Hmmmmm.... Note to self. No burning myself up. Check. Ok I'm good, thanks.

I sold mine a few years ago for a nice penny. People were really into them and paying apretty penny. I bought my first full leather suit (motorcyle racing) by selling transformers. I bet you can still make a nice buck by selling them on ebay. If you have them in the boxes still you could get close to a hundred per transformer. Sweet!

Even though its been cold I'm trying to get a little done here and there. The Limited slip rear should be in by the end of the weekend and the brakes completed. I then have to go to my friends house to finish putting the SDS system in. Hopefully by spring I will have a turbo car running.

*GRAPHIC/GORE WARNING!* Why you should always wear a helmet
PETEW replied to auxilary's topic in Non Tech Board
1. I never said that motorcycles were a safe means of transportation, but why should you increase the risk. It's like saying I know I will get sunburned to a crisp in the Arizona sun but I choose not to wear sunblock. DUMB! 2. I would love to see that statistic. I did a highside on the track at 80-100mph and I seem to be ok. It couldn't have been because of the helmet I was wearing. If it was my head it would have shattered instead of the helmet. 3. missing 4.Never said he was or wasn't. My statement was that if you don't wear a helmet your looking to be a meat popsicle one day. 5.You say it isn't valid but how. How do insurance companies rate anything? By # of accidents, cost, and severity. Sounds to me like no helmets could cause increases. Also Health insurance is looking to bail on paying bike crash claims. Not my words, the AMA's. Why because meatheads don't want to wear helmets. Sorry can't have it both ways but the AMA seems to want to have thier cake and eat it too. If you read Cycle World they had an article similar to this just recently. 6.Again I never said I was the poster child for saftey. But anytime your on a bike and don't wear saftey gear you looking for some serious scaring minimum. I chew out stunt guys all the time that don't wear gear. Just because you do something risky doesn't mean you have to increase that risk by not putting something as simple as a helmet on. 7.Riding bikes is risky. I know that, I have eaten the pavement. But I weighed the risks and my enjoyment and decided it is worth it to me. But when I go out, summer, spring, or fall, I go out with gloves, leather jacket, helmet, and boots that cover my ankles. Does that mean I won't get hurt or killed? Hell no, but I least I'm increasing my odds. I know we could argue about this all day. And I going to bow out of this. I think everyone here knows my point of view. I am just dissapointed in PA and the AMA fighting for something that really is dumb to me. Some people need to be told what to do; thats why mowers have "do not stick hands or feet under while running" on them. Face it, people are stupid. I hope all of you are smart enough to wear the proper gear while riding. I would hate to hear someone got hurt by not doing so. Auxilary Thanks for sticking up for me, but that is me doing the wheelie. What can I say I do dumb things. But I wear the gear. But I look cool though. -
*GRAPHIC/GORE WARNING!* Why you should always wear a helmet
PETEW replied to auxilary's topic in Non Tech Board
Caparral I am really lost on your entire skier/climber instance. I just know there is a direct relationship between motorcycle accidents and insurance premiums. I also know there will be a direct relationship between health insurance carriers not covering motorcycle accidents and increased costs due to no helmet laws. Here in PA when they got rid of the helmet law every Harley lover and his brother started riding without a helmet. I think it is crazy and don't understand why anyone would ride without a helmet. Having a choice is fine, but on something like this I don't understand how it really affects you in any negative way. If your smart you would want to wear one anyway (Yeah I said it). How does being forced to wear a helmet affect you negatively. You can't smell the fresh air through it? You can't see through it? It's messes your pretty hair? I don't get it, it is a stupid fight. Maybe it's the conservative republican in me, but that's another story. Heavy Z Rarely will you see an insurance company lower their rates. They would rather see higher profits than give it back. I agree they should but who likes to give money back. -
*GRAPHIC/GORE WARNING!* Why you should always wear a helmet
PETEW replied to auxilary's topic in Non Tech Board
I always wonder why I never hear anyone snivel about the money it takes to find lost halfwit skiers, or injured skydivers, or climbers who have to be pulled off a rock. Not to mention dipstick hikers that get lost. The list goes on and on. Furthermore does anyone actually think that a bucket on that guys head would have let him walk away? A while back Aux posted a bike that center punched the front of a dump truck that riders helmet didn't do him much good. Maybe driving with thier head removed from their A$$ would have done them more good than all the helmets in the world. Even though I think it is the height of stupidity, if you want to get on a bike with a $500 helmet and shorts and sandles that's your business. A few years ago the stats showed that most deaths in AUTO accidents were the result of head injuries. But I don't see any one suggesting skid lids for four wheelers. So, until someone outlaws "extreme sports" just let those who rice decide. Sorry to rant, but....... I must be getting lost. Are you saying two wrongs make a right? There is tons of stupidity out there and there are tons of things done to keep people from doing stupid things. That is just the way it is. I crashed with a $500 helmet, instead of a smashed skull I had a concusion. Would I ever ride without a helmet; no. But there are tons of idiots out there who do and effect my bottom line. If your dumb enough to ride without a helmet and don't care about your family, friends and yourself enough to wear one maybe you need someone saying you have to. -
Man there are so many movies to pick from. I would have to see that my favorite is Deepthr....... Er I mean Raiders of the Lost Ark. Yeah that's it.

