  1. As long as mine is still NA, the IAT is a gm coolant sensor that lives tucked behind the harness in front of the radiator. When it is turbo, I plan on an open element sensor in the intake piping. I wouldnt be worried about heat-soak, but the sensor getting damaged from engine vibration...
  2. If you run the fuel pressure too high, you can cause the injectors to not open properly. This would make tuning really interesting...
  3. To reach that kind of power level you are looking at some form of forced induction and a standalone ems. Just a warning before you get flamed really bad, spend some time searching and reading through these forums...
  4. It may not apply to your setup, but running fuel only I had to add a small resistor to clean up the tach signal. If anything, you may be getting a lot of noise in the signal from the CAS...
  5. Ok, I knew it was something like that but not the GM sensor...
  6. Unforgiving is accidently putting in the wrong jets and kaboom. AFAIK, a predictable intercooler and forged pistons are almost a requirement...
  7. I thought the MPX4115 was on the V3 boards. Maybe you will want to check the barometric pressure with your location...
  8. I have always been tossing the idea of making an injector/throttle body adapter plate to put two 50mm TBs and four big injectors on an SU manifold...
  9. It is no different from a carb'd car. If it isnt tuned properly, of course it will fail...
  10. It is one of the temp sensors or thermotime switch that go in the thermostat housing. Im not sure which one, but if your car blows black smoke or the temp guage doesnt work, you will know what it WAS for...
  11. The head temp sensor uses a fuel injector connector and has a bosch temp curve. The numbers come preloaded into easytherm, but be aware that the gm defaults are fahrenheit and the bosch defaults are in celsius. I just copied down the bosch numbers and plugged em back in...
  12. Not to say that it would be impossible to use a laptop as the brains of an efi setup, but all the work it would take makes it very impractical. The reason some cheap 16Mhz processor can do it better than say an 800mhz laptop is that there is absolutely no overhead or gimmicks on the side. The megasquirts cpu can count on every cycle to its specific purpose. In a laptop (or desktop etc), every piece of hardware and software is taking dibs on processor cycles. This would make it very difficult to maintain the timing precision required for fuel injection. Also imagine if youre primary means of transportation were only as reliable as Winblows XP. If you want a keyfob type disabler, you could embed a critical component of the megasquirt, such as the 5v voltage regulator, into a keyfob and mount a plugin for it somewhere...
  13. I was considering using my mini-itx too, but an 8" touch screen is around $300...
  14. It would be totally possible to build a megatunix linux livecd for xbox, but where is the demand?
  15. Good point evildky! I used the stock head temp sensor and used the bosch values in easytherm...
  16. The e12-80 is the stock ignition module on the side of 79-82 NA ZX dizzies...
  17. Looks good! I assume that is a profe$$ional setup? Does anybody have any experience with the lower end washer fluid type setups?
  18. Let us know when you can do flanges for downpipes and aluminum intake flanges...
  19. Correct me if im wrong, but on typical turbo swaps isnt the norm to put a filter on the valve cover and re-route the pcv to before the turbo inlet? I know factory turbos are setup a bit differently, but they have federal emissions to report to...
  20. I dont know about using a PS2, but I would be happy to see an updated version of MegaView someday...
  21. Yea, I was assuming a v3 board, but still too easy...
  22. It would seem to me that the top hei module could be replaced by an E12-80 and the bottom replaced by the onboard VB921...
  23. You might try it on the LT1 and sell the gm parts to some f-body guy for some $$$. I personally love being in complete control of the engine...
  24. Theres nothing wrong with that. During my initial setup, I had a 19" CRT monitor in the passenger seat and a mini-itx computer on the floorboard...
