  1. If you have the money, I'd definitely look at a Pro 5.0 shifter. It made a world of difference on our T56. It's like a totally new tranny.
  2. My plans have not been foiled.
  3. I would love to see some pics of this. I have big plans for a Northstar, but won't have the money to do it until I'm out of college. The big 5000 lb. Caddy that my grandfather really lifts it nose and goes when the pedal goes to the floor. Imagine that in a Z.
  4. This is what I've gathered for info so far. You have single-directional (uni-directional) and cross weave (bi-directional). As I understand it, the uni-directional makes for good painted panels, because it doesn't make for waviness in the paint. The bi-directional is good for clear resins, as it looks good in a diagonal patern, but it's also stronger. The opposing weave gives it strength all over. If you really want some good strong panels, then a hybrid carbon-kevlar weave is the way to go. Problem is the color. It's usually has a gold component, because of the Kevlar. Resins are extremely important, because they help to dictate the properties of the final product. There are way too many out there to really explain them all. Best is to visit TAP Plastics or other store that deals with composites and fiberglass, and have them explain things to you. It really helps.
  5. We are going to have ours dyno'ed sometime in Nov. We have a Densecharger intake, headers, and hopefully a retuned chip with Diablo Sports Predator. I'll let you know what numbers we pull up.
  6. My biggest point with Davis is that a lot of the problems have had very little to do with him or the state government. There were some problems that could easily be tracked to Davis, but many other were beyond him or anyone's control for that matter. We'll see what Arnold does. He does have business experience, but he only promised change, not a hint at how he was going to do it. Don't be suprised if you see taxes go up, as they did under Reagan (even though most of his campaign stated he wanted to lower them). Oh...I also suggest looking at Davis' first term before the economy went bust, 9-11 happened, and a few other things. Not too many people had a problem with him then from what I recall (no pun intended 8) )
  7. Phantom makes a good point. Those guys are taking an interest in there cars. Many of the guys on here and many other forums cited examples in the muscle car era where they made their 6 cylinder ride look and sound like a high powered V8 dragger.
  8. Welp...It looks like Arnold has it. Now its time to wait and see. Arnold has promised much, we'll have to see what happens. He's said very little on what he wants to do, so it is a big gamble. I just hope that none of you voted for him, because he was in "Terminator."
  9. No on recall and for Camejo (also a very savy businessman).
  10. Maybe we'll get more than 50% of the people out there to vote. I hope most aren't just going for Arnold, because he was a movie star, but as sad as that is, most will.
  11. I may actually be down in the area with a Ford event. I'm going to Santa Barbara for Halloween, then heading on down to LA with the rest of the group I think.
  12. As it has been explained to me, anything 65 and older is smog exempt. Meaning that pretty much anything goes. 66 to 73 are not exempt, but do not need to be inspected. Basically, just don't get caught by the smog people with a gross polluting Z. They don't check, so you shouldn't have a problem.
  13. Best exhaust I've ever heard was on the Primadonna Z that showed up at the kit car meet a few years ago. The thing was a beast. For those of you that don't know what car I'm talking about, here it is: http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=58
  14. I've always wanted to do this with a big V8, so I can follow the straight piped Harley guys home and wake them up at 3AM.
  15. The car is looking good though. Sorry to hear about the rear panel. Hope the paint comes out to your liking.
  16. We'll have to see how it does against the Cobra at my house. Do you think you'll have the car done before we get the Kenne Bell in two years or no?
  17. He has a perfect record. He keeps his word. I still like Camejo. He's really the only one with a detailed plan to fix the budget. Here's the link: http://www.sacbee.com/content/politics/recall/story/7315647p-8260062c.html Hopefully everyone votes though. I'm fed up with the turn-out. Its just stupid that so few people vote. The apathy is pathetic. Then they all do is complain. Anywho, we also need a movement for Instant Runoff voting. It's really a neat system that allows you to rate the candidates in a number system. If the number 1 guy has no possibility of winning, then your vote goes to next the person, and so on, until it counts. You could vote for a third party candidate without having to worry about a Republican beating a Democrat, or vice versa, because you didn't vote for one.
  18. AGREED! I cant believe the nonsense I heard last night. Bustamante was saying that they should be able to get a drivers license because "anyone who works hard' date=' and pays their taxes should have a right to have a drivers license so they can get to work, and take their kids to school or the doctor" Hello! What tax do they pay? Sales tax? Surely not income tax, they dont have a SSN! And WHAT! There's nothing wrong with us paying taxes to put their kids through school and give them medical coverage?? OMG, what kind of twisted logic is that?! BTW, as a note on that, it has been stated for YEARS that a drivers license is a privelege, not a right. If a drivers license ever becomes a right in California I am going to be the first one to move to safer grounds! And I agree, Amen to JON! I just about died laughing the other day when I saw four road-workers operating a TAPE MEASURE![/quote'] I don't think the issue is with the hard working illegal, but more with the safety of others, because these people are going to drive regardless. Actually, I heard a laywer argue it may be a right to drive. You have freedoms in this country and one is to transport yourself from place to place. Have a drivers license only pays for municipalities. To be honest, our license program is a joke anyways. Just look at how many poor drivers are out there. Anyway, just an interesting way to look at things (Really just arguing that one for the sake of arguing.) I do agree with the Caltrans crap. My friends and I always joke about that when were working on our cars, because its always one person doing the work while the rest sit around and watch.
