a Thomas Jefferson quote. Who would the higher gas price going to affect anyway. Not rich people. Not people who can afford to go buy a new hybrid car. No, it will be everyone else. I understand taxes on gas to fix roads, but even there I have problems (15 Caltrans workers watching one guy fill a pothole). Biodiesel looks like a good alternative. Too bad CA made it ILLEGAL to make biodiesel yourself. So you're still stuck buying it from retail sources, and you gotta wonder how long until they start taxing the hell out of that. If they come out with a better alternative to gas, I'll be on board. Until then, I'd appreciate not being taxed up the @ss... Hating the gas prices now, expecting to be infuriated in a year or so, Jon I think I remember that to make biodiesel, you must use a very deadly chemical type to complete the reaction.
  3. I was just posting what I saw from another site. Thought it would be interesting. A strike would really have to go three or more days to make a noticable hit, but to make a difference in the long run, you are right. Shift lower and get rid of the heavy foot (kinda hard to do ).
  4. Hopefully I'll be seeing you around at Sears Point.

  6. Damn. I wish I could make it, but I have something else planned that involves cars. Something, if it happens, that you will all be very interested in. That's great news on the car though. When I saw it last, it was very, very nice.
  7. Those motors don't actually fail as much as you'd think with out the block gaurd. I have one that has been ragged on a road course with over 300HP and never had a problem
  8. When are you heading down? I smell road trip Where are you staying?
  9. Do you remember what color the Cobra was?
  10. Sorry for the highjack, but if those PBR's are sealed, I'm sold
  11. Sounds like he had an X-pipe. If it was really loud, probably a Bassani off-road X or something of the sort. Mean sounding exhausts. That's really, really awesome though. I'll try and find out if he's on the svtperformance, modularfords, or svtsnake boards and see what he has done to the car.
  12. That's really awesome. He may have had a pully and a few other minor mods. How loud was the blower? If the damn thing really screamed, he probably had a 2.80" or 2.93" upper pulley. Sure makes the car haul ass. Watch out for those Kenne Bell or Procharged Cobras though. They start at the 600RWHP range and just keep going from there.
  13. Wiring and wiring ends? They have good Monster Cable crimp and twist on connectors.
  14. I'd wait another week or two, then take it up with your credit card company. IMO, they shouldn't charge the card until the products are there and waiting to ship.
  15. Just checking, because we just got ours. Wanted to make sure you didn't have one and something went wrong with it
  16. Why not just add the comforts you're looking for. Vintage AC, aftermarket cruise control and all the extras that you want. Would probably be much cheaper than trying to sell the beast and try to redesign everything again on a newer car.
  17. I'm glad to hear that he'll have a car and a way to get around. I hope this isn't in bad taste, but are you still going to try and make it out to NorCal with Pete?
  18. I know my dad would be really pissed if I did that to my new motor in my Honda. I'd be walking until I could pay for another. I actually have a loan for mine. Dad fronted the money and then the a loan from the credit union to pay him. Sorry to hear about this stroke of bad luck. Always has to get worse before its gets better for some reason.
  19. Original Mortal Kombat blood code? That Bimmer thing is cool though.
  20. That is so unbelievably awesome, words don't even explain it.
  21. Oh...I just figured out why it hasn't been all that quick when shifting into third. I've been in and out of traction control the whole time. Just not hard enough for it nose dive like it did tonight. I still remember my mom saying this "I was driving home today and this green snail kept flashing on and off on the dash. I pulled over to see if anything was wrong, so I called you (me at the time). I had the gas pushed down and the car wasn't going anywhere and the green light was flashing the whole time. Is there something wrong with the car?" :burnout: I had to explain to her that the green snail looking thing was the car telling her it was the traction control coming on to keep her from spinning the tires. Boy did I get a laugh out of that one. I'm actually still laughing about that one
  22. Most impressive is my mom's Cobra. I haven't had a chance to drive much else. Its fun when you're in 2nd at 50 and the rear end steps out so hard that the traction control can't even keep up. Thing gets squirlly in 3rd at 80 too. I just opened it up again today on this really long off ramp. Jumped into 3rd and let her rip. Went into fourth, looked down, and I was already doing 130 and going. You do get used to the power though. You keep wanting more and more. Close second is my friends TT Supra, or used to be. When he still had the stock twins on, it was pretty impressive, but now its probably pushing some good numbers. Some of you have been very lucky to get to feel that much power in a few of those cars. I've been in an NSX, but not a 911. Maybe someday.
