  1. It seems it always starts the same: Just a few mods for this reason or that and then next thing you know it's Viper fryer.
  2. Hey Tony, Glad to see you back at it. The engine and all looks good. Any idea of a completion time?
  3. You really ought to think about upgrading that turbo. I know you've said it a million times but, really at this rate I give you under a year (6 months) before your asking about big turbos. Theres nothing wrong with that it's just a move in the right direction. I never used the 370's but, I know Len did and liked them. You might look him up and PM him and ask about how he made them work.
  4. Come on, your not going to buy two of them for Twin Turbos.
  5. Do a search for 280 zx brake upgrades and you'll find several good post. If you look down the page a little bit you'll see one of my post about using Wilwood calipers on a ZX.
  6. Same here, It really confuses passangers that are not familar with the tricks of driving and riding in the car. I have to think I would try to move the seat over some before cutttng them up. If that didn't work then you could cut on them.
  7. I've had good luck with the KVR pads. They've been on for about 30,000 miles and still have pad left. No dought they are not the end all be all pad but, not bad for the price and longivity. Good fluid and a real knowledge of what the ZX brakes will do once or twice but, not ten times in a row helps. Can't wait to get the Wilwoods on and broken in.
  8. Heres the link to the K-Mac stuff. I didn't find any pictures of the products. http://www.k-mac.com.au/ And the Penultimate crossmember looks nice. It's 450 + core + shipping. Looks like it would really be the way to go if the money was there for that part of a project. http://www.bendareadatsuns.com/Shoppagefiles/Penutimatepage/Penultimatepage.htm More stuff http://www.dimequarterly.tierranet.com/articles/tech_crossmember_slotting.html
  9. I never even thought about all that. Thats really crazy!!
  10. Having also been a cat person I would say that the two must know each other or something like that. The cat is not in the defensive mode or attack mode that it would need to take to have any chance against a bird such as that. One on One my money is on the bird. Chances are the cat would hall A** as soon as it could. Any of the cats that I've had knew when to fight and when to run. Only if cornered would any normal cat take a a bird like that.
  11. Also the higher pressure rating will keep the combintation from boiling over until a higher temp. Another thing is that it will help to prevent localised boiling in the head and such.
  12. Nice Kill!! Boost is good!!! I know what ya mean about surprising people in thier new cars. I killed a guy in a 350Z the other day on the highway and he and his girl just couldn't believe it. I think he was one of the few 350Z drivers that actually knew what my car was. The best is killing the late model F-Body cars. Those guys think they car beat anything on the road.
  13. No proublems with my with the two different Autometer mechanical boost gauges that I've had. I now have 4 Autometer gauges in the car and have no proublems with them. The only proublem I've ever had was with my EGT gauge and that was because I didn't have a good ground wire for it. Changed my ground from the factory wire to a spot in the dash and have had no proublems since.
  14. The only experience I've ever had with an electric boost gauge is the factory one that was way off. The mechanical gauges are very popular and are the most common setup.
  15. I checked Autozone.com and they gave me the same part #'s for both the 82/83 and the 84 rotors. I thought that sounded funny. Sorry for the mis info.
  16. I did a little searching and it looks like the 82/83 and the early 300zx rear disc are the same part number.
  17. Well, with the JSK kit your locked into the Superlites. I'm looking at the added weight (superlite vs dynalite) and larger pad as being better able to handle the everyday stress of the daily grind. It's not like my brakes get a workout every day but, as my power to weight ratio goes down the stock setup hasn't been able to keep up the way it needs to. It basically brakes (no pun intended) down to the power ratio of a C5 Corvette with late 70's brake tech. Not that it hasn't served me well but, my needs have gone past it's design requirments. jt1 What kind of heat does it take to turn rotor into the cracked up pieces in that picture?
  18. Heres the link that has the info on Afshin's set up. Looks like he went with the Forged Superlite Caliper. http://hybridz.org/nuke/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=34756&highlight=
  19. I did some more research and found this info about the Dynalite version of the Wilwood calipers. I'm sure the same merits that make the forged caliper btter for the Dynalite would apply for the Superlite aswell. Not only that they are 40 bucks cheaper. What is the difference between the Wilwood Billet Dynalite Calipers and the new Forged Dynalites? Many of the calipers on the site shown are the Billet Dynalite Calipers. The calipers that we are now providing in many of our kits are the upgraded Forged Dynalite Calipers. These calipers are new from Wilwood (well, they have been out for a few months), and since their release, we have been using them in place of the Billet Dynalites in our kits, and when sold separately. The great thing about these calipers is that they are the exact same in dimensions (piston sizes and outer dimensions), but they are much stronger. The forging process makes them a lot more rigid.
