  1. Love the Paint man!! The stance on that car is perfect! Mario is right on, sounds like my brother's after his BOV changed tones when we transplanted the motor into a 77 z and installed megasquirt ( I know that makes no sense, but it is what happened:hs:) We need to try to get an all Z car day at one of the local tracks. I can guarantee 8 Z cars from Tucson. Would be great!
  2. No. The stock insulator mounts are replaced.
  3. I just finished installing my coil overs. I purchased mine from Ground Control, I couldn't be more pleased. http://www.ground-control-store.com/products/category.php/CA=93
  4. Arizona. They are all over the place out here. The only problem being that a lot of these guys hold them like gold. I have gone over to see a straight, semi-clean 70 240 for about 2 years now to no avail. The old buzzard just won't sell it, keeps telling me he is going to make it new again someday!
  5. Second that Mr F! Check for rust where Mr. F pointed out. Buddy bought what appeared to be a super-clean S30, only to find extensive rust underneath.
  6. Awesome. I have contemplated moving there myself. My family has a bunch of land near Puebla. How is the driving down there? Have you found any good roads? How has the Z been received there, do they know what it is? Lots of questions, sorry. I haven't given up my citizenship either, I have dual.
  7. Damn, that whole set up is just sexy!!

I have great friends that helped me out more than I could ever really repay!! Driving down a mountain...........................PRICELESS!!
  9. +1 on boiling out the tank, dude. I had mine boiled out, cost around 100 bucks. Money well spent, I think. Great advice '76.
  10. Nice find! Gotta love living in Az. Any big plans yet?
  11. Hey all, This morning (Sunday August 19th) Tucson Arizona....... Some ass maggot ripped off my buddy's 1986 slick top. The guy is a complete idiot because the z is painted raspberry metallic (by my sister when it was hers) and has the later model front end (87-88 nose). A very distinctive Z to say the least! It is the one in the pic below, except it now has 85 z31 polished wheels. If any one sees this z please email tucsonzclub@yahoo.com
  12. Sounds like you're on your way!! A new 240 addict....muahahahaha!!
  13. I have some extra gauges, lets try the UV pen Idea on them Mario.
  14. I have 2 Z31's right now. I love them. I think my Z31 2+2 is the BEST highway car I have ever had, smooth acceleration, nice handling. A true GT in the best sense of the word.
  15. The sugar scoop headlights are, I think, one of the defining characteristics of the early Z. I would want to keep that aspect as much as possible.
  16. Oh man, I can't wait until the next track day!!
  17. Beautiful. The black just adds to the "meanness" of it. I like it a lot.

  19. I had an aluminum piece on my old '72 that closed the air dam underneath all the way to the crossmember. I had it stick out about 1/4 inch on the side of the air dam and gradually increase out to about an inch in the front. I had it riveted to the front of the air dam with a strip of aluminum inside to "sandwich" the urethane to help it structurally. It is painted black to match the air dam, might be hard to see.................
  20. Just adjusted valves myself, had to de-tune for emissions. re-tuned and still sounded a little clanky. That's just the way some valves are. I had heard the cam specs had something to do with this, not sure if that is true. I'd say adjust them and get used to the sound.
  21. I think innitially you would like the Miate better. After driving around wedging yourself into it, not being able to carry anything, i.e. groceries, luggage etc., you would like the z31 better. Not sure how often you would be able to take advantage of the "more spirited" driving available with the Miata. In traffic, for everyday driving, I vote z31. And, it isn't like the z31 is a road block, and it does have t-tops for open air fun.
  22. There are so many s30's in peoples yards here in Tucson. Last night a buddy and I went looking for an early 240 for my little brother, we say no less than 5 in various yards. The problem is everybody wants to think that a car sitting, rotting away in a yard is worth 10 g's.
