  1. I have the standard 225f/250r and that is as stiff a you would want to go on the street. With my Illuminas on 5 it is hard like a go cart and can lock up a front wheel pretty easily.
  2. evel knievel had a sweet chopped Z...let me go find it... well it's not chopped but it is highly modified... maybe it is chopped... notice the scaab fenders WITH flares...wide... I know where there is a Z with that same body kit is in a junkyard...flares and all. Except an L-88 hood, different front and missing the whale tail...who knows it could be the same car...it even has the same wheels... 4 lug up front and 5 in back...nah...the one in the junkyard still has it's quarter window though
  3. You could just cram some tube over a specially shaped cone of steel and form some that way. And then weld on the roundbar...
  4. it's not the fastest car ever nor does it have the best 0-60 time but it can do anything...I even drew up a floating version... I was thinking why not have an event where it was all day of racing. You have one car and it started with autocross, oval track, drifiting (just to please everyone), rally(dirt and pavement), hill climb, mud bog, big rocks, and desert race at night. How cool would that be? 10 sets of wheels/tires and a megaload of different coilover springs...onboard air jacks...change springs in seconds.
  5. ok...I drew up a design fo a little car idea I had a while back. It would have a stockpile of parts so you could change it from an offroad 4x4 to a rally car to an autox car really fast. all you would have to change is springs and tire/wheel combos. It would be completely cockpit adjustable for the shocks. I was thinking a 2-2.5 liter supercharged engine putting out 250-300 horsepower. Would like a 6 cylinder either flat or V configuration. The car is too small for an L-series motor. Maybe an SR motor. Weight would be around 2200-2500 depending on setup. Here is an old diagram I made several years ago before I even knew what welding was. If it looks like the tumbler it is a coincidence because I drew it before Batman Begins came out. this is pretty old so forgive my 14 year old never done cad MSPaint drawings...I may post a new drawing some other time...but you get the idea... this version I drew was basically vw type 1 running gear. The body and cage are the only really thing I would use...it would have dual A-arms all the way around.
  6. well sometimes it blinks slow when it starts getting low. Then it gets intermintent and then it stops all together. spraying blinker fluid on the wires is a tempororary fix...just fill er up...
  7. The tumbler... I was thinking about building a small version on a vw bug chassis... check the front wheels...black steelies wrapped in hoosiers...I like... And I would have a different one for every occasion... and then my z for track days...
  8. I was thinking of somewthing like that...but right at the end of the header... Imagine the boost lag from that setup...I heard someone say that there is no more lag but when you try to compress air it compresses fairly easily so when the turbo would be pumping full boost then the front of the car would take some time to get the full boost from the back of the car...
  9. http://www.leftlanenews.com/2006/05/10/top-gear-koenigsegg-bentley-rolls-royce/ er...spelling..Koenigsegg
  10. I wonder if I could do that with my l26 with SUs and header...maybe mount the turbo right behind the header...pump like 5 psi...with 10:1 cr...Mostly N/A...lol
  11. here 92 octane premium is right at $3.05 a gallon...it was like $2.75 last week for 3 days then it went back up...
  12. yep...the only problem is that the strut insert has to take forces of accelerating and decellerating so I don't think that it would be acceptable as a suspension member. Plus since the push rod attaches to a rocker bar then camber would change through travel...oh wait...I just had an idea to fix any camber change throughout full travel...hmm... it would be complex though... I think anything you do to get the springs off of the struts would help. It would be hard to do the front suspension though. Rear would not be that hard. You could fit 15x9s under stock rear fenders!
  13. I saw one of these versions before.
  14. this hit me like a brick wall the other day...why even have a coil over the strut? why not relocate it via pushrod (heavy duty) inside the vehicle or even mounted to the outside of the control arm? this way you could use 6" of backspacing with really fat tires. Just a thought that came across me when I was installing my coilovers...the purpose was to increase tire clearance and add adjustablity and cheap springs...why not go all the way?
  15. Mine were from preformance plastics. The sticker says it was made in 1986. http://www.performanceplastics.com/index.shtml I don't know if this is the company or not. They don't really make parts but make raw plastic for moulding.
  16. well they do have a lot of sand in south GA...
  17. haha...fat chance...My dad is the only other person to drive my car since I have owned it...oh wait my mom drove it once...I watched her drive off with it...that was scary...lol
  18. on that video I seriouly downgraded it before I uploaded it since I figured soo many people would want to watch it...it makes it faster to upload too. I am going to get under there today and tighten everything back up because the polyurethane is getting settled in and loosens everything up...
  19. sent you a pm 2003z...
  20. paintball ( I have a Tippmann m98 basic w/ a 20 in. barrel and play the longbow/ambush position) It is not so much the gun but the player...but the gun sure does help...I played with my stock gun forever but then I got the barrel and was very happy with the accuracy increase over stock. I Made a ghille (pronounced gillE) suit that I use for ambushes and places with little cover...I only have about $500 into gear so it is not that much. I have spent caboodles on paint though. My tippy has had about 17k rounds fired through it. I also have an electronic blue spyder AMG for sale(originally $400) for $100 and it needs a few small ticket items but it shoots very nice. I also weld MIG (any position), TIG (and TIG-AC for aluminium), SMAW (any position), oxyfuel cutting, plasma cutting...an can learn others fairly quickly. I am about to graduate with a 2 year degree in welding and joining technology.
  21. before I leave tomorrow to work from 8-2 I need to tighten all of the bolts in the rear suspension back down...polyurethane has worn in and everything is loose again... The clutch is wearing in very nicely and grabs really Awesome!!! good night all
  22. OH!!! I think that is the guy that lives like 5 miles from me!!! his Z is flat black...cowl hood...msa type 2 bodykit...fits perfectly...plus look at the trees and his hat...definitely GA...
  23. don't know...he said the head was too big to mount on the wall...and I don't think he had enough freezer space for half a car worth of meat...
  24. I read that it was supposedly 800 pounds and not 1000. plus the tusks don't look 9 inches long compared to the guy's hand...
