  1. You could try it yourself by fabbing an ice jacket around your intake, maybe even filling it with dry ice pellets.
  2. Not supposed to post without KNOWING the answer, but since no one else has tried to point you in the right direction: If I were you, I would test the voltage regulator AFTER I pulled the alternator and had it tested at the local Kragan/Schucks/NAPA. You may want to have the battery tested, while you are at it, and since you will be down for a bit, put an ohm meter to the fusable links to make sure you didn't fry them.
  3. It's pretty much an adaptation of the ideal gas law, PV=nRT. Decrease the volume, keeping all else the same, lowers the temp. The same thing happens when I burn my weeds with the propane tank, the damn torch valve and wand freezes up!
  4. Man, they spelled the FIDDLE circuit wrong!
  5. I'm curious, did it get the inside, as well?
  6. I tried searching "rust removal by electrolysis"; "electrolysis" and "rust removal" and found nothing as specific as this: (Tthis link is to The Jalopy Journal, as referenced in a post by palosfv3) http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10461 This sounds like HybridZ material to me! I can only imagine the size of parts to be cleaned by members here!
  7. That SUX! I have a fender that's not perfect. A PO decided to use the bottom seam as a jack point.
  8. I'll throw mine in: I was in Gorman camping for the weekend with a girlfriend, and decided to check out a nearby lake. I was driving in a minivan, and almost to the ridge on a one-lane paved road was a pidgeon about 2 feet from the edge of the asphalt. Julie says, "You're gonna hit him, look out!" To which I reply, "It's a bird, it will fly way!" Bump, bump. In the rear view mirror it looked as if I shot a down pillow with a 12 guage! She was right. Stupid bird!
  9. Oooo this is getting interesting. What would happen if that "someone" took the VIN plates off, and sold THEM to another person to put on an entirely different car?? That one bakes my noodle.
  10. I specifically asked about the coating failing and either floating around in the tank, or effectively having a balloon in my tank. They told me that the VERY FIRST tank EVER coated by Red Coat in 1986 is STILL in service today in one of their company vehicles. I was told by the owner of the readiator shop that this stuff is formulated to withstand the ethanol, additives and gasoline over time. Lip service? Maybel. But at least I have a year warranty, something I wouldn't have if I did it my self. Heck, if it fails, then it would give me reason to go with a fuel cell.
  11. I researched getting Marine Clean, metal etch and POR 15 shipped to me, as well as boiling the tank locally. It would have cost more with the shipping than the $165 I was charged for the boil, clean and red coat sealer, warranteed for a year.
  12. That SUX. I know, 20/20 hindsight...e brake? It's a good thing you live in LA, there are TONS of P&Ps, and parts cars galore down there.
  13. Wow, that looks like a scene from "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou"!! Nice.
  14. If it's the stock L6, yup. it's normal.
  15. Option 1) WD-40 and a lighter. Option 2) carb/choke cleaner and a lighter. With both these options, it would behoove you to have the straw attached to the nozzle for increased accuracy. I have found that both these options work well for paper wasp nests as well.
  16. You do not "need" the vapor can. I have eliminated it from my 71, and built a "manifold" with all the vent lines running through it, with a main line connected to the filler tube. All's well. Anyone looking for a plastic vapor tank?
  17. I have a set of 4 of these SAME western wheels, with ALL 4 center caps on my 71. I'll make you guys a deal! I'll let em go to the first bidder over $600!!
  18. The plugs for the 77-78 bumper end caps work REALLY WELL for the floor pan drain holes. If you are running carbs, lawn mower throttle cable can be used instead of the choke cables. Not my idea, but black binder clips can be used to hold the shifter boot to the center console, and then the chrome levers removed. A 1/4" self-sticky rubber or felt "bumper" can be used on the glove-box lid to ensure the light turns off and doesn't drain your battery.
  19. Don't know the seller, just spreading the word. Butterscotch interior. http://sacramento.craigslist.org/car/652705982.html
  20. All I can do is shake my head... If that guy ever wonders why his life is so $hitty, he can console himself in the fact that this is why...
  21. Where are you located? I have a BUNCH of S30 parts...
  22. username = MatMan I was reading through the game's forum, and there are no NOOB or help threads. It would be nice to have a suggestion box where one could plead to have the Hide option reversed, a sort of "come out from hiding" option whenever.
  23. Somehow the first thing I did was hide. I can't do a damn thing until Sunday! I guess I will go back to THIS game:http://www.gameshot.org/?id=2415
  24. If you are talking about the rubber, I can't help you. But if you are talking about either the over rider bar, or the bumper guards, please PM me.
