I just looked at Jegs and it's for 70-73 240Z, nothing listed for the 280Z except 2+2 I want one for a 75-76 280Z which is different from a 77-78280Z figures!

Thats the easy part, putting on the stainless steel trim onto the rubber before installing the glass is the hard part

You are correct, never try and put the trim on after installing the glass, the rubber is pinched and now the corners are not fitting right, as said earlier the trim serves more than one purpose. 2 hours to get the trim on the rubber after you already have the rubber on the glass, has to be an easier way or have some special tool to get the trim on without damaging the tiny rubber lips, Temporarily tape the rubber to the glass as it will keep falling off while trying to put the trim on. It only took 15 minutes to install onto the car, lots of lubricant of your choice and a good soaked rope

Bringing this thread back to life, too bad no one chimed in on the estimated costs for both designs. I am seeking a less expensive design than the MM/Joe"s mounts, see thread here: http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/117242-cv-half-shaft-swaps-in-2014-any-less-expensive-alternatives/ One that does not involve removing the big gland nut on the 280X stub axle and swapping out the companion flange for the MM one but a simple bolt in adaptor for the 300ZXT CV axles. it would be nice if it was thinner also

Correct me if I am wrong but off the top of my head the 280ZX are tripod CV joints (fewer ball bearings) than the 280ZXT and the 300ZXT CV joints the 280ZXT has 6 bolts, 3 sets of 2, the 280ZXT and 300ZCXT have 4 bolts evenly spaced correct?

Are there any drawings kicking around for the 300ZXT companion flange adaptor? I searched but couldn't find anything I have a access to a machinist who owes me a couple of favors…..Hmmmm

Let us know so the only expensive part now is the companion flange adaptor, I am sure the 90-92 Pathfinder axles are not that expensive…hopefully less than the $350 for the Joe axles I still wish there was a less expensive set of companion flange adaptors. I mean I know Joe is trying to do the Z community good but I can't afford $400 for adaptors

OK solutions submitted so far: 1. Buy WolfCreek complete kit for: $900 plus shipping 2. Buy somebodies companion flange adaptors and have Techno Toy rebuild your CV axles with shorter axles : $480 plus shipping for the rebuilt axles and $$$? for the adaptors. 3. Buy Chequered Flag companion flange adaptors for: $440 for either 300ZXT or 280ZXT 27 spline. and Buy Chequered Flag Joes custom axles for: $350 a pair. I think you have a valid point and are onto something there on Diff locations of the 280Z's (R180 VS R200 and 280Z mustache bar in 240/260 body with an R200 upgrade)

Well I went and tried the following seats for my 5'9" 232Lb frame and here are my impressions on the seats I was able to check out. Corbeau, the A4's were a little too tight for me and had poor padding, the LG1's were nice and fit well but probably too wide for the 280Z (I later got the bottom dimensions off a loose LG1 seat at Ron Millens, the very bottom is 18.25" and between the adjustable knobs is 20.5") The TRS just had the side bolsters way too high pushing my legs together a bit too tight making my voice a bit higher pitched LOL I would of like to tried out some of the newer Sport Line seats but nobody had them Sparco, the R100"s are what they are, A bit thin on the padding so I would think longer road trips would lead to a numb butt the Chrono Road were very comfortable and fit me well, I have to double check the dimension but I think they might fit. Recaro Speed was just too tight I went to Sube Sports, Werks II Motorsport, Ron Millen Motorsports, and Upgrade Motoring All were helpful but didn't have as many reclining seat as I had hoped for. Werks had the high pressure salesperson Upgrade Motoring was the most talkative and the person I talked to Glenn is a Z car guy and was very Knowledgable and talked about roll bars, tires, wheels etc suspension etc, He knows his stuff All the places except for Upgrade Motoring were quoting me MSRP, Upgrade Motoring was willing to give me a Z club discount at least.

I have been hoarding my 300ZXT half-shafts that came with my 88 R200CLSD in hopes of someday swapping out the U-Joint half-shafts in my V8 Powered and lowered 76 280Z. To cover all bases I also acquired a set of 280ZXT half-shafts. I started to research this as I was intending to do this swap but have not read or followed since the last time I researched this in 2007. I thought all I needed to buy would be a set of companion flange adaptors. Fast forward to 2014 I start reading as many posts as I can and discover all the posts about binding and needing custom shorter axles. MY question is there has to be a less expensive solution that is not going to cost over $700 for axles and flanges? I see the Flanges have doubled in price to $400+ and shorter axles are around that also!! I am glad I waited so I didn't kill myself with binding axles by just buying the flanges back in 2007 and doing the swap but I simply can't afford $800 to do a CV swap even $500 would be a stretch but doable I guess I know MM is no longer (Ross RIP we miss you) and Wolf Creek and Checkered Flag are the costly alternatives I Know J Mortenson stopped his Axle deals and that Joe Siam (Checkered flag) is trying to get MM going again but not getting any help from Frank, Ross's Dad http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/103391-z31-axle-swap-r200-clsd-m2-differentials/ Are there less expensive companion flanges out there?? Installing the glass is not hard, clothesline rope and LOTS of soapy water, set bottom on lip , press against glass (Two People) and slowly pull rope, go slow at corners use a plastic putty knife to assist getting the rubber over the metal if needed. Once the rope pull is done keep pressure on the glass and go around the gasket with the plastic putty knife to seat the outer rubber edge better. The real pain in the ass is the Stainless Trim, I would like to see a tool made to help with this, I am thinking having a u shaped hook that glides on the stainless trim ridges as it is pushed into the rubber. Look at the sliding metal clips used on tool socket holders I think a similar shaped clip with a handle welded on to the top and extensions making the hook part of the clips a little longer would work? anybody want to try and make one?

OK, I'm here in LA going to look around tomorrow, any more suggestions on where to find seats I can trial fit my body?

Two weeks to go and I'll be in LA anymore suggestions on places to try on seats? I heard there were a couple of warehouse places in a city called La Puente that have large stock and you can view and sit in the seats but nothing specific was mentioned but they are on Craigslist in LA???

I am going to be in LA for 2 weeks and since there is no place in New England to go to actually sit in some after market seats I would like to find a couple of places in the LA Area that might have showrooms that have actual seats you can sit in to see how they feel and fit.
