  1. Man, very cool. I remember those cars. I was just a kid but was in love with the Z's and how they kicked butt. Neat article.
  2. Man, it took me a second before I saw it. That is sad that she can't tell that is on wrong. Oh well, maybe it protects better that way.
  3. Good numbers. I was wondering, did they really weigh your car, or is the 3000 lb just a guess. I wouldn't think that the 280Z weighed that much. Man, I hope not, I have a '77 too.
  4. That really sucks. He was an awesome driver. Saw the Speed race just the other week. He really was a talented driver, the vipers were a realitivly new team. John I would race, if I were you. I think it says more about the man than to sit it out. Like David wrote get some black #'s for your car. The man was passionate about racing, I think the best way to honor him is to go and do your best! God Speed Paul!
  5. I feel bad for the guy, but I was laughing the whole time. How in the hell did he fall. What a dumb a#$! He went down like a sack of potatoes. THUMP!!
  6. I was wondering if anyone makes the LSD brace for my '77 280Z. I want to keep the finned cover if I can. I know you can switch to the open R200 cover, but I would like to keep the finned cover. I understand that it holds more fluid, so it should have better cooling capacity. If someone makes the brace or has a shop that makes them let me know how much. I would gladly pay for the brace and some extra for who ever could help me. I know V8240Z used to get them made but is not able to get them any more. I am hoping that someone here makes them or has a contact. Thanks.
  7. I am doing my coil overs right now and decided not to section my struts at this point in time. I am only dropping the car about 2 " which 1 1/2 " will come from the new hat (I am told). I figure if I want to drop the car more I can do so next year when I have more money for better struts. I notice a lot of people have sectioned their struts and I was wondering if they lowered thier cars more than 2". Or is thier something else I am missing. I know alot of people talk of losing suspension travel, but I should only be taking 1/2" out or so. I wouldn't think that would cause a problem, but.....? Let me know what you guys did and why. Do you primarily use for the street, drag, road race/ autocross, etc. I just want to see if my thoughts are faulty, and if they are, buy a set of struts now and section. Thanks . Oh, my setup will be 8" springs 200lb front and 225lb rear. I am looking to do a mix of drag and track days with spirited street driving.
  8. If you still feel the need to argue then how about this..........
  9. OK, guys. I know I'm as guilty as anyone but we should put an end to this one. Let's just agree to disagree. And remember............ Sorry if this offends anyone. I just thought it was funny.
  10. Your right but you must remember that our government was founded and based on Christian values. Too many people forget that, or offended by that, or want to seperate it. Guess what? It's making us a weak, sad nation, who doesn't want to offend anyone, or make anyone feal bad. Tuff s#$% if you ask me. We keep dilluting the constitution that made this nation great. Oh well, off my soap box. As for the scumbag that did this to this child. Be it the father, the step daughter, or whomever. I say let them take a dirt nap!
  11. Sounds like you got it right to me. Make sure the spring is the front spring not the rear. Other than that alot of the lowering springs don't touch both ends when the car is not on the wheels. I didn't like that, that's why I choked up the extra money for coil overs. Good luck on the project, sounds like your doing it right.
  12. Talk about a bad day. What a way to die. The world is a crazy place.
  13. Crap! I forgot about the spindle pins. Never mind what I said about easy, they are a pain. Everything else is pretty easy, and shouldn't be a problem. All it takes is time and patience. (And the right tools ) Good Luck.
  14. It's not that bad. More a pain in the butt than anything. The hardest thing you will run into is having to cut out some metal sleeves to put in the new poly bushings. You can do this job in a weekend, no problem. Good luck.
  15. I MUST be the pig. Because the car keeps getting more expensive and extensive. Not to mention I've been packing on the pounds quicker than a pregnant women.
  16. Heck, that's been my whole project. It was going to be a minor project that won't cost that much, and will be done in 6 months. Next thing I know it's two years later and I've spent so much money on a car that still doesn't move. Oh well, I'm getting close. It will move under it's own power this year. That's right you heard it here first, it will move this year. That's my promise.
  17. Sounds like you are having a good time. The main reason we are all building these cars, right. Glad to hear you are enjoying the fruits of your labor. Now go get some more kills for us.

    PANTERA FANS???

I love Panteras. The lines of the car are so classic. That is one of those cars that are ageless. You look at the styling at it looks just as beautiful today as it did back when it was new. You hardley ever see them. I would love to see a pic of his car.
  19. That picture is one HUGE reason I never got into wrestling. I know it's a tuff sport but I just don't want to be that close to another mans package. I have no desire to be squirming around on a mat with another guy. Oh well.
  20. Stupid Cagers! People just don't look out for bikes. It really pisses me off that cars are starting to come with day time running lights. It only makes bikes blend into the scenery that much more. People think its ok when they kill someone because "they didn't see them". That's not an excuse, I say give the people the maximum punishment. That kid just destoyed peoples lives. But because he didn't mean it, or didn't see them, he'll probably only do community service. Some things just don't make sense.
  21. I'll tell you what is sad. It's sad that I read thru most of the first sentence before I realized what was going on. I was just reading thru it like nothing. That is freakin amazing!
  22. Man if your getting stuck on the bolts for the halfshaft then you are in trouble when it comes to your Transverse pivot bolt. That thing is the whore of all whores. My bolt would not move for anything, luckily I had a good shop help me out. Good Luck! I have a feeling you aren't getting the struts anywhere, anytime soon.
  23. One word, OUCH! I've cut myself many times without feeling it, then you see the blood and suddenly someting hurts. Hope your OK. This is not a good start to getting the Z's finished.
  24. Yeah, the liter bikes are the IN category now. I had my 2000 R1 and man was that a wheelie machine . This new one should be just unreal. It not only makes 180hp (crank) but it now has ram air so that should be better at speed. Kawasaki claims that they will have class leading Hp to weight ratios, though. I have seen some pics of th e Kawasaki and I think it looks good. The Honda has no official reports out yet, but I'm not too sure of their styling. It isn't the bodywork so much as the graphics they put on it. Next year I'll take a look at all the bikes. Right now I am happy with my new bike (used, but new to me ). I just bought a '97 TL1000S. The thing was pristine, not even 2800 miles. The guy was older and really took care of the bike. He actually changed the brake fluid every 2 years, I mean this guy really took care of it. Anyways I wanted a twin that could do everyday duty as well as go through the twisties, and all for less than $4K . With a couple mods it should keep me happy. I doubt it will keep up with these monsters in a straight line, but lets hit the back roads and see how brave they are .
