  7. That looks AWESOME!!
  8. Here are some pics of the beast. I should be changing my first set up tires in the next week or two. The Z needs new shoes.
  9. When it goes bad, it tends to go real bad. I am one of those personalities that should walk away if it gets too bad. My problem is that I usually want to get the job done, so I don't. I then turn into the crazy man in the garage, cursing wildly. Luckily it always works out, and its better to vent your anger than swallow it (less heart attacks).
  10. I don't think that is it. I tried attaching photos today to my post and it won't let me. All of my lists say a should be able to (may attach). I tried doing through a URL typed and downloading it off my computer. Neither worked.
  11. Hey guys, I just bought myself a tire changing machine for $200. It is the Coats 30-40A. It is an older model but I have used similar models back when I worked at a gas station (waaaaayyyyyy back in the day). I am really excited to be able to do my own tires from now on. It should save me some money, and I can also make sure no one is dinging my wheels. From what I understand the machine can handle up to a 17" rim. I don't know for sure, but this is what I have been told. I have to find a wheel balancer now. I might just go with a simple bubble type till I can find a spin balancer for a decent price. I really don't know who makes a good balancer and what I could expect to pay. A friend of mine had one to give me a few years back but I had no where to put it, wish that was still available. I just thought I would share my good fortune with you guys. I have a feeling I will become a more popular guy with the neighbors and my friends when they need tires.
  12. Hey John, Thanks for the reply. I forgot about the Hankook. I heard they wear like iron. I will have to see what my local guy would put them on for.
  13. Hey guys, I am looking to buy some new tires for the 240Z. It has some Falken Azenis tires on it right now and they are a nice sticky tire. I like them because you can use them on the street, or autocross, or use for a track day. The only problem is they melt away like a race tire. I was wondering if the new model Rt615 has better wear characteristics? I also was wondering if they are better in the rain? My set is horrible. I am also looking at the Kuhmo Ecsta XS. I have heard they are lighter, wear better, and stick more than the Azenis, but you can't believe everything you read online. Does any one here have any personal experience with these tires? I haven't gotten to talk to anyone about the Kuhmos. The price of the Falken are very attractive at $80 a tire while the the Kuhmo is $96 a tire, so not bad either (tire size is a 205 50 15 right now). I am trying to do this before Z days, where I will have to commute over 1200 miles (total) there and back. I would like a tire that would last more than this one trip. If you have a recommendation for a tire other than the two I listed I am open to suggestions. Thanks for the help.
  14. Have you looked at the Boston Terrier? I really like that dog. My friend has two of them, and they are great with his kids. I like them because they are a small dog with tuff looks (like a mini boxer). Whatever you choose I am sure you will be happy. Kids love dogs, and they make great companions.
  15. Here is a pic of the '73 when I picked it up from 2003z (Mike). Color is Nissan Chartreuse 1972 code 123 + 25 g of 705A. I really like the color. It really stands out and works well with the lines of the car.
  16. Awesome job Phil. It's great to see you progress some more with the car. I am anxious to hear how much better this turbo is going to be. I am betting you will see some nice #'s with this turbo. I love the end just listening to the turbo spinning. Nice.
  17. I just put a system in the green '73 we have. I also filled the car with sound deadener before I put in new carpet. I had Polk 6x9 put in the rear with polk 4 (I think) up front. I also had a Kicker amp put in. Needless to say you can hear the system just fine. 2 6x9's behind your head will do that.
  18. I love that pic of the cat. Funny stuff. Her legs ain't too bad either.
  19. SonofZZZap, That is one heck of a present. Your dad is one nice guy. That 280Z is in nice shape. Too bad about the job. If you lost a job because you were in an accident then that wasn't a job you wanted. Good luck finding a job and Merry Christmas to you.
  20. My first car was a 1971 Camaro. What a hunk that was. Body mounts were rotted away, suspension sagging, beat 350. But I brought it back from the dead and sunk every dollar a young teenager could into it. Too bad I didn't keep it. Man I should have kept a lot of the cars I had.
  21. Alright, since no one is responding to my other thread I figured I would try a better title. Just like the title says I am looking to see if someone has specs on the Nissan Motorsports (Euro) Flat top pistons. I can not find anything on them. I am looking to bump up compression on my motor but have no idea what I can get away with, with these pistons. I have a P90 head on right now, and am around the 9 to 1 area. I would like to raise it to 10 to 1, or so. I also have a lead on a nice N42 head that was worked on by Rebello. According to L engine calculators I would be around the 10 to 1 compression (If what little I have found about these pistons is correct). Anyone that has used these pistons, knows about these pistons, had a friend of a cousin that used them, whatever, please help me and give me some insight. I have searched everywhere and found very little. Thanks.
  22. Supposedly with the N42 and what I can find about these pistons I would be at 10-10.3 compression ratio (if the engine calcs and info I have are right). I have seen guys running that on the 93 available here in PA. I am just worried about clearance issues. Right now the motor is under 9 to 1 compression.
  23. You know what, thinking about this some more, did you check your shocks. I had a weak shock on my truck and man would that thing shimmy. Only thing is, mine would get worse as I drove. Hmmmmm.
