  1. he said hes tired of it being sooo much faster, i guess he just wants to keep up for a bit longer... you dont need an EBC if your trying to save $$...MBC work well too, just dont allow for gain adjustment etc...
  2. damn..haha well thank you, i guess i dont need 460 hp...yet
  3. so i was trying to piece together a alky injection system cause i dont want to have to buy race gas, and the highest octane we get is 91 ... will a stock 280zx fuel pump be able to pump alcohol? also, will isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) work like methanol (methyl alcohol?) would alky/H2O mix be much better than straight H2O? my thinking is this: hobbs switch (pressure switch) set for like 14 psi to turn on the fuel pump (alky pump in this case) which will squirt into the intake piping just before the throttle body? Thanks for bearing with me, trying to learn about these systems!
  4. I ordered the T3/T04E 50 trim, .62 a/r turbine.
  5. I got my T3/T04E and TiAL WG and BOV from cheapturbos.com...good prices and free shipping! whats the diff btwn mine and your turbo?
  6. other z ppl have said bad things about the centerforce...said they would prefer ACT or if you have the $$$ Spec.
  7. i think it really dpends on your motor. the banshee is a 2 cyl and while one cyl is on tyhe compression stroke the other cyl is on the intake stroke (kinda), alowwing all the air to go into one cyl, bypassing th eother. if it were on a 1 cyl like almost any other 2 stroke quad, engine the airflow would have to stop and start and stop and so on...a continual BOV might be able to be used to bleed off the boost when the reed valves are closed...interesting tho... i always had a fleeting dream of turboing my 250 suzuki, but never really looked into it. the banshees alreay had a tight powerband, esp. with toomeys and mikuni carbs, i cant imagine what it would be like when it was boosted.
  8. omg some ppl here need to take thier foil hats off and let the guy ask some questions...isnt that why the internet and THIS COUNTRY is so great...FREEDOM OF SPEECH???? not bashing anyone, just speculating... what about that emp generator in ocean's eleven, was that fictitios or could it be possible? i know nothing about the subject matter, just curious... have anyone heard of the "anarchist's cookbook?" there are more than few "recipies" for creating an EMP DISCLIAMER: if anyone objects my questions regarding such events that migh happen regarding EMP's, please delete my post. I DONT WANT TO BE BANNED FROM THIS SITE! Thanks
  9. a lot of ppl go with an aftermarket pp and the stock disk (or vise versa) to cut costs....thats what im gonna go with. if you get an aftermarket pp and disk then you could stick with the 225mm setup (depending on your hp level). there have been a couple good threads regarding clutch choices...
  10. those pilot bushings are in there pretty tight (they should be pressed in) so unless the tolerance btwn the ID of the bearing and the OD of the tool is extremely close, the grease will just squish out the sides. if its loose then it might work...the easiest way is to get a slide tool at the auto store. they come with bearing puller attachments
  11. did you mean oil pump shaft? i thought thats what we were talking about...
  12. thats the regulator in front of the fuel rail correct? if so then it seems to me that it cannot get higher than the base fuel pressure, bc pressure cannot build in the system btwn the reg and the pump...just speculating...
  13. my father and i have registered 3 72 240Z's in california and none required smog to get the sticker so you should be fine! if it has smog stuff, make sure the orig engine was not replaced with a L28 (which does have lots of smog crap on the intake manifold) like ALL THREE of ours were.
  14. that was kinda harsh but he said "no offense..."
  15. hey BRAAP, you sell those mounting brackets?
  16. those are just the studs for the intake/exhuast side right? i am currently disassebling my 83 ZXT and all those are bolts, not studs like the other heads i have dissassebled. would it be best to get new studs or bolts that came with it origionally? or were they replaced by the p/o?
  17. i got my Howe unit from summitracing $200 shipped...they have many for universal applications at good prices! make sure whatever you get is all aluminum, not epoyied. happy shopping!
  18. calculate cfm flows from both engines and that should give you a comparison. the claculations are in the turbo sticky somewhere...
  19. the best advice anyone gave me was in one little smiley...
  20. well....... i was in the process of gathering all of the necessary EDIS parts and while i was going from junkyard to junkyard i came across an 83 ZXT for $500. so i guess im going to stick with that dizzy for now... now i gotta do all the research for doing that setup...sheesh...lol. any pointers from the pros?
  21. so wheeeerrrrreeee is this yard? hook a brutha up! i am staying in walnut most days...close enough?
