The factory Nissan ZG Flares, do they make them anymore? I would lke to get some ZG Flares, but hate the ones from MSA. Are any of the other guys like classic Datsun any different? Thanks. Oh, by the way, very nice wheels.

Good find. I bought my turbo car for $600, and drove it home. If it wasn't so rusted out underneath it would have been a decent car.

What is a good price for one of these turbos (used of course). What is the streetability of this turbo. Where does the power turn on and start turning off. What are using for a downpipe? Thanks.

I was so excited to see this race. I am sorry to hear that people have now been banned from the forum because of this, though. I was wondering how did you guys get the engine back for the raffle. If you lost how did that not go with the car? Does it get really ugly when the cameras are off (after the final race)?? I was thinking a few times on this show and others that it was going to turn into a fistacuff. Well good job in showing that a little Datsun can be quick, too.

I love all of those cars, but I voted for the Viper. It just depends on what you want. The BMW and the Merc both carry a prestege with them, but they are also maintainence whores. The Cadillac is nice because it is a vette with the Cadi comforts. I think that would be a nice sleeper, as well.(Hmmm, this would be choice 2) I love Porsche but I heard good things about them and then I have heard nightmares about them. I like the 911 because of its timelessness (if that is a word). They are a great looking car that seems to hold decent value (and respect) and then becomes a collectable, if you hold onto it. I just don't know about reliability and cost to maintain the thing. The Mustang would be great since they are so new and will be a hard to find item, but it is still just a Mustang. Besides, after the Vette I don't think the Mustang would be able to handle like you would want it. That leaves us with the Viper. Tons of torque, great handeling, more rare than a vette (at least in my area) and the reliabilty has gotten much better (or so I am told). Not to mention when you get the modding bug the Viper has a ton of things you can do to it. Well that is my 2 cents. Take it for what it's worth.

Interested in the Pinks Z: Want the motor? Details within...

I just sent my $26. I hope we have a good racer and negotiator. -
My project has been sitting still for 2 years now. I am about to start on the process once again. I will be doing a light rebuild on the motor (turbo L6) and then putting that in the car. I also need to pick up a 5 speed and mount the R200 LSD in the car. Then I need to get going on the body work. I don't know if I want to tackle it myself or just send it out. Man, that is going to cost some bucks. Then do the interior and I should be done for that moment. My problem is I keep on doing the "well I might as well change that". This car started out as a simple street car. It is now coil overs, big brakes, LSD diff, aftermarket managment system, flared monster tire car. MAN I CAN'T WAIT TO DRIVE THIS THING!

My problem is I have too many hobbies. I really like anything with a motor. I have a '97 Tl1000S that I have been modifying through the years. I also have a 400ex quad that is now a 416. My buddy and I just rebuilt the motor a month ago with higher compression piston, stage 2 cam, etc, etc. I also have a '96 Polaris XCR600SP. It is a 120hp tripple snowmobile that has about a 110mph top speed. When not playing with those I like to shot skeet, or my glock .40 cal. I also like Bass fishing in my pond and playing with my kid. Oh yeah, I also like to get out and play golf when I have a chance, which isn't too often, anymore. Oh, I almost forgot my newest toy. The wife and I just bought a 33hp diesel New Holland tractor with a front end loader and 60 in mower. You kind of need one of those with 18 acres (too much work!).

Turbo Guys..Need Advice on my 300whp Goal - Please Chime In
PETEW replied to slownrusty's topic in Nissan L6 Forum
I was wondering, is this 300 to the rear wheels or the crank? If it is at the crank, how easy is it to get those numbers at the rear wheels. I have a project that I need to finish ( I haven't worked on the car for 2 years now. Damn house!) and I am thinking I would like to start with a solid 300 RWHP car to get me started. Thanks for the help and info. -
I used the blackcote over a layer of POR15. It is the glossy top cote that will not change color. It isn't as protective as POR15 but will retain its glossy black finish. My engine bay looks just like it did a year ago.

Man oh man. I can't beleive it. I understand it, but still can't beleive it. Scottie you are the reason that I am doing the turbo car I am doing. I am basically copying what you had so I am hoping for similar results. I hope you stay on the board. You are a great asset to this forum. I would hate to lose your wealth of knowledge.

If you get an aftermarket intercoooler and pulley setup it takes it up to 335-350hp. I've heard that they will do mid to low 13's. Sounds good to me.

Congats man. I could not imagine my life without my 8 month old daughter. She is definitley my life. Enjoy.

Disaster at the Kelly house! Someone testdrove the mustang..

Why wouldn't his car insurance pay for the damage. I thought that if an individual has full coverage insurance it sort of follows him, it covers the individual as well as the car. He was driving so he is responsable under his insurance. I may be wrong, it has been awhile since I did the insurance thing, I hope I am not. Man Mike, who in the hell would of thought that something like that could happen in your own driveway. I hate letting people drive my stuff, when selling, for so many reasons. Too many people with out brains, and too many free loaders looking to beat on your car at your expense. Hope this turns out ok for you. -
Man, it looks like you do some real nice work. I hope I can find a guy that takes pride in his work like you do. Great job!

