  1. It looks like a Hybrid Porche/S2000
  2. Wish me luck guys. I recently received a job offer that I'm very interested in. It would require moving to Charleston, SC, but getting out of Jacksonville, NC would be great so that's not a big issue. I'm just hoping they offer up enough money so I can make the move and keep my house here as a rental property. Thanks.
  3. You'll get more hp out of the other two swaps, but if you're looking to stay with the inline 6 Rebello is an excelent way to go.
  4. I doubt it. Currently the 350Z is broken up into: 350Z - Base Model Enthusiast - Upgraded rear, TCS and comfort options Touring - Lots of creature comforts and options Track - Better braking, aero dynamics and handling Grand Touring - Combo of Touring and Track Given the sub-type breakdown Nissan already has I doubt they'll have a 350ZX.
  5. Sounds like a clogged idle jet. Something stopped allowing the fuel through the idle jet in the proper amount therefore it would idle lean and then not idle at all because there's not enough fuel. Pulling the choke helps because you're cutting down the amount of air and allowing the fuel air to balance out. I had this problem with my riding mower earlier this summer. I know there's more to a Z carb, but the principle is the same.
  6. No cheap way to make power in an NA. Mill the head for high compression and run high octane gas. Get a 260Z cam to breath better. That's the cheapest way.
  7. I paid $10.54 for the last one I bought off eBay, but I had to pick it up.
  8. Maybe they fixed it, but I know it use to be.
  9. The TEC should be able to accept any input from the O2 by changing it in the software. Download the latest control program for it from their website and check it out. I'm sure it's changeable.
  10. Not that I recall. All connections and joints should be tight with no play. Isolate the source and replace the part.
  11. Wow an administrator that helps make the search function easier to use...Maybe you could teach the guys at zcar a thing or two. Or maybe everyone at zcar just needs to come over here.
  12. I don't trust haynes for anything. I know the firing order is wrong in Haynes.
  13. Interesting. So whoever bought my car originally didn't opt for the rack-and-pinion steering. Damn them...oh well.
  14. Seems like a lot of work to go to an inferior system if someone changed it. I wonder why they would have made them different for other areas? There has to be something more on this subject. The carfiche.com site shows both, Power, and Rack and Pinion Power, steering systems, but of course there's no explanation of each.
  15. My 81 ZX NA has drag link steering, I think that what it's called. Every other ZX I've seen has rack and pinion steering. My buddies 83 has rack and pinion, the parts car I pulled my transmission from has rack and pinion, etc... The 81 parts car was a 3/81 and mine is a 7/81 (which you would think would make it an 82, but it's not). Why doesn't it have rack and pinion? My 79 Fairlady is the sme as my 81, but it's a 79 and I would expect that. I'm confused.
  16. Are you at TDC in that pic? I could have sworn number one was angled more to the drivers side front.
  17. :GolfClap: Bravo Tony, excelent sources. Looks like I have some reading to do today...lol
  18. I think you broke some ring lands for some reason or another.
  19. Ahhhhhhh! Killeen! Oh God no. I was stationed there for 4.5 years. I cringe to think about that place.
  20. Wow, that's odd. It must have been a weak spot in the gasket. Maybe it got creased in shipping or something. Anyhow, the intake/exhaust gasket isn't all that difficult to replace. I did the one on my ZX in about 2 hours with the thermostat and a few new hoses. A metal one should hold up much much better.
  21. Number 6 intake or exhaust? If the intake I would venture a guess that you pre-fired due to being lean at some point and it blew out that way. If you haven't done so already, get a manifold stud kit from pallnet. It will make a huge difference in ease of install and strength. I'm using a paper gasket like the bottom one in your pic and it's still going strong.
  22. That sucks. I don't think I've ever had an intake gasket blow out that quick before. But, as Z Cars go, if it's not one thing it's another.
  23. Probably did make it slower as the ECU doesn't know when to increase fuel or decrease fuel. Right now with no TPS reading the ECU thinks it's in cruise mode constantly leaving you rich at idle (sluggish off the start) and lean at WOT (might stutter in higher RPMS).
  24. Really? That's odd. Learn something new everyday I guess.
  25. The TPS is shorting between the contacts. Sometimes you can pull the black outer cover and it could have moisture or something else in the bridging them.
