I don't know why , but my money is on Scottie . Yes, we all need a video of this one! !M!

I know when I was a newbie, I never even saw the search button on here untill someone mentioned it. I think that the button should be bigger with words like, "Before you post, see if your answer is already here." It might help out the new guys a bit. It was just a thought, because the button just sort of blends in with everything else and you don't really see it. !M!

Damn, that's pretty fast for a stock body car. I love the picture on the last page with the guy standing next to his 200mph Q45 with the 'chute attatched to the back. Imagine pulling into a high class restaurant with that thing nad have a vallet park it! Probably isn't very steetable, but I still got a cool mental picture . !M!

Can someone verify these Maxima brackets?
CruxGNZ replied to opie's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
I'll see if I can get a photo for you guys. My digital camera is on the fritz, so I'll see what I can do. !M! (Mat) -
Take a wild guess where the starter is. Pretty HOT design IMO, but compact . Would work great in a Fiero! If you go to thier page, check out the projects. The sand buggy that's pictured in the upper left is pretty bad@ss! I have lots of pictures of it, if anyone is interested. !M!

Wheels, yeah, again...
CruxGNZ replied to strotter's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
Looks like part #0280-5705 or #0289-5705 will work for you without spacers or adaptors. Rolling the fenders will all depend on what tires you will run. !M! -
Can someone verify these Maxima brackets?
CruxGNZ replied to opie's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
Doug, If you don't have the rotors yet for the swap, I have brand new rotors (only 12 miles on them), name a price if you're interested. I switched to slotted solid rotors. !M! -
Never heard thier show, but I hear they are still going to get paid for the rest of the year. They both get something like $5,000,000 a year!!!!! !M!
-
Hmmm, I guess I heard wrong about how much they get paid. I was just within earshot when I heard that over talk radio. Oh well, that's still a butt load of cash! !M!

Well said Kevin, well said. !M!

Nismo280zEd, Try the search function. It's in the upper right hand corner of your screen. Type in "camber plates" and you will come up with 79 total posts dealing with camber plates. Lot's of information for you to read. Oh yeah, it may just be my computer, but the link in your first post doesn't work. !M!

Need to replace front '73 240Z strut
CruxGNZ replied to CruxGNZ's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
MikeS - I haven't had time to install anything yet. I've just been to busy with work lately (I build houses for a living). I was hoping to get around to it this weekend, but I need another strut. I like to get things all done at one time rather than little by little, so I'm going to wait untill I get another strut, that's just the way I am. When I finish, you are still more than welcome to check them out. auxilary - I wasn't planning on spending any more than $50 on a new used one. I think I'll hold out for a little longer to see if I can find one around here first rather than paying for the strut AND shipping. I really appreciate the offer though, thanks man. Also, this is funny, I can't remember which side needs to be replaced DUH... crap, I'll have to go look . zank - Auto zone has them for $30???? Are you talking about the strut cartridge or the strut itself? Thanks guys, the search continues, for a few more days... !M! -
Some of you may remember me having some troubles getting a stuck strut cart. out of my front strut (I had a lot of fun trying to get it out ). Well, I was informed that a 240Z was at a junkyard and I could go and pull another strut off that one, because my original one was FUBAR from trying to get the cart out, plus the cart never came out . I went to the junkyard and it was sold, the junkyard was SOLD! The 240Z was crushed along with many, many other vehicles. Now, in Wisconsin, not a lot of these Z's are around anymore, junkyards or otherwise. So, I most likely will not find another 240Z just laying around for me to get a strut off of. I tried doing a search and really didn't come up with anything, but what years of Z's can I get another front strut from for my '73 240Z? I know that there are different sizes and different I.D. or was it O.D.? Anyways, I have coilovers bought for my 240Z already, waiting to get installed, but I need another strut to be able to finish the suspension. Can you guys help me out? !M!

Wow! I have never seen that kind of destruction from a rotory before, I wonder what blew? Made for a hell of a show though ! I felt destructive when I got home today, but after seeing that video, my destructive appetite has been curbed... for now. Thanks Scottie! !M!

Need help! Removing the strut cart.
CruxGNZ replied to CruxGNZ's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
Oh crap... okay, I reread my last post and I kinda sounded like a whiney little bitch . No, I wasn't offened, just thought I would explain so you guys didn't think I was an idiot or something. It's cool guys. Anyways, I'm getting a new (junkyard) strut. This one has to be bent out of shape by now. I will take your advice Jim and get my revenge on that strut! . Oh well, I'm just hoping that I don't have the same problems with the new one. Thanks for trying to help me out guys . No hard feelings alright? !M! -
Need help! Removing the strut cart.
CruxGNZ replied to CruxGNZ's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
I was heating the strut tube, not the cartridge, the oil came pouring out from heating the tube red hot. I am familiar with how metals react to heating and cooling Jim . Most of the heat was concentrated at the bottom of the strut, that's where I figured it would probably be stuck. The first picture shows me just screwing off, kinda a bad picture I guess. So, how am I supposed to heat the strut tube, without heating the cart through convection Jim? If the chain or strap broke, both vehicles are insured. The depth of the picture is deceiving, the gas meter is about 12 ft. away, the same length as the chain, so no problems there. I'm just using the tools that I have readily available to me. It just so happens that I can use a couple of trucks to try and get a strut cart out of a strut, I'm just being resourcefull guys. Besides taking it to a shop where they give you a can of vasiline along with your bill, how would you have done it ? !M! -
Need help! Removing the strut cart.
CruxGNZ replied to CruxGNZ's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
DAMNIT! This thing is really STUCK!! Jim, I did drill a hole and empty most of the oil (stinky). In the top picture, you can see that the remaining oil is just pouring out of the hole that I made, because of the heat. Man, I got that sucker RED HOT!! Still, no go. In case you are wondering, yes, I did heat it at the bottom as well, I was just having some fun making the oil flow out of the top . In the last picture, the Chevy was actually draging all four of the Fords tires GO CHEVY! Well, I got a lead as to where a 240 is sitting in a pick'n pull, I'll just have to get a strut from that one. Hopefully, I'll have better luck removing the cart from the junkyard strut. -
Yeah, I didn't see any boobs either, ah... I mean hoods . !M!

Mike C, someone on here makes those sleeves you talk about. I think it was Ross, but I may be wrong. !M!
