  1. I've finally decided to go ahead with my RB swap, and now I can't the pan or strainer. Strainer was dicountinued in May 08, and the Pan in Aug 08. Can the stock RB25 oil pan be cut and welded so the sump is in the back?
  2. I put the 240SX Caliper w/ 300ZX rotor swap on my car a few years ago, but I could never get the E-brake to engage properly. It does not seem to be getting enough "throw" from the stock cable. Has any one else come across this issue? Do I need to re-orientate the stock cable some how when you do this swap?
  3. cars looking great. I see how you got the Tach working, but how did you get the speedo to work? I want to keep all the stock gauges in my Z.
  4. Epoxy is always an option. But if I can braze it on it would be better.
  5. It looks like the bung is cooper, and the tank is steel.
  6. I know most people are trying to get rid of this tank. And I can find plenty of threads on how to get rid of it. I'm replacing all of the lines in my fuel sytem. (Figured that 35 years was long enough) But when I removed the lines off the recovery tank the bungs came off with the hoses. Can I reinstall them the same way I do my copper plumbing in the house? Or do they need to be welded on?
  7. Most of the complete manuals (800 plus pages) that I've seen have a complete schematic for the entire car. They are almost always the last 10-15 pages.
  8. I have to say that the Sunroof on iaconsultants car is very nice. And the installation looks very professional. That said, I don't think I could ever put one into my Z. Most if not all of these that I've seen look like cheap dollar store junk. That are just as badly installed. But iaconsultants car is that exception to the rule I quess.
  9. That's very true. Driving a Z is risky enough, without having a seat that'll crumble on impact. If your just trying to rice out the car go for it, they're not that badly styled. But I would not trust them to protect me.
  10. I quess for 2 seats it's not a bad price. I like the Comp Z on the bottom of the page. I does look like you'll have to make a custom bracket for the sliders.
  11. It looks loke they are all the same seat, but with different logos stiched on them. For that kind of money I would go for a Corbeau ($320 Shipped), since I've never heard of that seat.
  12. It's been awhile now. Have they found your clip yet.
  13. The Headrest was removable on those seats. And the seats posted so far are sweet! But dam $2K for those reproduction seats is steap. The Corbeau seats are a nice altenative, just need to get the center redone with the ribbing going the other direction. I'm still 99% sure that the seats I saw had a fabric insert, done in the same style as above.
  14. I realize that the majority of Z's are on the West Coast, but does anyone know of a good shop in NJ?
  15. HID are a VERY bright light, and need to be controlled with some type of projector assembly. Most states are now outlawing the installation of HID into cars that where not originally equipped with them from the factory. Mainly because they blind oncomming traffic if not properly installed, and to deter theft.
  16. As far as I know (At least in NJ) you can only use a High Pressure Gun in a Booth with the proper air handlers. A HVLP gun can be used almost anywhere. Another option would be to do all of the prep work on the car, and get it ready for the the final color. Bring it to a good shop, and have them shoot the car for you.
  17. They are just cheaply made junk. You get what you pay for.
  18. Almost exactly to these. The only diff was the insert. I'm almost positive it looked like a houndstooth. If it helps, the thread that I saw them in was about the 10K RPM Datsun Tach.
  19. The stock Z runs power to the headlights through the switch. And with 30+ yr old wiring the power reaching the lights is reduced. (There is a write up that goes into more detail about this in the forum.) By using the relays you route the power directly from the batt to the lights, and remove the stress from the switch. It will improve your brightness if you are not getting full voltage to your lights.
  20. Does anyone have a pic of the Z432 optional racing bucket seats? I saw a pic on one of the many forums that I vist, but now I don't have a clue where I saw it. If I'm not mistaken it had what looked like a houndstooth insert with 3 breathers in each of the horizontal pleats.
  21. This is a kit from Summit's catalog. http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=AMC%2D509102&N=700+311187+115&autoview=sku Very easy to install. And almost as easy to make yourself. There is a lot of good stuff on Ebay, but you need to be carefull of what and who you buy from. This is what you should get: http://www.datsunrestore.com/catalog.html Datsun 240Z 260Z 280Z H4 Light Conversion Kit Bright White 60/55 Xenon Bulbs & 7" Housings Kit Converting your Datsun sealed beam headlight system gives you a whole new range of lighting options. Instead of the limited choices available with sealed beams headlights, and the few manufacturers that make them, you will now be able to use xenon bulbs, colored bulbs, any replaceable bulb to give you the look you want! In addition, our housings provide superior beam patterns. The DELTA 7" Headlamp replacements for sealed beam and Halogen headlights feature European lead crystal precision optics with "E" Mark Certification. The "six step finish" reflector provides a precise reflecting parabola. These lamps are powered by H4 Xenon Hyper-White 60/55-watt replacement bulbs, which projects a hyper-white bluish beam that will outperform any standard Halogen H4 bulb. The DELTA Headlamp kit is also equipped with a Rubber Boots to protect the optic unit from dust and moisture. This is a plug in and go kit, no modifications needed. Our housing kits come with: Two glass housings One pair high output xenon super white bulbs One pair of rubber socket covers to keep sockets clean and dry You Zcar H4 Light Conversion Kit
  22. I got these on my Z last year and they work great. Another good idea is to upgrade the wire harness. http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=AMC%2D509102&N=700+311187+115&autoview=sku This one from summit is what I got. I like the H4's over HID because HID require the correct headlight bucket design to keep them from blinding oncomming drivers.
  23. That sucks man! But at least it's close. Hope you get it soon. Can Tiger sent you some pics of what they shipped you, so you can compare it to what UPS delivers.
  24. Mabe just a little. (I think I was just bored) Sorry:bonk: But you are correct! His listing has alot of grammar and spelling problems. And yes I know there are a lot of scamers on ebay. I've been burned a few times myself. If your going to take the time to list something on Ebay, no matter what the price, make sure that it's presentable. A typo here and there is OK, but your description has to make sence aswell.
  25. Does anyone know if it is possiable to remove the needles from the gauges? (Inorder to modify the face.) And then get them back on so that they still read correctly.