Silver or Gun,metal, which do you prefer?
PETEW replied to z-ya's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
I like the silver, they look classy to me. I think it compliments the cars lines and color much better. Oh well, just one guys opinion. -
*GRAPHIC/GORE WARNING!* Why you should always wear a helmet
PETEW replied to auxilary's topic in Non Tech Board
I would agree with either one of these statements if it didn't affect my pockets any. Because of people not wearing helmets and higher death/serious injurytolls there are more than likely going to be higher insurance premiums, and less insurance companies offering bike insurance. There is also a growing trend of medical insurance not covering motorcycle accidents due to the costs involved. So unfortunatley, for my sake, it is better to have these jackasses being told they have to wear helmets and seatbelts (cars) to be safe. -

That is one sick ass picture. Man, I never understood why the AMA fights so hard to give bikers the right to choose to wear a helmet. Its a stupid fight that will only have higher death rates as a result. I would never ride without a good lid. -
Hey another one joins the leagues. Marriage isn't a big deal, it's just another change to go through in our ever changing lives. Good luck and enjoy. Next stop, children!

It looked like Chlorine powder, like shock for a pool. Any time you add a liquid to chlorine powder it has explosive results. It could have even been water and had the same result. You always add powder to a liquid not the other way around. Hell I learned that when I was their age, I guess they missed that class.

OUCH!

I like it. It's a serious sports car without any frills that the yuppy terds are looking for in thier ferrari's now adays. Give me a light powerful no frills car any day. I think this car would make a lot of the hi po cars nervous.
-
I would like to see some video of them taking that vette off the hill. Can you imagine the amount of damage done just to get it back down. I would also like to see the jackasses face when they do it.

What kind of blower are you gonna get. ATI, Vortech,....? IF you can stay out of it you can still make decent mileage.

You know what don't do the crime if you can't do the time. I know these kids died and that is sad but you get what you ask for. Stealing cars, driving with out a license, and speeding from the cops you asking to die. If the parents actually sue the police I hope they can turn it around and fine these idiots for not raising there kids and being overall idiots. OK I'm done ranting.

I like it with the the tint. Looks more menacing (sp?). How's it backing it up with the dark tint on the hatch window. I know I had a car with tint on the hatch and I had a hard time judging depth, but it was my only car with tint. PA is real strict on the tint level and what windows, etc, etc. That ram air looks like it will really let the motor breath. I grow more jealous every day.

I drove the Mongoose!!!!! (now w/MORE pics)
PETEW replied to Tim240z's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
Nice job. It's gotta be real satisfying to know that you did all that hard work and it is paying off in burnt rubber. Let's get some action shots. -
Pete, You did yours together with the frame rails. Didn't you? I am getting ready to do subframe connectors in my 280Z, on jackstands, but only have four. I thought as long as the frame is solid the car should be relatively straight and correct. If this thinkibng is faulty let me know, last thing I want to do is put in subframe connectors then lower my car and find out I can't open a door. I just figured it would be smart to do it while swapping the rear with the LSD I have.

Mike, Do you have any pics of the vette now that it has tinted windows? Also when are we going to get a video of a tire roasting ceremony? I think the old tires and wheels would do nicely. Man I wish I had a vette.

Nice buy. Yoiu got that bike for a steal. You should be able to learn to do wheelies on that bike. 8) Just look at my avatar, you get the idea. I just got a TL1000S a few months ago, and your right nobody is buying right now. Gotta love the buys you can get.

If you've ever cracked open a beer during a eulogy....
PETEW replied to auxilary's topic in Non Tech Board
I watched that last night, as well. The last part with them all sitting together was my favorite part. Those guys have some funny stories. -
WOW! That just plain sucks. That poor kid, loosing your father and then finding out your going to die soon, too. Not a cool way to get some cool cars, but is nice that he is giving them to his buddy. I would hope his friend would keep the cars as a reminder of his friend. The dealership actually took a check for that amount? I'm guessing they verified it.
