  2. Ohhhh.. So you mean as "addition" to it rather then the "instead of". Sounded like you meant that was the only means of cooling. Donna
  3. Instead of??? Wow that's a new one. Donna

    3.70 LSD question

Does this apply to the ZX's too? Donna
  5. James, What about the Web's 155A? (CL moved to 110.5) Right now Dave Robello is talking with Isky, and we (TimO and I) have Reed is working on configurations also. I know TimZ likes his Isky and you are happy with your's from Web. Decisions, decisions........ Are we having fun yet? Come on Guys us fellow Z'rs need more info TimO....Are you going to speak up here? Donna
  6. Diesel rods are 140mm, 240Z's are 133's Randy you have mail Donna

Well come to think of it he was banned several of times on another forum. Even the very same post above was delete over there just today. It's just one of the "proving games" I guess. OH Well....Wasted space Donna
  10. Randy, I can get you the paint code on Monday If you need I can mixed you up a batch too. Donna
  11. I would have to agree with Dan on this one. Especially after seeing it in person while at Blackhawk Museum. SWEET car, but then I like long nosed, fastback looking cars. Donna Jag's too
  12. Is there any of you ZXr's running TWM's individual throttle bodies? I am looking to see if your brake heat shield had enough room with this set-up. I can't check right now, she's currently without her motor. I have been prepping the engine bay for new paint for the last couple of days. I left the two screw holes on the strut tower untouched while welding up all the unnecessary holes from previous bolt on stuff that's no longer needed. Were you able to keep the stock location or did this have to be modified? To fill or not to weld up....Hmmmmmm Donna Donna
  13. I did the same thing awhile ago, even open up as Jeff mentioned to butt match turbo. But this time I sent mine on out. Just to make sure it gets the opened up flow even better. What's being done is... He welds more material then ports to have uniform thickness through out the exhaust manifold. From what I understand, you have got to be careful of thinning out some areas. It is fun porting, I must admit Donna
  14. I cap plated mine off. Actually Randy 77zt made it for me, and what a nice job he did Boobala, the Electromotive aka: TEC is also distributor less. Not sure about the "Others" Sooo.. Ron I saw your distributor was on tonight, Are you going to make a plate or plug it? Donna
  15. Great night! Nice to see everyone again! We even got to meet new fellow Zr's Dan... What happened to you? I looked, but didn't see ya. LighteningZ, I left a message on your cell and look for you too before heading on out. Jumbo240Z... I like the way your eyes lighted up when I mentioned a "track meet in Sac" LOL. Ron, keep up the good work and I'll keep you posted on my ZXT Donna
  16. Which off ramp would that be off of Hwy 4? Dan & Ron... Would you two like to meet on the corner on Hwy 12 & 160? My side of the river next Rio Vista bridge? LighteningZ would you like to meet up @ Hwy 5 & 12? (Saddle City)BTW, very nice to meet you too, For that matter any of you other Stockton Zr's!!! Randy 77zt where have you been? Donna Donna
  17. Thank-you TimZ. Now maybe some people will realize why I don't post much and have been a silent reader. When they do see my ZXT in person and come to realize that I have done 99% of my own work. I do enjoy it then.) Donna Opps aka: Turbo Guy that does housework first then goes plays on Z's http://zdriver.com/rides/detailride.php?cat=2&relIdx=6&vehId=843
  18. Ooopps.. excuse me 30 PSI of boost I meant, sorry. Donna
  19. So Jeff... Which configurations are you going to use? It sounded like you had already made up your mind on your turbo. (62-1 w/.82A/R) I do hope you take James advice on the T66 v's the 62-1. While enjoying good conversation and a yummie BBQ, plus, of course talking "TurboZ's" with TimO. I told him how my question to "you" wasn't answered. (my builder tells me exactly what the CFM's,PSI Sweet spot, and efficiency level of%) So, he broke out the compressor maps, and showed me in black & white. If you want your turbo to make enough cfm to support 600 hp the 62-1 will not work!!!!! Its not even close. Look at the numbers on the compressor map. 70 lbs per hr flow, or approx 1,000 cfm can not be made by the 62-1. Well actually they can but at something less than 55%(or even less) efficiency. Those numbers are out of reach for the 62-1. They are not even within any of the efficiency ranges shown on the map, including the lowest. Looks like the T66 will get the air flow you are looking for at a decent efficiency of at least 70 lb/hr at 74% efficiency..... TimZ & James along with TimO. They are 100% right. CFM & Efficiency % Also, when determining your target cfm don't forget to consider the low ve of these engines. If you don't, I'm afraid you will be disappointed. Your head work I can understand, What are you going to do about your rings running @ 35PSI of boost??? Good luck and keep us posted Jeff PS...Thank-you all for sharing your knowledge so that we can better understand this go fast stuff Zoom Zoom Donna
  20. Jeff, I'm curious.... What is your CFM target and at what PSI do you expect your turbo to reach that CFM and at what compressor efficiency level of % ? Donna
  21. Soooo.... When's the get together??? Donna
  22. Big toys for big boys...... OK you guys...real men (and women) don't mess with small turbos, they go for the real thing...check out : http://www.users.bigpond.com/jon-paterson/Turbo%201.jpg
  23. Okay... I have been very quiet and following this this thread, but I must tell you all. I love all of your inputs of ideas!!! I find this to be very interesting to a point that while driving a round trip of 4 1/2 hours yesterday on the freeways, all I was doing was looking at tail lamps and picturing them rotated a little more this way..Hmmmm... what about switching them from right to left. What I found even more fun was how they look from daylight to having them turned on at night, even from a distance behind to catching up for a better look. I even got caught checking out tail lamps while doing estimates at work. My boss walked up from behind me and said, "I thought that car only had front end damages?" Opps... lol "I must have clicked on wrong set of lamps" I said to him with a smile on my face. Keep your ideas a coming! Donna PS.. Eric, Hehe your 100% right! Sweet Talk always did work for me! lol
  24. This sounds great and all. But for me it would have to made exactly as the stock unit. Joel, I didn't know you had to shave yours. I didn't but then my trigger wheel mounts in front of my harmonic balancer and pully. I did have a machined billet aluminum insert made so I was able to keep my A/C. What about using the harmonic balancer that actually came with these diesel cranks? This would be defeating the idea of a lighter unit. Due to they might be a little bit heavier, perhaps a bit bigger??? But, then maybe we wouldn't have the problems as we do running with the stock Z unit with the diesel crank not being able to last a long time due to the vibrations. Me... personally, I would rather have longevity then trying to gain every once of HP from my engine. But then I'm always open for new ideas Donna I miss my ZXT
  25. Congrats Jeff! Yahoo Donna
