  1. Seems like an awful lot of trouble for a small reward from a performance standpoint. A single turbo will give as much power as the stock block can handle with minimal lag, given the correct turbo is used. The build has shock factor tho. I'll give it that
  2. I disagree with Mike regarding "Spend the same money on parts for the GTO that you did on your SRT and you'll be better rewarded." I think that statement would work just fine with any OTHER 4cyl compact out there...except the SRT4. I also own one and have been knee deep in the SRT4 aftermarket industry for a few years now. They are extremely responsive to mods and the mods are cheap. Being based on a Neon seems to mandate that, luckily. A stock SRT4 will run low 14s with the average driver. With a mere $1000 in mods thrown at it..the car will run high 12s with traction(full exhaust, stage1, wastegate, decent tires). The stock Whp of the 04-05 SRT4 is about 235-240Whp. There are numerous aftermarket turbo kits that simply bolt on that will put the car well in excess of 400Whp...for a bit over $2000 for the turbo kit and basic supporting mods. Not to compare the Whp of the GTO vs. SRT4...but to compare the power to wieght ratios. An SRT4, wieghing a svelt 2850, with over 400Whp is an e-ticket ride for a 19,000 car and 'around' 2300 in mods. Even if the GTO makes enough power to outrun the little SRT4..you really cannot compensate for the half ton wieght difference. I also can't imagine what taking the extra 10k you'd spend on the GTO and putting it ALL into mods on the little neon. You'd have 450+ Whp (on pumpgas and stock internals), slot car handling , powerful brakes, we've only spent 5k so far...I mean you'd have to get creative to spend it all unless you went for the bling factor. I'm not saying the GTO is not a great car..or even a better car. To a majority of drivers the GTO would be far superior. The SRT4 is very raw and is purpose built. It is loud and rides stiff. Sacrifices almost all civility to be what it is. Where as the GTO cuddles is occupants with leather, power and vast options. It's a real nice place to be while on your way to a 13 second time slip. As nice as the GTO is, it doesnt hold a candle to the SRT4's bang for your buck when it comes to modifications (or purchase price). Jason
  3. That doesnt sound possible. 5240?? Maybe 4240 (still higher than actual i think) but 5240..cant believe it. My fullsize, kingcab, V8 F150 doesnt weight THAT much.
  4. very nice work! Car is turning out spectacular!
  5. I personally think they couldve done a LOT better. It's not so much the 4doors that bother me as much as its the looks. The nose is blunt and stands out. The rear looks like granpas sedan. The only thing that really looks good IMO are the headlights. I think they look menacing, although the rest of the pig-snout front end ruins them, i feel. The performance of the car is proving to be good. The torque is plentiful and the corning behavior is good for a car that size. The interior is quite roomy although dull. The chargers of yesteryear are mean looking cars. Some are argueably the meanest looking muscle cars ever built (68-69 for example). This new charger looks like a family sedan with out of proportion curves and a hemi. I was personally dissappointed in the car.
  6. edit: oops. Those are too big when linked to the forums. Check my website below. Car is nothing special All my more recent pics are GONE. I let my online photosite payment lapse

  11. Realizing I forgot to get my mail yesterday I went strolling out on a lazy Sunday morning to grab it. Much to my surprise there was a priority mail package waiting for me. Im thinkin "naw...couldnt be here that fast.." Well it WAS here that fast. I gotta say I absolutely LOVE the shirt. The logo is awesome and just the right size. The overall design is perfect I think. Not to plain, not to flashy. Shirt fits me perfectly also. I got the XL and im 6'3" and 230. Couldnt be happier. Well...it could be a little thicker material but Im not complaining. THANK YOU Tim for heading up this massive project and delivering a great shirt. Get to help Dan AND get a great shirt at the same time ...gotta love that! Jason
  12. Glad to hear your OK, dude. The thin skins of our cars always worry me in times like this. Luckily you werent seriously injured. The car is probably like one of the family for you as ours are to many of us, but, it can be replaced. Doesnt make it any easier to look at after this bullshyt, but you lived to build and race another day. More importantly you lived to see the ones that love you and be there for them. Best of luck on resolving the matters at hand and healing that back. DONT take your backpain lightly. Focus on correcting that before anything. Take care, Jason
  13. Dude pat yourself on the back for me. NICE WORK! You should be a proud pappa! Jason
  14. I've been an avid gamer for 20+ years (yea...im old). I did the console thing for many of those years starting on atari2600. I now play almost solely PC games. There will always be the PC vs Console argument. I speak from my own personal experience over the years and will give you MY honest opinion. In MY opinion.. PC games are far superior to any console games in depth, realism, variety, gameplay, game control, graphics and selection. Unlike a PC-You cant upgrade your PS2, just replace it. You cant download craploads of free game mods and even free games. You cannot get the same precise game control on any gamepad that can be had with a simple mouse or other available plug in controllers which include everything from full racing wheel setups to full fighter pilot controls with stick..and, no, console add-on controllers are not in the same league). No console to date offers near as good a multiplayer interface as PCs have for many years already. Now with cable and dsl connects being common..the online gameplay is just incredible. Sure a PC costs more then a console..but it also does a hell of alot more. The prices of quality gamer PC parts these days is so cheap that its not really an issue IMO. The higher price tag is FAR outweighed by the performance, game selection, graphics, versatility and so on. Just the opinion I personally ended up with after playing them all for so many years. I still play my PS occasionally and have played the new ones aswell. To me, Im not truly gaming unless its multiplayer on a PC against other dedicated dudes that want my head on a stick just as bad as I do theirs. You can keep that 'split screen', 4player stuff. I'll take my full 19" screen and high speed cable in a blistering 25+player round of shooting/racing anyday! Gamin_Jason
  15. I have yet to see this conversion, although I might have just missed it before. Thought my bretheren might like to see it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6396&item=2445898674 I'd imagine the 240SX chassis is much better both in rigity and handling prowess than our older Z's. Might be something to considere for some of you. Enjoy Jason
  16. Greetings Ross (if you see this) I've not heard back from you for a week or so. I emailed regarding buying the coilover package and other tidbits. I know its very possible you are out of town for Thanksgiving or the like. Just wanted to touch base if possible. Hope everythings OK. Jason
  17. Hell yea I got a wish list!!...why...you buyin??
  18. Mines been on jackstands for well over a year now. I may be "King Jackstand", although I doubt it. Pete is my hero, tho! When I loose patience with making zoom noises in the car late at night when the wifes asleep, I just think of Petes 10-year build. I tell ya, that man must have one HELL of a vocabulary of car sounds!! King Jackstand (til dethroned)
  19. Thx Ivan! What a show. I laughed! I cryed. Lifechanging really. The scooter guys got SKILLS. The "drifters" (donut patrol) looked so fun. Thats it...im going to work on the Z. Weee!!
