CNN has been dead and gone for years. I only watch FOX anymore. I'll keep quiet about the rest since no politics allowed. Glad to see Madoff getting the years, but it will be a country club prison. He will be playing tennis and sleeping in. Hardly hard time.

Why would you do that to a car? I mean, someone had to pay some good money for that car at one time, and then just leave it to die like that? I just don't get it. Thank the lord for people like you, coming in to save the day (like wonder dog ). Good luck with it!

Wow! That is an awesome build to say the least. I would be interested to a see a video of this monster in action.

I was thinking that maybe Subaru updated brakes mid model. I know that can screw things up sometimes. The manufacturer updates some parts and then no one knows what to give you. Glad you got it straightened out, though. I really like the Subie WRX. I would love to get the sport wagon. It would be great for loading crap, plus it halls butt.

Wow, thank the lord that you didn't hit too hard. How bad was the car damaged? It doesn't look too bad in the video, but I know looks can be deceiving.

The changes to F1 are pretty crazy from year to year but you have to figure there are reasons they are doing it. I don't think they keep changing them to just to change them. I know they are finding their race fields shrinking just like MotoGP and there is a fear that they are going to be too small to be entertaining. They are looking for a happy medium between keeping it fast, but also keeping it competitive for all teams. I wish they would get rid of all the electronics. It is nice that the technology filters down to us, but racing was a lot more entertaining when you really had to have skill to drive and control the car. I know these guys are skilled drivers, but it was just so much more back in the 70's and even 80's when the men were separated from the boys.

ezzzzzzzz, That is what I thought. I switched the valves both ways and no real improvement. The one way was a little better and made the RPM's rise when on the brake. I have since switched my booster and proud to announce that the brakes are now AWESOME. I don't know if Mike ever had properly working brakes, but these things are incredible now. I know I never had either Z work this well, so I am very happy. It only cost me some time, so that is the best part.

I remembered that the 280Z and the late 240Z booster should be the same so I used the one from my project 280. I pulled that one out cleaned it up put some semi gloss black on it (gotta make it look nice) and bolted it up a few hours latter. No more RPM rise. I will have to see if the bakes feel a little less wooden tomorrow. Tonight I am redoing the drivers seat so it is a little lower so I can get a helmet on to autocross this thing.

Hey guys, I am trying to diagnose a brake problem I am having. I have noticed with the 240 that the brakes have always felt wooden. I always thought it was because of the pads, or just old brakes. But after doing more analysis I think it something more than that. I have the vented toyota brakes up front and 280zx brakes in the back. I have a proportioning valve and all new fluid. I have been finding that my RPM's go up when I am sitting at a light, and my foot is on the brake. I thought the valve going to the intake was going bad and did some tests. It is working fine. I also checked for leaks in the hoses and can't find any. I am assuming that this must mean that the booster is going bad. I have also found that there is not a big difference when the valve was hooked up one way or the other. Again, to me this means the booster is not working, and I basically have no power brakes. Am I correct in my analysis, or could there be something else I am not thinking of. I just don't want to spend $120 for nothing. Thanks.

I bought my miata seats for $75 at a wrecking yard. They were even the higher model with the speakers in the headrest.

How much trouble has your Z/ZX gotten you into?
PETEW replied to Challenger's topic in Non Tech Board
I know when to play and when to not. That is what keeps me out of trouble. -
First I tell the wife to go get me a beer. Then I tell her to get her fat ass out to garage to clean it..........Just kidding honey I love you (in case she reads this).

Tokico Illumina/Spring Install Questions
PETEW replied to DuoWing's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
The springs are always a confusing thing for people. If you have the stock springs still just match the aftermarket coils with the stock ones (amount of). The "bumpers" that you are talking about I am going to guess they are bump stops. Are they cone shaped with a hole in them. If they are then they are bump stops. -
There are a bunch of places to buy carpet from. You can buy from MSA, Black dragon, or even ebay. I bought carpet for my 240z on ebay and it was pretty nice. It was not top shelf stuff, but it was also less than $200 for a complete kit.

That is a VERY clean ZX. I really like the color of the paint. It really makes the car stand out. Great shots of a beautiful car.

I have never seen one with that panel. That is interesting. How far out does it sit, and how far down did it go. I would be afraid it would take up some of the foot space.
-
That is nice getting 27mpg. With the 3.7 rear that is a nice mix of performance and economy. Glad to hear that is has been problem free for you.
-
The only way you can get bargains on ebay anymore is bid on them at the last minute. I have seen used items almost sell for new prices because of guys getting bid crazy. I am looking for a welder right now and I see them sell for almost store prices all the time.

Wow! That is the ultimate for fat, lazy, and disgusting. Phil how the hell did you find that?! I mean I can't believe that you were looking for a new way to wipe you crack.
-
You forgot to mention the sick look on my wife's face. She got pretty ill on the way out. I was definitely pushing a little more that time and she felt it.

I don't see why the forks wouldn't work. They are for an F4i and that is what you crashed, right? The year shouldn't matter, as long as they are the same model, which they are. The aftermarket fairings are something that I would stay away from. They tend to be thin, poorly made and hard to make fit correctly. This could be the one time they are not, but I am guessing not.

Hey guys I figured I would share some shots I got from Zee Photos when I was down at Z days. Man, if you have never made it to Deal's Gap you have to get there. The roads are all amazing in that area, not to mention the cars and scenery. I kept it to a reasonable pace since I had a 700 mile drive home, but the Z never let me down. The only problem in a 2k mile weekend was a clogged fuel filter. A couple of bucks later and we were good to go. Hope you guys like the pics of the flying pickle.

I think lots of guys want them but are afraid to pull the trigger. I know this is good deal, but it is still $1250 in a sour economy. I really would like to buy these, so I wouldn't have to hunt everything down, but I am not sure my better half would appreciate the spending. I guess I have a hour and a half to convince her it is a good buy.
-
Man, I might have to see what I can come up with for that. What kind of power is it putting down. I would look it up but I am feeling lazy.

Too bad. He was in some good movies for once and he goes and hangs himself. What a shame.
