  1. If you are shooting for 300rwhp you it problaly wont matter much.
  2. So I will through this out there, mind you I'am still learning myself, consitrate on the exught side for getting the best bang for your buck. From what I've learning is that any restirictiveness from the manifold to the turbo lowers avalible power, AND ANY restivitivness in the exught after the turbo back logs the whole system. You can have a ausome intake and a 2in down pipe and 2in exught and the intake is worthless (knida). You have a stock intake and 3in from the turbo all the way back will yeild far better power output.
  3. Wow this site never lets me down. Thanks Jtmny!
  4. I have not posted yet because I just felt soo bad for you. Good luck in getting that fixed soon and thanks for bringing in a new member:)
  5. Might of been the driver, but it seems like he was haveing problems keeping that z in a slide.
  6. I wonder how thin the water passages are??
  7. No problem, getting it perfect for heavy application might be a bit difficult, well maby not. I might need to read up some more on this subject. I too have done many of 2 fire tire on an open, and have read up on the subject of balence in order to tracktion both tires in a irs. Let us know how it goes!
  8. Tell us what your goals are for you car. You have been given an extream amount of insight, with out further knowlage your question becomes......... well lets just say "old". (information is there in the search function)
  9. I believe in Spokane Wa. you can not park you car for no more than 24hrs on public right away. I do believe there is notice given before towing.
  10. You beat me to to that Nigel ^^. The nice thing is that if you are very equal in the rear end, alinement, tire pressure, etc, you can get traction out of both tires often, in a straight line. This is why some people thing they have a lsd that really do not.
  11. Ouch, sorry to see that. Per chance did this happen while "dropping" the clutch?
  12. That was the most, not just stock I assume. Thanks!
  13. Nigel's comments are FAR better than mine. He has the highest problablity of being correct!! Peace.
  14. Holy smokes! Braap thankyou for such a great write up! Ummm.... can't think of any other way to say thankyou for such a lifetime of experience,,,,..... Oh well. Unick, Braab has given you a ton of insight. Now don't forget one very valuable piece, (I was even suprised, because this has been asked elsewhere), the information you seeked was within the search function. I know there is a ton on porting and matching in that search button. Have fun!
  15. If your looking for a little bit more of horse power (10) np. Unick seems to get a tiny bit more. The computer systems are very antiqued, the pc you have posted with is a ummmm I dont know, maby a BILLON times more powerfull. (That is if you are useing a 486). The Z engine is very strong, it will endure alot of low hp, untuned abuse. You want to get serious, 250 and above hp???? Then start the research, your tipical L28 will laugh at 350hp DONE CORRECTLY!! I think you will be quite plesed with just efi system in its current state.
  16. From what I've read so far, you don't want the lifters especially if you want a longer rpm range. It seems that they can not keep up and can cause a possible floating situation. You are lucky that you have that head. It is a soild lifter. Now I will throw a little some thing out there for you, I've never heard of the orginial auto being worth a poop. So why not keep a manuel for just the fun factor??
  17. Did any one mention "herbie". At least the new one had one in it during the crash up derbie. I have kids,,,,,.....
  18. Would be kinda cool to see a stock l28 dynoed and tuned through the afm.
  19. I'am going to hazard a guess. Nissian did not "neck" down the turbo manifold, so forced induction you problaly want to trust there engineering and not use the necked down one.
  20. Cjames have you gaped the rings properly? I do not know the spec but it is really inportant.
  21. Even seems to be correct. Studing this abit there is a ball, spring loaded, that sits against a shift fork that keeps the gear engaged. From what I have found out so far is that the spring can break, be soft (because of age), and form a grove in the shift fork. Will inquire more if you need.
