  1. you think a OE replacement filter for a 06 mustang would be ok? they are like $12 at auto parts store. cant go wrong with that.
  2. if someone were to upgrade the fuel lines, what size would be reccomended for under 400 hp?
  3. i didnt even think about the tie rods. i was fitting verything up and had my steering rack out and totally forgot. well thanks for all your input guys.
  4. johnc i am confused at what you mean...i think that the LCA will give further adjustment than the camber plates, so i figured limit out the camber plates and correct camber with the LCA... Also on the GC plates, the plate that the 4 bolts go in to hold the camber postion has 6 holes tapped. i have seen the 4 outside holes used, but can two of the bolts be placed in the middle set without any reliability issues?
  5. hey guys. i have the AZC LCA (adjustable camber) as well as the GC camber plates so if i just put the camber plates in the most positive camber position (toward the outside of the car) and adjusted the LCA for correct negative camber, it would widen the track of the car. does this have any real positive benefit or would it be detrimental to handling?
  6. os giken head...oh man oh man do i wish i could find one of those...
  7. when using the boost/CR calculator, when there is a higher VE, it says that more octane is required...why is that? i thought that the less efficient the engine is, the more octane is needed to prevent detonation...i guess i am 180* in the wrong direction, since the calculator says differently. So what can i use to lower the VE? (jus kidding!!)
  8. head work, turbo, and standalone...bingo... (thats all you had to say nismo! lol)
  9. i wish...pretty shure they are only in 15". i need some classics to fit on my wilwoods!!
  10. anyone have any links to the movies?? all the links in this thread (that I have tried) are already dead...
  11. did you want the orig. or real pics? I love this pic!
  12. cool thanks. I read (also a rough figure) that it should be between 45% and 75%. i dont know if that is way off, sounds like a really poor engine to me.
  13. Can anyone tell me "approx" what the stock volumetric efficiency of a L28et might be? ...trying to calculate the compression ratio under boost...if anyone could tell me that it might be much easier L28 N42 head and block (both stock) T3/To4E at 14 psi anything else y'all need???
  14. ok thats exactly what i wanted to know. i am using the car for 90% street and autoX, i really doubt i will ever do any track racing, thats why i went with the .63 A/R turbine for quick spool and more torque. top end HP is my last concern, compared to reliability of the engine and that much street use. the 14 psi boost will be my max, as my engine could not be able to handle much more than that combined with my total noob tuning skills. so if the turbo hits the surge limt for a split second while boosting x the amount i will be driving it, will this be damaging to the turbo in the long run?
  15. I am looking at the To4E 50 trim. i was using the 3000 rpm full boost (14 psi) as sort of a lower limit. is that not realistic? if i were to get an electronic boost controller, it would sort of stall full boost untill i wanted it or what? I have read the entire "Max boost" by corky bell...although it was a couple months ago. maybe i should refer back to it...
  16. Ok so I am reading up a lot on turbos and calculating the flow rate of my engine and the pressure ratio so I can read a compressor map. the problem i keep having is that when i hit full (planned) boost at around 3000 rpm, the point is almost always above the surge line. if i actually run a turbo with this compressor map, what will happen? will the point just follow the surge line until it reaches the desired pressure?
  17. would you reccommend using thinner lash pads or adjusting the rocker arm pivot (dont know what thats called) to cheat the wipe?
  18. me too...are the ATI dampers good for the $$? they have multiple sizes for the L28 and different grooves (different number of belts i assume). if you were to go with a size smaller than the stock pulley it would improve water flow and alt. energy right?? or will that just f**K everything up?
  19. to let you in on a little secret... Jim Cook Racing says they can get you the stroker kit...might wanna give 'em a call...
  20. thanks and you answered my question within the first lines. i know what the ecu does and my question should have been is runnign rich an acceptable way of reducing detonation. and the answer is no...but... what if im too poor to get the optimal head work/custom pistons will it work for now?
  21. you could make a custom shroud out of some sheet metal to incorporate all 16 inches. that would probobly be your best option...
  22. so can a large i/c, megasquirt, and big injectors "safely" overcome poor quench?
  23. just switch to the MS MAP sensor and all will be well ... I assume the engineers at nissan put there for a reason. if you have a A/F gauge and can monitor correct mixture then go for it...but then again i am not an engineer...
  24. it still is measuring the amount af air that is going into your engine. the turbo does not add air, just changes the pressure, temp, etc.
