  1. we (well I) was talking about the stock N42 cam. I am trying to get the car running b4 xmas and didnt want to have the head taken to the shop for a month if the stock will work okay. im not lookin for peak power yet
  2. I agree that some people just might want a turbo L6 just for the sake of beating a vette with a 6-banger
  3. as for the cam is concerned, what is the general concensus regarding the performance of the stock N42/N42 and stock cam for a turbo application?
  4. i remember i saw one of those celicas a long time ago with a 13B rotary swap at the Irwindale drags...ive really liked them ever since.
  5. OMG I jsut went down to his shop and picked out my i/c and piping. pretty good quality stuff and the price cant be beat! http://www.cxracing.com/ okay this needs to be modified a little but you get the idea.
  6. i just posted on that thread lol. Janspeed had a setup on a Jaguar that used the Freon.
  7. the new audi's have a dual intercooler setup...so it cant be that bad of an idea!
  8. I was reading Turbochargers by Hugh MacInnes and I saw a picture that reminded me of this thread. "Janspeed intercooler uses air-conditioning system to cool intake charge on this Jaguar. Valves control Freon flow from air-conditioning system through an evaporator core inside the intercooler." (pg. 92) thats all they said about the subject, just one picture. might look to Janspeed fro more info on it if anyone was interested.
  9. mencia =constipated or just ate some bad p*ssy?
  10. if you look at summit racing they have many types of masters, even the small wilwood (and many other brands) masters in anywhere from .5" to 1.25" bore
  11. does anyone know if he ever made the CF center console for the S30?
  12. i would stringly reccomend getting a relay board also. I am installing into a 72 and didnt want to do all the relays and everything myself.
  13. i asked this question before and didnt get an answer, maybe its such a dumb question ppl didnt want to bother... will isopropyl (sp?) or rubbing alcohol work similar to methanol? i have access to DRUMS of the stuff so that would be awesome if it would work as well...
  14. i am also seriously considering doing a water or meth injection, but what are the makor differences btwn the two? will you gain more from straight meth injection vs H2O horsepower wise or will it just allow you to run more boost (which i know will incrase horsepower lol)?
  15. im sure getting it set up is one thing, getting it running halfway decent is quite another...
  16. if anyone is interested, (dont know how this applies to the ITB intake), the book Optimizing Your Ignition by Dr. Christopher A. Jacobs (the Dr. Jacobs from Jacobs Electronics) shows how to dyno your own car using a stopwatch and a pad of paper. and if your measurements are accurate, the dyno is accurate to 2%!! now how to get quarter mile times out of the weight of the car and horsepower...
  17. as for those of you who have spent some time in japan, owning a car (not to mention a classic car) is very expensive, prohibitively enough to most. but those who can afford to have a classic Z like that have more than enough money to throw at it. thats just my take on it...
  18. i cheated my way thru highschool physics so if you could enlighten us... what are the calculations everyone is using for getting HP out of quarter-mile/eighth-mile times and weight of the car?
  19. with the turbo timer the engine is still running so the water pump is still moving water so it will work the same way.
  20. i will be eagerly looking for the writeup on the solid lifter conversion. are you going to be using the timeserts?
  21. over the last couple months i think ive taken off manifolds off of atleast 5 heads. i just used the long and short extension for the 3/8 drive and i now have partly memorized the bolt pattern down there lol. btw...do you have to get those thick ass washers from nissan?
  22. Damn Sven, you might want to check a few of your unread private messages lol!
  23. guys, they already have a timer to cool things down. just get a turbo timer and have the fan run whilst the timer is counting down. i think it would be cheaper than an electric h2o pump and would work the same way?
