  1. You also forgot the 5 other people who would tell them to use the "Search" function first before posting a question.
  2. Isn't the 99 Cobra the model year that a lot of Ford owners got "pissed" off at because when they dynoed the car it came out with a way lower H.P. number? Then Ford claimed that it was some rough castings that were not removed in the cylinder heads but most of the buyers knew it was B.S., so eventually Ford switched it to the supercharged engine?
  3. You should buy that "STOP" sign arm that swings out and install it on the XB.
  4. The only thing that gets on my nerves is the "king" with the big head always grinning. We can never have enough of the "ladies with the nice caboose"
  5. Could you please explain what those little grey boxes that turn green later are all about?

  9. What SC457A said, i had a car worked on once and had the same symptoms. It revved all day but went no where. We checked the tranny, fluid, shifter, throttle cable adjustment and it turned out to be just the timing was retarded due to a loose locknut.
  10. Do the number of post still remain the same?
  11. Welcome Back! glad too hear that your back and that your dog remembers you.
  12. We used to buy Slick 50 before it got bought out by Quaker State i think and became main stream, it was a lot thicker before being bought out. We used it in our 78 Trans Am with 200K and on an 81 Buick Century which was used as a beater car. About a year after putting Slick 50 i was changing oil on the Buick and was wondering why only 3/4 of a quart came out, I knew my brother used it the night before and he drives like a nut. I asked him if the oil light ever came on or heard any knocking or weird noises and he said no. So i was like ???? maybe Slick protected it enough to where i could put in fresh oil. Two years later sold the car and heard it blew a motor half way thru Blithe California, so who knows. As far as Dura lube i think we used the tranny formula on the Trans Am because the guy at the Auto Zone couldn't find the price for it and said "here....go....free" and we were like ...ok..., all we wanted was a price check. Lo and behold the tranny had stopped slipping. Do i believe in them? ....well it didn't hurt.
  13. Not trying to change the subject here Owen but why are you selling your drivetrain? By the way try this link for the wheels. http://www.zoops.com/zoopseal.asp

    How much is to much?

My car was made 10/74 but it's a 280Z, technically it's a 75. But every time i brought it for State inspection they always classified it under 1974. And since in the old days in Texas state inspection all cars 75 and above required emissions testing i just let him test it as a 74. Who was i to argue with the inspector especially since the 74 and below inspections rates were $20 cheaper because it only needed a safety sticker. Oh and welcome to the board.
  15. We used to have one of those and an a 73 Opel Manta in the Philippines and liked it a lot. Nice shade of blue, ........and i hate you too.
  16. I see "pester" too, and an apparition of the Virgin Mary:mrgreen:
  17. Happy Chinese New Year!!! Oh, and happy Anniversary to Hybrid Z!
  18. I agree with Mikelly, we have a gun ban in the Phillippines and people still kill each other with ice picks, long screw drivers, razor blades, cinder blocks, machettes, etc. Gun bans dont work anyway because most bad guys already have guns, they are usually called ....the police. (corrupt S.O.B.s)
  19. There's nothing wrong with the tranny, they are just trying to sell me a flush job.The fluid is not even burnt, it's just regular old fluid and they said it's the mileage on it too. The reason i asked is because they got me wondering about it. Actually i looked in my owners manual and it recommends changing it at 100k "IF" the temperature reaches more than 90 a constantly, severe driving like taxi or police or dusty conditions. I think i'll just do the pan drop at a 100K. I have used Trans X on my 78 Trans Am with 200k on it and some of those old slick 50 stuff which amazingly enough worked.
  20. The only part of my car i always neglect is my transmission, after i had another part fixed today they recommended a tranny flush. I know they are just trying to sell me a tranny flush job for a $100 bucks but it got me curious. I have 85,000 miles on the car and i was just thinking of having the pan dropped and changed the filter and whatever fluid was lost. Can i get your opinions on flushing vs pan drop only. Thanks
  21. Well he ended the auction early i wonder why?