Walbro has that 190lph fuel pump the GSL394. I noticed it is about the same price as the GSL392, though. I would think that would serve most peoples needs well. I was wondering what most guys are using for fuel lines. I was thinking of using the stock lines in my '77 280Z but I am not sure if they are large enough for higher hosepower hybrid turbo motors. What are most of you using? If you did switch lines, are you using solid lines or flexable, or....? I am especially interested in what fellow 280 car owners are using. Sorry for Hijacking this thread, but I figured it kind of went along with the fuel pump issues.

Good Ole Toyota Quality..And Why I Love Them!...Great Video!
PETEW replied to slownrusty's topic in Non Tech Board
Wow! Way to beat on a car. Man that thing was spoolen up toward the end. What is the redline on that thing. -
Amazing. You aren't safe anywhere from the scum & human waste that seems to be increasing on this earth. I am trying to control it by buying a house with 18 acres. I figure that will give me enough of a buffer zone that I can take a few shots at 'em before they get to close to the house.
-
Wow James that looks like a really good price. Is that a complete turbo, or are we just talking wheels, no housing. If that is complete, I will buying a turbo sooner than I thought.
-
ughhh... you guys said member. He he!

Nice purchase, Tim. I love the colors of the bike. What year is it? I am guessing '96 but I am not sure. The bike, like you said is heavy compared to a new GSXR, but still a light bike overall. I remember my first sportbike, a '91 CBR1000. What a pig! That bike was over 600lbs with a full tank. A new ZX-10R with a full tank will just be over 400lbs. What a difference. My TL1000 comes in at 450lbs with a full tank, which is where your bike should be. Still a fun and fast bike, that is dead reliable. There are plenty of parts to hop it up too. Ride safe and wear your gear. Enjoy.
-
The ZX-7 should be a bike that you can pick up very cheaply. Kawasaki didn't change the bike for 8 or 9 years. They stayed with the same bike as the GSXR's kept getting stronger and stronger. I would think that you could pick up a '97 or '98 for around $3500-4K that is in mint condition. I just bought a '97 TL1000S with ~2700 miles for less than $4K. The bike was mint and stock. If you want a more comfortable bike that is quick and more a commute kind of bike try the FZ1. I have seen 2002 go for less than $6K. Good luck in your hunt, and let us know what you get. Oh by the way, if your helmet is more than 5 years old you might want to look into getting a new one. The foam breaks down inside and gives less protection as the years go by.

I Can't say I blame you for feeling a little violated. There is nothing worse than having someone get into your home without your consent or knowlege. The first year my wife and I had our home someone decided to let themself into the house. Most of lights were off upstairs so they thought we weren't home, but we were down in our finished basement watching TV. We left the sliding glass door unlocked since we were home and both of us were used to living in the country. We are watching tv and she looks at me and says " I think someone is in the house!" I told here that she is crazy. Now at this point the guy has got to hear that we are home. The Tv is on and we are talking back and forth that someone is in the house. Next thing I know my Boxer (Buck) is flying up the steps, which took only two leaps for the entire set, and attacking someone. You could hear his nails sliding across the lanoleum floor. Then you hear the sliding glass door slam. I look at my wife in shock, and run upstairs. I see the dog bouncing his face off the glass of the door trying to get out. I don't see anyone, but run to bedroom to get the glock and the dog and I go out to find nothing. Unfortunately they got my wifes purse but we cancelled all credit cards etc. It was more of a nussiance. I have also had my cars gone into if they were ever left unlocked. I am guessing it was someone local, like a kid, but who knows. That is one of the main reasons we are moving now. We don't want to raise our child in this type of environment. We just bought a house with 18acres so I am hoping I won't have to deal with buttholes any longer. I want my kid to feel safe when she runs outside and plays, so hopefully this will allow her to. Sorry for your problem and I hope that they catch the piece of crap. If you don't have one, get a dog. They are a pain in the butt sometimes, but man after hearing my guy try and rip that guy a new one, he earned his keep.

Congatulations! Let the never ending debt begin. You will find out that a home is more of a money pit than a Z will ever be. Enjoy it, you know have a piece of the earth you can say is yours.

I have a question. The side flanges on the LSD diff, Are they the same for 280Z to 280ZX? The reason I am asking is my 300ZX diff came with no side flanges (or whatever you call them). I have my 280 Z diff here (and out of the car) so I could use them if the CV's are the same on the diff side. I have the cv adapters on from Ross so I am ready on the brake side. I just don't know if I can pull the side flanges from my 280Z or if I have to wait and pull them from my 280ZX turbo car. Thanks.
