  1. sounds like a good "hybrid" (LOL) to me
  2. or you could go to some place like tire depot and get some cheapo tires but like 225 width...it may stick out a little but it will grip better...as long as your suspension is good and not lowered...
  3. ahahaha...that lancer was good until it started misfiring...that little blue front wheel drive tried to do donuts...lol
  4. get new struts...they are supposed to push out fairly quickly. My struts were like that. Mine were a green-blue metalic color though. I just got illuminas. Well worth the money. the coils are probably tokico springs...
  5. hahaha...let's sort out those purists and make them known...
  6. well I am guessing we can stop the poll now...I don't think anything will catch up with the SBC...
  7. pretty cool...any frame rail rust?
  8. good idea...how about rally too? lol just slap some tall soft springs on and soft shocks or illuminas on 1...
  9. I voted for the buick GN. I think it is an interesting setup and is not done every other hybridz... sbc would be easy... bbc could be insane... could do some sort if I6...Toyota, Bimmer or a Nissan motor. Expensive but really cool...
  10. but you can basically build a vw from parts from a catalog...chassis and all...lol. That Rustang should be pretty good...just slap a set of flowmasters on there and it will sound sweet! about the t-bird...which motor did the SVO version have? was that the v8? it had so many different motors...
  11. yeah...that's right...just turbo coupe... You could also get an early 90's miata...1.6L motor making about 90 horsepower...and really good gas mileage.
  12. haha...ok. having a 100 horse bug is like having a 200-220 horse Z...pretty nice ratio there...I was about to get a bug and do the offroad stuff but I found the z first...probably want a car than be a project car in 5 years when you wear it out...ford T-bird turbo super coupe? it has the standard 2.3L 4 cylinder and is a pretty good driver...
  13. ...you should just give them away... I got the flame one for $49 and then added a 10% "student discount" for being in welding school. It was at a "sidewalk sale".
  14. what did mike get for his birthday??? probably had every family member buy him a Z...00001, 00002, 00003, and 00004 all from 1970...
  15. you have the ONLY 280Z that has "stock" sweet looking bumpers...that I have seen at least.
  16. you could do this to the little 1.6...
  17. get an old vw bug...30+mpg...and you can modify it to your heart's content all for under $7000!!!
  18. I got my QA1 springs from Summit for $37 each. Just get everything except the coils if you can and get some better, lower rate coils. I am running 225f/250r and it is as stiff as I would want it for the street. I think those insane coil rates would explode your struts in a couple thousand miles if not less.
  19. wow..makes the Z look snub-nose...
  20. I think someone tried it and it did not look right...it was on the original moparts site...
  21. cut mine out...I streched this pic of my car out because it just looks too weird as short as it is. I just need to section in some steel and it will be as long as everyone elses Z...
  22. new clutch and flywheel, coilovers, illuminas, wheels and tires, overpriced MSA brakes, and other miscelanious stuff to keep it running that comes to like 5-6 grand there...Soon I plan to start aquiring the stuff to build this motor or go with a turbo motor and rebuild it next summer.
  23. problem is that you could build two 300 horsepower L6 N/A Zs for the price of that motor...
  24. finally got it back together and took it for a test drive. I spent all day finishing the front harness and then putting all the body panels back on. Changed the oil too. I think the last time I changed it was in December 600 miles ago. I think I am low on gas too. Gas gauge is long gone... of course the car in the background is slow as mud...with it's turbo and all... . I have like 2500 hours of work at least in the Z and maybe 9-10 grand in 2.5 years including buying it...the Porsche back there has like 12-13k into it overall and it cost $6500 and all that in less than a year. Mine is more fun to throw around...the Z weighs like 1200 pounds less than the Porsche.
  25. I have heard several people saying that about their Z and I know that even with a stock grind on a 260 that can't be possible. I'll try to get a driving vid showing the RPMs when I finish my wiring this week. I am done with the front half of my harness and the rear is coming up tonight. It is just really hot in my garage now.
