  1. Nope just springs and struts. Will be switching to coilovers soon!
  2. 60mm Defi oil/water temp. Moroso switches/starter button. HKS EBC/Turbo timer. Kenwood deck. Temp plastic. CF to come. Same layout. Simple/functional.
  3. Dale - The car has been awesome! I sold my S2000 in December and have been putting a lot of time and money into the Z (long overdue). We are doing an 8pt cage this week - then addressing some minor heat related issues - but overall mechanically its been great! Next step is suspension/fuel cell/brakes. Not sure if I'm going to go 5 lug or not..? Last is paint and body. I am taking pictures of everything so I'll make a build thread. I want to have it finished by the end of the summer! If you're ever in Tampa you're more than welcome to take it out anytime.
  4. Yes... "Siri - text soandso" Send.
  5. 15x7 0 offset Konig Rewinds on Nitto NT01s, 225/45/15s.
  6. so this past weekend I went with the Tampa NASIOC group to the Dragon this weekend. For those that don't know the Dragon is one of the best roads in America. 318 turns in 11 miles - NC/Tenn border. Absolutely NUTS and a ton of fun! Car ran like a champ (L28ET@15psi) - Nitto NT01s were amazing in the wet and ridiculous in the dry! Didn't have my rollcage in time but its going back to the shop this week for that and more. Please excuse the sloppy exterior and Krylon hood art - eventually it'll be prettied up. Function>form. Anyway, thoroughly recommended trip to anyone that's into driving. Was awesome making memories with the Z and makes me feel much better dumping seemingly endless amounts of time and money into it. It all comes together on a great day with great roads! I'm still looking through pictures to see which ones I want to order. I am going to have one blown up and framed with my ticket on RT129 (54/30) Fontana Dam Village Resort (great stay!) And now driving the Dragon! (Yes I had to buy motorcycle gloves - need to order some cool oldschool leather driving gloves to fit the look!) LOL
  7. I have a 100% crack free, VERY nice 240Z dash sitting in my closet. I have it listed for sale but maybe we can work something out? I am open to trades (looking for OEM fenders, G nose, rare/cool wheels, whatever). Just LMK. http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/105099-mint-240z-dashboard-1500-central-fl/page__p__983359__hl__dashboard__fromsearch__1#entry983359
  8. Yea it is.. I barely looked at it - that body kit is disgusting!! Celica headlights are a very popular headlight conversion - 2G MR2s look nice with them.
  9. Um... The S130 pictured has Celica headlights just like the MR2 below it..
  10. Looks like someone here had the idea 6 years ago... Before the Cuba/Versa were even sold in the US. http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/46634-nissan-bringing-back-the-datsun-name/page__p__397597__hl__%2Bdatsun+%2Bcube__fromsearch__1#entry397597
  11. This is a great thread (although I'm truly sorry for the OPs terrible luck!) I have my Z insured through USAA - full coverage, $0 deductibles. I briefly asked awhile back about what would happen in the event it were totaled, stolen - what's the payout, etc. They said they'd approach it (at the time) as any other '71 240Z. However, if I had receipts for things and documentation of it being installed on the car - I'd get a percentage back on that as well. Since it's probably fairly worth 5-7K, I was ok with that. However, the car is in the shop right now receiving a ton of stuff (8pt cage, Bride seats, Defi gauges, HKS electronics, rewiring the entire car, etc). We're talking an easy 6K+ just in PARTS - no labor. That said - I have thought about going the collecter/classic insurance route - but most all seem to have A: Mileage restrictions and B: required they be garage kept. I live in an urban area and the car is parked on the street.. so that's a no go. Do you guys have any suggestions? This is probably one of the most relevant threads on HybridZ as we're all in similar situations - throwing a lot of money at cars big insurance companies consider practically worthless.
  12. Man.. That looks fantastic! I can't wait to do mine!
  13. BWAHAHAHA.. What is that?! It looks like its made of play dough!
  14. Paint job looks good but that color scheme is horrible. Two tone lime green and black? Redneck/Ghetto all over. Looked much better white - regardless of paint condition.
  15. Updates on this epic thread? Did you finish it? Finish school?
  16. I'd like to see carbon kevlar parts for the S30. Hood/ZG flares/spoiler. Also, you guys should start offering some different "universal" S30 parts - Diffusors, gauge holder (custom center stack to replace OEM HVAC/Radio/etc), etc. I love the look on my Brides! These are for the S30 - would love some matching parts.
  17. Bride makes rails for the s30. They run around 200 each.
  18. Could you please post pics of your setup(s)? Sounds exactly like what Im looking for. Also, what harnesses are you using? I cannot believe how expensive these things are.. $400 for Takatas.. and they have an expiration date? UGh. LOL
  19. The car is going to be a street/highway car but it needs to be functional if I decide to do entry level stuff like autocross/etc. Got my BRIDEs today!! I do at least want a rollbar (if for nothing other than aesthetics) - but I'd prefer a 6 or 8 point cage with a useable seatbelt/harness setup. Suggestions?
  20. I was just thinking the same thing. The S2000 has sweet pedal covers..
  21. I figured the first big thing I'd take on with my Datsun would be the interior/safety. The thought of running around in a 40 year old car that weighs less than a Miata and has zero safety features doesn't thrill me. I have been doing a lot of reading and come to the conclusion that one of two approches should be taken when it comes to safety - Stock or all out. In my case, since my Z has low quality cheapo seats I figured the first logical step was to replace them with quality parts. I decided to go with Bride Stradias (authentic, not replicas). So while waiting on them the next question is the seatbelt/harness and roll cage/harness bar. I'm seeing that a 6pt harness, 3" belts and a cage are a must to avoid a host of problems encountered in a roll/collision. Thoughts? My car will be primarily used for street/autocross/etc - Nothing utterly hardcore. Should I be looking at running a harness setup (Takata, Sabelt, etc?) - 4 or 6? Or just mount standard retractable seat belts? I am going with a caged/gutted/purposeful look - no carpets, sound deadening, radio, HVAC, etc - so simplicity is key.
  22. I almost bought this car just for the G nose. I would have given you the car. Im glad to see its getting a new lease on life
  23. Looks good. I was thinking of ordering one of these.
  24. Take the drivetrain, seats and brakes and throw them in an S30.
