  1. In the mean time I finally got the motor parts all back together. Still have to plumb the turbo and set up my external waste gate.
  2. On the tow truck to paint and body (July 19, 2010)
  3. Just got my car back from paint and body right before xmas and wanted to share a couple photos with everyone. Going to get all the trim back on here soon and start on the suspension (5 lug swap, coilovers, and powder coat everything)
  4. As djz pointed out you might need to rethink your front end. You will have tons of positive camber even with the coilovers maxed out. I have some angled maxima ball joints that I could sell you that would correct your problem fairly easily. PM me if you are interested.
  5. I'd like to know this myself. Thanks, Lindsey
  6. Do you have any other info on the s13 solid bushings? what all did you do to get them to fit? Thanks, and looking good. Lindsey
  7. Where are you in ATL? Any pictures of the Z?
  8. Again, Frank, any pictures of this? Seems fairly straight forward other than the extensions to the a arms. Thanks, Lindsey
  9. I got mine done at Carrol's in Athens GA. Jam up job and they have tons of experience. Rebuilding my buddies SR20det from the ground up. It was putting down 450 to the wheels before the tear down. They did my head work. Port and polish and bigger valves and port matching. I used Chics machine shop in Marietta GA (if that's closer to you) before. Just don't plan on any head work from them. They are strictly cleaning/boring/honing. I've never been to Sunbelt but I have heard nothing but good things. Let us know what you do so we can keep a database going. Good luck and keep us updated.
  10. Does anyone know the backspacing by chance (F & R) Also, SlownRusty do you have any pictures of your fitment in the rear. Thanks, -Lindsey
  11. What I've been noticing is that you will have to have longer control arms, tie rods, and tc rods. Then you will have to use a maxima ball joint or something comparable to get the angle of the spindle correct. This is all I've been reading. Too many people just try and do it the easy way and realize that they can not get correct camber. Most of them end up with positive camber by the end of it. If anything you want negative so you can have some adjustability there. Why else would you want to upgrade to coilovers if you can not use the full range of them? Just what I've been reading over the last couple of weeks. I've kind of given up on it and am thinking about using some z31 hubs to convert over onto our spindles and weld in some threaded sleeves for the coilovers to thread down into. There's a guy in the vendor forum that builds them for the s30's and am trying to get him to sell just the fronts to the s130 guys. http://www.zccjdm.com/ Check it out and read more into if you would like and decide for yourself which is the better way to go for your application. Thanks, Lindsey
  12. Can I bring this back up? djz: Wanting to know if you just used the 5 lug hubs and pressed them onto the s130 spindles? If you did what parts did you need to make this happen? Also, I am assuming you didn't have to extend your control arms to press in a 5 lug hub assembly onto your pre-existing spindles, correct? As far as the shocks/struts go in the front you could do like the S30 guys and cut them off and weld on whatever you want to (i.e. s13 coilovers). Last thing. What about the brakes? Did you have to create a spacer for them or what did you do to adapt them to your application? Thanks, Lindsey
  13. Would this be the same with the 280zx (s130)? I.E - could I swap in z31 hubs into my 280zx stock front spindles? Thanks, Lindsey
  14. Again back to this. I want to keep this thread open. I want to know what you all did to get those 5 lugs and s13 coilovers on you your S130. So far I've gotten extended control arms with maxima ball joints. But if you extend the control arm does that not mean that now you have to have long TC Rods as well. What about the swaybar? Anyone else tackled these questions yet? If so any pics or advice? Maybe we can explore what the s30 guys are doing and just weld on some s13 coilovers to the front since our rears are so similar. This way we do not have to mess with the control arms or tc rods. And from there use Pallnet's idea to get 5 lug hubs and bigger brakes. Ideas? Thoughts? Thanks again.
  15. Sounds good guys. I will check out that BBQ. I do not have plans as of today. And man do I love some good BBQ. Good to see some local Z guys on here. Hope to see you around. I live in Dawsonville and work in Gainesville.
  16. Again keep me up to date. I'd like to come down and talk to you and see your car once you get it back. I work in Gainesville so I'm just up the road from you. Good luck
  17. Where are all of you guys located in the ATL. I see one in Sugar hill. I meet a couple in Marietta and Woodstock. I would just like to get to know all the Atlanta Z's. Knowledge is power fellas and I could learn from all you guys that have modified there own Z's. My car is currently in paint and body but I am installing a Megasquirt system in mine and really don't know where to start on the tables (fuel or timing). Any and all info you've learned is helpful. Thanks, Lindsey
  18. BMAC: Keep us up to date. Maybe some pics would be nice. I'm getting my car back from the paint and body guy here within the next month and have about the same parts you do going into mine. So I'd like to see someones progress. Really interested in the Megasquirt install and chassis harness. Thanks, and good luck.
  19. my paypal is day1461@yahoo.com I can ship them out monday morning

  20. Love it. Very simple but super aggressive. Or something a little more hardcore.
  21. Any ZX's out there with 10" or more wide rims in the the rear? Great looking cars BTW
  22. Yeah OVENFOOD. I've been keeping up with your progress. Looks good, keep it up. Anyone else out there?
  23. Has anyone heard back from this guy about more pics or info on his mods. Good looking car. Interested.
  24. Does anyone have any pictures of a 10" or wider rim on the back of there 280zx. I'd love to see it. Thanks for the thread. Tons of useful stuff on here.
  25. Mighty maxx and Pontiac kidd: Love what you guys did with the coilovers and all. But now what are your options for 5 lug swaps? Just figured with 5 lug you would have more options for wheels and you could do a Z32 TT brake swap. Any ideas or thoughts on that?
