  2. true, but being 17 years old i was just trying to get creative and do something nobody's done before. plus, i like to fabricate, i figured the diesel turbo would provide plenty of fab work.
  3. 280zforce, i was talking about the whole engine not just the holset, i have put much thought into using the hy35 with the l28 but after seeing a duramax truck run 7.8 i got to thinking. dr_hunt, i have 1/8th inch thick steel subframe connectors and an 8 point roll cage. structurally i think i'd be alright but as far as brakes and handling go i think i would be pretty screwed. thanks for the input guys i think i've decided to stick with the L28et swap.
  4. ok i did some searching and i didnt find any posts about a cummins turbo diesel in a z and i was wondering if anybody has attempted or even thought of this swap. it would be hella torque and tons aof power easily obtainable through small upgrades. any thoughts? thanks
  5. external wastegates will be 10x easier with a setup like that. it would also make it more efficient, nice design edit: any thoughts of making em yourself and selling em? i'd be interested.
  6. J_, do you have the straight crossbar behind the seat? i have an S&W 8 point cage as well but i haven't installed it yet, i still need to put in the fuel cell and the rest of the floor pans so let me know. thanks
  7. thats about the same setup i'm planing but i was going to buy a p-90 and run about 12 pounds. from just reading on the forums it sounds like centerforce clutches are hit or miss so you can take your chances if you like.
  8. ok nevermind my question about the D2 pricing. but i tried searching and i couldnt find an answer to this question, what does a higher offset do to the appearance that it has on the car? is it something a spacer could fix? after looking around at wheels i noticed the FNO1R-C is priced well but it has an offset of +35...

  10. is there anybody putting down more than 300whp on stock internals? i'd like to know cause on my future l28 turbo build i was planning on doing forged pistons from arizona z car. dan4011, hows the 76 NA block with the turbo? can you tell a difference from an 81-83 in tuning?

  14. http://www.takumiproject.com usually has a few sets of watanabe's, they're selection comes and goes so you kinda have to watch it for a while.
  15. little late i dont get on the V8 boards much but in my 73 i have installed 1/8 inch thick steel subframe connectors, the guy that owned the car before me had started a project without the drive to finish it. he had already installed one connector but that was it. i just finished putting in the last one this past weekend, i'll post up some updated pics soon.

  18. only advice i can give is, get a grinder or a TIG for smaller welds.
  19. but nobody answered my first question, just out of curiousity how much does a fairly aggressive port and polish job usually run people with p-90's? the local auto machine shop told me he would call me back after he pulled the records from previous p-90 jobs but he never got back to me....thanks
  20. i as well need advice on a turbo setup. i'm also doing this on a budget, being 17 really slows things down. i want to build a setup from the beginning to where if i wanted more power in later stages i could just upgrade the turbo, so my question is how much did you guess with port/polished heads pay? (please specify how much work was done) thank you
