  1. Wow! Thats farking awesome mate! Based on the size of the jump (8.0-7.8) it sounds like its got more in it if you could be bothered. Amazing. Dave
  2. Why would anyone do that? Looking forward to pics. Have you checked that they fit appropriately in 280z struts yet? Dave
  3. I can't find them on the SPL website, how much are they? Dave
  4. Maybe its worth a shot trying to help the air distribute more evenly amongst the groups of cylinders (1/2, 3/4, 5/6). Maybe you could play with some flat guides placed around the inlet, maybe as marked in red as in the pic below. I doubt they'll work to be honest, but I've always been curious. If they show any promise it might be worthwhile experimenting with various lengths and directions/shapes of the guides as well. Dave
  5. MonkeyT88, Cool. Whats the resolution on that? The reason I made the setup is for text real estate. It shits me not being able to see large amounts of code whilst developing. With this setup I get 3200x2400, which is enough for me atm. Dave
  6. Bit nerdy, but whatever. http://album.hybridz.org/showphoto.php?photo=23061&size=big&cat=500 I'm amazed how easy it was. A shitload of duct tape, an extra nvidia card, monitors, and 5 minutes with nvidia-settings: viola. Dave
  7. Cary, Wouldn't that mean to protect your head you'd have to be sitting upside down? Dave
  8. Hehe.. believe me I've considered it. I'm just finishing the suspension on my daily here, I'd love to bring it all back to play with on my project zed in Aus. Thing is, most of it'd fit, but the weight restrictions... come on United, its a freaking jet airplane, whats some struts?! Dave
  9. Lindsay, I'm Australian, living in Southern California. I'd be happy to help you out with postage work. I am coming back to Oz leaving So.Cal on Mar 25th. If there are small things you'd like to get I can bring them in my suitcase. Postage from Melbourne to Newcastle is likely less than from USA to Newcastle . Lemme know. Dave
  10. Streetfire hosts full length top gear episodes @ 60 minutes long. Dave
  11. http://www.motorsportfibreglass.com.au/ correct? Dave
  12. Great! Look forward to what you find out. I'd send you mine if they weren't welded to the struts. Dave
  13. blue72 is onto it. I would put money on vodaphone being the provider of the phone. And that its just a big advertisement. Regardless, very cool. Dave
  14. I thought it was cool at the first bit. The second bit is just freaking nuts! Thats awesome. Dave
  15. I wonder if this will work without further mods for those of us who have welded the female carrier onto the housing to fit the P30 damper? It would seem to be the case given this And the fact that the female carrier whose PN is lost somwhere in the preceeding 18 pages I think is M52x1.5 as well? Obviously a little more reaming out the inside of the carrier like this would be required: http://album.hybridz.org/data/500/medium/step14-file-out-carrier.jpg http://album.hybridz.org/data/500/medium/step14-damper-through-carrier.jpg Thoughts? Dave
  16. Sorry to hijack but, how do they handle? Do you have them on all four or just the rears? Dave
  17. I consider a dyno is a tool for tuning, not a tool for comparing horsepower figures. Especially if you're switching between two different makes. Apples and oranges really. Lets get this thread back on track with a clip of said engine making however much power it is @ 7000rpm please. FWIW, 231hp @ 7000 is 173ft/lb. According to wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_L_engine#L24E) a L24E will make 133 ft/lb dead stock. So one with better squish, much more compression, much better intakes and exhausts.. who knows? Dave
  18. Monzter, Thats cool. It seems that 99.9% of Ls I hear about (maybe I have my head in the sand) peak well before 7000. Do you have a specific link to the cam from MSA you use? When you say split duration, are you talking about the ``Stage VI'' or the ``Stage III'' (in/ex 304/318 and 270/280 respectively). Also my little engine calculator: http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/enginedesign/ indicates you're running about 10.6:1 static CR? Sound about right? Maybe I'm not looking hard enough, but I didn't see any CFD analysis on the existing intake in your album? Dave
  19. Mechanics: always the first to get their cawks in hand. Dave
  20. A mathematician, engineer, and a mechanic are sharing an apartment. One night a fire starts in the kitchen. The mathematician wakes up, goes to the kitchen, sees the tap, a glass and thinks ``That'll work'', then goes back to sleep. The engineer wakes up, goes to the kitchen, sees the tap, calculates the size of the glass required to put out the fire, adds 20% for safety, and goes back to sleep. The mechanic wakes up, sees the fire, runs over and pisses on it to put it out.
