  1. I think at WOT I was going under boost around 2500ish. I dont have a boost guage yet, but I recall watching it in MT. You should definitely be under boost by 3500, if not sooner...

  3. Just 8psi, non intercooled, 91 octane, 8.8:1, and too much timing. The AFRs are good, its just I really need to hook up spark and find a factory heat shield for the intake. I just thought maybe a colder plug would be a little safer in the vegas heat or the occasional crappy fuel. Also of course as a band-aid until my lazy ass hooks up spark...
  4. Does the colder plug help THAT much with pinging? A more appropriate solution would be running less timing, but maybe colder plug and aggressive timing makes more power? I've never delved that far into the realm of plug heat ranges...

  6. Did the stock turbo use a stronger or second throttle return spring? I am using the NA intake setup and when the turbo spools up quickly, it sucks the pedal to the floor...

  8. Are you sure youre not hearing pinging? Mine had a rat-a-tat-tat around 4500 and it was from too much timing under boost with cheap fuel...

  10. I pulled my muffler off the other day to see how it would sound and decided to go with the open pipe after all. It kinda idles like a v8 with a little turbo spool audible, but definitely gets noticed at WOT.   11. Mine is (sort of) mounted behind the passenger seat. I could put a plexi panel with cool leds in there for cheap, but I am still kinda fond of the homebrew look of the regular case...

  14. So if the turbo is unbalanced, it wont buzz continuously? It seems to happen only at 0 manifold vaccum (right around 90-95kpa). It spools up nice and smooth and is very consistant. The only vacuum devices that are hooked up is the vac advance and aux air valve. No bov (yet). I have considered putting in a check valve backwards to use boost to keep the egr valve shut. I guess I will give that a try...
  15. A repost from zcar, not much help there... I did my turbo conversion on my NA motor and everything is pretty good. However, right about when manifold pressure goes positive, I get a momentary buzzing noise (like a bee or a party favor?). I eliminated the bcdd, egr, and even the fast idle doohickey from the AC. The only last think I can think of is the aux air deal. Did the turbo models use a different valve, or could mine just be broken? Any other ideas? There was almost zero shaft play in the turbo, so I'm pretty certain it is something else... Thanks guys, I'm hoping maybe somebody here has encountered the same problem.
  16. Sounds awesome! Exactly how loud is it? I am looking at some options for raising the sound level of my exhaust and open pipe was an option. I am kinda disappointed with how quiet it is with the turbo now...
  17. Check/post a datalog and your configuration to help us help you. You may be getting noise in the tach signal or tps signal or an enrichment isn't set right...
  18. If you go with a v3 board with MSnS-e, I have a good fuel only map to get you started...

  20. Even if you cant afford the full sealing system, a couple passes with marine clean and a coathanger/rag rig should get it hella cleaner...
  21. For around $50 you can pick up a new electric pump and a couple clear fram filters to sort the whole mess out for good. AFAIK, that is not the stock pump. As I recall, the electric pump on my 260Z was kinda bulky and made mostly out of plastic...
  22. 24lb turbo injectors with hook right up to the stock fuel rail and should give you plenty of fuel to play with. Otherwise you could go for junkyard injectors and a pallnet rail. I got some 33lb(?) injectors from a funky ford tbi setup and a special pallnet rail to fit them. The holes for the injectors in the intake had to be drilled out a bit, but they work perfectly and were super easy to find...
