  1. You can buy just the spacers from JTR for $20 and $25. IIRC the motor mounts are from a 1985 chevy but the JTR manual will tell you for sure.
  2. That is a good deal but remember the LT1 uses different headers than an old school SBC. LT1 has angled plugs and "D" ports. JTR also sells Sandersons for the LT1. Motor mounts and setbacks are the same.
  3. I have a SBC conversion and 17x8 wheels with 225/50 tires....and I'm old, LOL. I have a Grant 14" steering wheel and the only time its an issue trying to turn it when the car is sitting still.
  4. I would also recommend paying the $40 for Earl's gaskets. They are virtually leak proof. I have over 20K miles on mine, no leaks, never had to retighten a bolt.
  5. If you have a 94-96 Camaro pan there is no problem at all. As far as your header question, the stock Camaro manifolds will not work. I used Sanderson block huggers from JTR, make sure you get the ones designed for the LT1. They sit close to the steering shaft but work fine. I put some heat tape on the pipe that runs under the starter to help prevent starter heat soak. Using a high torque starter also helps.
  6. That might work drilling sounds a little scary though. Another idea is the use JB to attach some nuts and then screw in the studs using loc-tite. But I don't think there is a lot of room for thickness there. I know every time I have taken the vents off my car I was very careful about not over tightening the nuts when I put them back on.
  7. Not the hood vent studs but I've had good success using regular JB Weld to fix plastic stuff. I glued one of my door lock buttons back together with it, its held up great for several months of use. Let it set up for a few days before applying any stress to it.
  8. I've used POR-15 on several projects with great results. Not cheap but its amazingly durable and you can paint with a paint brush without leaving brush marks. POR-15 Summit Racing also sells it.
  9. I am running 94 Camaro Z28 horns I pulled from my original donor car. I am also running the Z28 chassis wiring harness which uses a relay in the horn circuit. I don't know how much current these horns draw but they are much louder than the stock horns were.
  10. I talked to someone at Caffeine and Octane in Atlanta last month that said he got his from the Nissan dealer. I think he said he paid $130, but I could be wrong on that price.
  11. I used 3M 08116 panel adhesive to glue my flares and side skirts. I am very happy with the results. You will need a duel caulking gun which is about $70 but it mixes the stuff as it comes out so you know its mixed right. 08116 has a fairly long setup time so you have time to adjust if you need to. You probably want to get some extra nozzles for it too since you can't reused them.
  12. Looks to me like you have the right pulley. I don't know what the part number I have for the pulley, got it off Ebay and it has the small pulley. I have about an inch of clearance. Are you sure you are putting it on right? That red emblem should be on the outside of the engine block toward the frame.
  13. My worst, or at least most painful, involved cutting an unwanted bracket from under the car with an angle grinder. I had safety glasses on but not a full face shield. Apparently I stick my tongue out when doing somewhat precision work. A hot spark found its way to the tip of my tongue! The pain on my tongue was unbelievable. I could barely eat for three days. Next time....full face shield for sure!!!! Sorry no picture.
  14. POR-15 makes a topcoat POR-15 topcoat
  15. RB240zDET's post below yours is what I sent him. I got my paint from PPG.
  16. I got mine from Safelight, they actually had it and the gasket in stock, installed the next day.
  17. I painted my modified '77 280Z Corvette Cyber Grey Metallic. Here is a short (20MB) video taken at a car show.
  18. Look on Ebay for 280ZX master cylinder there are a ton of them listed.
  19. I used DAS When I bought my Z. I had it shipped to Georgia from Idaho.

    r200 axle Q

Just line them up, pull back a little and shove them as hard as you can, they will snap in. Make sure you have the correct axel for each side or they won't snap in.
  21. Do any of you have any experience with Techno Toys version of these? Techno Toys
  22. Yep that's it. BTW I am running a 1310 u-joint NOT the 1320 as I stated above.
  23. When I switched to the 300ZX CLSD I already had the JTR adapter installed on my driveshaft. So I used the 280Z R200 pinion flange on the CLSD. I am running a modified LT1/4L60E connected to the diff with a shortened Z28 driveshaft and 1320 u-joint. JTR does make an adapter to fit the 300zx inplut flange if you want to go that way.
  24. Clean the battery terminals and cable connectors well and reattach them. Corrosion will cause that exact issue. Also inspect the cables for broken insulation. Make sure your starter has a good, clean ground.
