Lt1 does not run looking for help

Do you have a bulb for the SES light? (Service engine soon or CEL) Have you checked the VATS was really removed, do you have the Fuel pump wiring correct with the PCM? Check the injectors with NOID indicator I believe they need a negative voltage to trigger. Just tossing around a few ideas Some of these kept me from running when I was trying to start it 5 years ago? Do you have a laptop and TunerCAT?, sometimes the VATS programmed out works just fine but others have had to also put a resistor inline that was the same value as the ignition key resistor chip -
V8 Scarab Registration/Numbering/Logos

Haven't heard from Mdantonio in quite some time, This was tossed around a bit at the ZCON convention here in New Hampshire last August with a Scarab owner from Virginia, myself and a few other V8 conversions from also MA and NY, we all would love to put together a registry and have emblems available for the registered owners. I hope this moves forward I thought it was a great Idea. -
Clutch problems again...

For what it is worth I have a 7/8" Tilton master on my LT1, stock 95 Firebird clutch and pressure plate and clutch kit made by Fort Worth, had the stock flywheel re-surfaced and run a Metal T5 slave cylinder from Tremec for a 93 F body from AutoZone, been running fine for 5 years now... -

Bringing up a 3 year old thread here hoping there has been some updates on lighting since then. Well I just read this whole thread and was all ready to go ahead and cobble an HID headlight together from an H4 housing until I read the last post. Went to the HIDplanet website ( www.hidplanet.com) and got totally lost. I just want to upgrade those dim 280Z headlights so I can drive at night and wanted to go the brightest and see the furthest distance possible, especially since I have the smoked headlight covers. -
Been running my custom Jones 40" 2.5" ID X 4" OD glass pack pipes for 5 years now with no issues. Fairly quiet just soft pedal cruising or putting by a police car but fairly loud with the throttle punched hard.

LT1 in 240z. How low is your oilpan? Need photos please

You can swap the oil pan out in the car, it is not easy but can be done. Be careful with the front and rear seals not moving, especially the rear. Be sure to check the oil pick-up tube and the new pan clearance. do a dry fit with silly putty or something similar to check pick up tube clearance not being too little or too much. I think the 7 quart TransDap Hamburger pan and pick-up tube with the high volume Mellings pump might of had something to do with my rod bearing failure but I haven't removed the pan on that engine yet to verify I will eventually finish the other LT1 and use the Hamburger pan again. I still don't understand how your engine sits so low when my LT1 is slightly higher than the crossmember. I'll jack it up and take some pics maybe this weekend. -

T56 Clutch & flywheel questions

I think Mcleod might have a flywheel that uses all the LT1 pressure plates and flywheels. I did a post on this years ago when I was considering a 400SBC mated to the LT1 T56 It may still be posted, search, I used a 7/8" Tilton master that bolted right in (Save the shaft/adaptor from your stock master) and a Metal T5 slave from AutoZone (Late 80's Camaro) with -3AN braided hose and the GM Quik-connect to -3AN adaptor at the slave. (Russel 640281) There is a bleeder on the slave. This is also posted here somewhere -

With a first Gen SBC you need to move the hood latch anyway, JTR has a kit for this. you can mount a triangulated brace to the firewall a little further apart than mine is to clear the distributor, I have a piece on angle stock running between the two ends spreading it further apart rather than a single point. -

I am finally putting on a 30 year old IMSA GT 3 Piece Urethane version this week that I have had for since I first bought my 78 in 82, I never put it on and honestly had forgotten about it until recently. I should have it back from the body shop this weekend. I don't think you can find the Urethane ones anymore as they have a bit more detail on the sides that I haven't seen with the fiberglass ones.

JTR Radiator Alternative?

I used the Thunderbird fan, it is a one speed and the shroud fits the radiator opening pretty well, using a 4 row Griffin and a 180 thermostat with the computer to turn the fan on at 180, never goes over 190 even in traffic during the summer. -

If you haven't found it yet in your search there is a 280Z seat swap list and there are some good pictures by Padam07 on his cutting out the 280Z Hump and welding in a new plate. Post #40 on page 2 and 104 on page 6 http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/88301-280z-seat-swap-list/page-2 I have been trying to track and get posted and document all seat swaps into the 280Z hump cars in this thread so all can use as a reference and maybe become a sticky some day. So if you could please post your write up and progress pics to this thread also. Thanks, Greg
