Which thread are we talking about. I have been looking for long studs that are a 12-1.25, but no one has them. I have the lug nuts (came with the wheels) but not the lugs. I heard you can get NISMO studs, but they are like $8/ stud! If I can't find the pitch I want I might have to go to 12-1.5 and new lug nuts. There goes another $100.

Mike, You wanna save yourself some money and hassle bailing this kid out of jail in the near future? How about a nice bonding experience for the two of you? How about a nice vacation away from work and the pressures that go with it? I say look into some racing schools where you and the kid can have a good time, learn about driving a car, and where and when to do it. Nothing teaches you respect for a vehicle like a driving school. First it isn't you telling him to respect the machine, it is a proffesional driver tellling him. It also will give him the skills to handle the kind of power and speed your talking about. It may look expensive at first, but the value will show itself when the kid (and you) comes out a much better driver with the knowledge to drive this car. Good Luck.

Looks pretty good. How much, if you don't mind me asking. I am getting ready to buy mine.

I thought I remember reading the same thing. It was a mustang or a 300ZX piece. I thought I remember them writing how they had to heat it, though, to shape it more to the 240-280Z A pillar. Either way, it looked nice and it was a two pod set up. I want to do this for my boost and air fuel gauge. don't want to have to look down too much.

Phantom that is a great looking Z. I didn't know if I liked that Aero kit from MSA. I think I've changed my mind. Your car looks great! I wonder what it would look like with some flares, though. Hmmmmm. 8)

check out my personal gallery!(edit) also, update on my Z

Looks like your ready to rock! Let us know what you think when you start to lay down patches. 8) -
I see lots of guys doing different things to keep the mount working. I was wondering why more guys just don't do the cable wrap like the JTR manual suggests. You get to keep the stock mount that dampens the vibrations, but the strength to keep it from ripping from the steel cable. Doesn't that work. I am trying that for my car, but it is still on stands right now.

I just bought a set of 245/45 for all around the car (Kuhmo Ecsta Supra 712) I just wanted the rears to be a little wider. I have 16 x 9 monocoque wheels (got them from JohnC, thanks John) so I have more than enough width to handle a larger tire. I am guessing with the same size tire front and rear it should make the car handle more neutral. I always wondered, with a near 50/50 split in weight wouldn't you want the same size tire front and rear or ..... I really want the car to handle well, but also be able to launch it when I take it to the 1/4. I just thought a set of 275 with some ZG flares would have set the car off nicely. I guess I'll have to keep looking. Too many guys looking for dub's (20 in wheel)

Hey guys, on a side note. Did anyone else notice that it is impossible to buy tires over a 245 width for 16 in wheels. I looked all over the web and no one has them any more. Is it something you have to special order, or do they not make them since everyone wants 17 in wheels and larger. I was going to buy a set of 275/45 or 40's to fill the zg flare out back but no luck. Anyone know something I don't. Thanks.

No the screws are meant to show. You just trim your fender and mount them. If you do a search a there a bunch of posts about the flares and how to mount them. I believe some guys say to use VW welting to really seal the flair. My R1 was a 2000 model, great for wheelies. I got rid of it, but can't stand not having a bike. The new ZX-10 coming out looks nice. Hmmmm, maybe.

You can try this for starters. But there are more sites for slightly better prices. I know they did a group buy somewhere recently and the prices were good. http://www.zcarparts.com/store/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=7BSA

Hey guys, I am interestedin buying a used bike, but it is a Canadian model. Is it hard bringing it into the US and what do I have to do to get it on the roads. I know the speedo will be in Kilometers, do I have to change that? The only thing holding me back is if it will be a total pain in the butt to get transferred to the US. Please help. Thanks.

I think you would be nuts not to buy it. I would not butcher it, though. It is a shame that it wasn't left stock. Such an old example would be a cool example of what an original Z looked and performed like. It sounds like it isn't a bad deal. Hell, if you don't buy it I sure would think about it. 8)

Thanks Speeder. Glad to hear that it worked well. I can't wait to get all this stuff together. I really want to get this car moving, but want it to turn and stop just as well.

Even though you are looking into a digital camera, you have to ask yourself one question. Do you buy a camera from a camera company or a electronics company? You buy one from a camera company. The most important part of any camera is it's lens. I don't care if its 2 megapixels or 6 megapixels, if it has a crappy lens then forget it. You will never take a picture worth crap. I bought a higher end Cannon (D60) beacause I wanted a camera with a 35mm body that I could switch lenses for different situations. Would I recomend this route for anyone. No, it is expensive and not too many people would use the functions available with such a camera. But I do recomend Canon because they are known for good optics and high quality electronics. They are right now one of the leaders in the digital picture industy. Look on E-bay for bargains, people are always selling. There are also a ton of web sites that will give alot of info about a camera. No matter what you buy, I'm sure you will like it. Most of the cameras are decent. Just do some searching on the web and you will find a camera that you can be happy with in your price range.

That's a shame. They should have used synthetic.

Hey guys, I just ordered coilovers and cv adapters from Ross the other day and I just wanted to make sure no one had any clearance problems with the adapter. I don't think it should be a problem with my Arizona Z rear disk conversion, but I am wondering if my larger MSA rear swaybar will get in the way. I have the 7/8 rear swaybar for my '77 280Z. Did any one have any issues with clearance and what did you do? I tried a search but came up with nothing. Thanks.

Should I Replace Wheel Bearings?
PETEW replied to TomoHawk's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
Any one have any good tips on how to get the rear wheel bearings out. I am replacing mine (just in time too, they were starting to scar parts) and can't seem to get them out. Did most of you take them to a press, or....? According to my Hanes manual the outer one should have come out with the hub, but it did not, so now what. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. -
question about painting this suspension part.... please help
PETEW replied to a topic in Body Kits & Paint
Smooth is paints enemy. The paint has to have somehting to bite into. You should try and rough it up a little and then use a primer (which you can get in spray bomb) and then your final paint. It should hold up a little better using that method. You also want to make sure that there aren't any remains of the chemicals used to clean it on the part. Good luck. -
Looks like you guys did alot of nice work for that short a period of time. I love Jeeps. We used to have one, but got rid of it. Nothing offroads like a Jeep! 8)

Al, Sorry to hear about your sons problems. I am very glad to hear that the doctors are telling you that he will make a full recovery. It sucks thinking of having to give up all your hard work, I'm sure, but you are doing it for all the right reasons. I'm hoping that you will be able to keep your car and have your son return to good health. Keep up the faith, and remeber that things will get better. You have all my best wishes.

What worked for me was a scaler. It took off the undercoating with ease. If you have a compressor it has got to be one of the best ways to do it.

ZHome is a great site with almost all the info you will need. 240's are chronic rust cars. Look everywhere for hidden rust. There are many members who have spent countless hours cutting and welding because of it. Good luck in your search.

I always thought that sectioning the strut was just to lower the car more. If you only wanted to drop the car 2" or less then you could go with not sectioning. Maybe I'm wrong, it won't be the first time. I have a feeling I will be doing this job soon, I bought wheels that may require coilovers.

Nice car Drax. It's nice to see a car that is modified, but done so in a classy matter. So what color are you going to paint it?
