  1. Haha, your "Toothipus" rocks Who's white Z is that on page 7?
  2. Well, found that side view. I had to go back all the way to '01 in my archives! Lots and lots of photos! Anyways, it's not what I remembered it to be. It doesn't jut out from the hood like I thought.
  3. Scale - Oxidation of metal due to heat resulting in relatively heavy surface layers of oxide. Isn't that rust? I tried looking for pictures on the interweb, but couldn't find any. Wait, nevermind... found some more info. : Oxidation - The addition of oxygen to a compound. Exposure to atmosphere sometimes results in oxidation of the exposed surface, hence a staining or discoloration. This effect is increased with temperature increase. Okay, NOW I understand At any rate, the area's that I welded were ground down a bit and cleaned up with a sanding disc, but I didn't even think to use cleaner, like acetone. I'll remember to clean a spot for the ground everytime from now on. I learned a lot in this thread. I have been wanting to go to a welding class at the local college, but 3 times a week at 4 hours a day is a bit much. Maybe when I get a TIG welder, I'll make time to take classes.
  4. Okay, just a thought... the metal that I purchased had a thin layer of something grey on it to prevent rust from forming. I didn't use my angle grinder to clean up a spot on the metal for the ground, because the area I was welding was within inches of where the ground was. Should I have cleaned the spot down where the ground was attached? Could this also have been my problem? I just figured, it's metal ,with no crap on it (rust, dirt, paint) so, why should I clean it, right? I placed the ground on the metal, wiggled it back and forth to make sure it's seated nice, and went on to weld. Should I have done differently?
  5. I'm to tired to post findings, but you will be suprised at what the posts following will show. Octane is not as it's advertised.
  6. Another Wisconsin Z'er! I agree with j260z, your shocks and springs must be tired. If you need a hand with your car, seriously, let me know, I'll help you out.
  7. He is MOVING! And, he still had more in it I love this car and it's pretty cool to see him do his John Force burnouts in other videos. intmd8_199.wmv and the thread... Click here
  8. I'll see if I can find that side shot. turbo_fb's air dam is more flush with the hood than the other one. I'll find it in my thousands of photos (I save almsot everything I see on the 'net) and post it up.
  9. I tried to give you 3 1/2 stars, but it would only let me do 3.
  10. I know I saved both front and side shots of that Z. You want me to post the other shot? It didn't look all that great from the side if I recall correctly. It jutted out to far in my opinion. It was different and that's why I liked it, but look at the way he mounted it. There has to be a better way.
  11. It's actually an aftermarket piece for the Toyota Supra. When that picture first surfaced years ago, there was a guy who posted that knew the guy that did the work for it to fit on a S30. He said that the guy cut it in half, then pieced it back together to fit the width of the Datsun. Also said the guy did a few of these on the side, but this is the only picture floating around as far as I know. EDIT: Oops, there is another picture of that same car, but it's just the side view. It shows how it fits the front rather akwardly.
  12. Yeah, I saw that too. Two new guys took over his show. The one guy is okay (althought it sounds like he got kicked in the junk a few to many times), but the dude with the muscles is a freakin' retard! Instantly pissed me off. It's like the producers wanted to 'sell' the show and try to make it cool. What crap. Speaking of crap, have you seen the Muscle Car show? Again, one guy that is thrown into the show to try and make it cool (I HATE the way he talks!), and another guy that seems like he knows what he is doing. T.V. for us sucks nowadays. Overhaulin' bites the big one now, Rides is still okay though... and if anyone caught Rides tonight with Billy F. Gibbons, that was a VERY cool show! Even had a faded red S30 in one of the shots. Billy Gibbons is the epitome of cool. The guy rocks
  13. Any pictures of the blue Z in the staging lanes in your last picture, and of the white and green Z, and... heck, just more pictures of all of those please! I had no idea that there were even that many Z cars over in Kuwait. That is really, really cool!
  14. That is crazy! There is so much detail! Very cool
