  1. oh. Well, I have Azenis on one car, and i'd get them for the Z if they made them in 225/50. but they don't. I have them on the neon, and this is by far the grippiest tire next to r-compound tires i've ever driven with
  2. David, you're selling tires that aren't as grippy as I need them to be, and they're 20mm too small. I have 205s on the car right now, and at 205/50 my speedo would be about 7-8mph off, on top of it being 5mph at 60 already due to 3.545 gears
  3. you know, I can EASILY produce such a picture...
  4. those are mitsu/chrysler star/con/quest seats.
  5. yeah, they're 15x7s...but kuhmo doesn't make them in 225/50/15 size though
  6. he stated that you're bidding on a certificate to purchase a 2003 dodge viper. basically, you're paying the bid to buy a ticket to stand in line to purchase it, a spot on the waiting list. people did this with the M5 for months before it came out.
  7. HAHAHHAHA!!!!!! "YO, BABY! YOU EVER HAVE YOUR ______ LICKED BY A FAT MAN IN AN OVERCOAT?!" I love J&SB
  8. Hey folks, time for me to shell out some change for new tires for the Z. I'm looking at getting 225/50/15 tires. Key notes - i live in california, so my only concern for weather is occasional rain, and I can manage with summer tires all year round if I drive carefully in the wet (which I do, I have falken azenis on my neon, and those don't grip much in the rain). I would love to get a set of falken azenis for the Z, however, they don't make it in the size I want. I would also spend money on the yokohama avs intermediates (had them on the neon before the falkens), but the problem is that they're discontinued now. Their replacements are AVS es100 tires, which are supposed to be a good combo for the street and occasional autox with good grip. They're $80/piece for 225/50/15. My question is if anyone has used the ES100 tires, and if they have any feedback? They seem to be pretty good tires, and not too bad on cost factor ($80/piece). ANy other recommendations I should look at? Keep in mind I'd like to keep costs as low as possible, and there's still a mount/balance fee to consider (another $80)
  9. Unfortunately, that doesn't cure the problem. The lift and drag still exist, and the Z in stock form will still suffer no matter what power plant is in it.

    deadly cars

those people are idiots who wrote the article. The aforementioned cars are deadliest because they have stupid drivers behind hte seat. It's not so bad - think of it as adding chlorine to the gene pool
  11. change out your tranny fluid. I did a very stupid move...or should I say, didn't do. I rebuilt the suspension and rear end on my Z, changed all the fluids except transmission (forgot to do that). Next thing I know, I'm driving up bear creek road in santa cruz, and my car starts whining insanely because the tranny overheated. I pull over and let the tranny cool down. Next day I drained the fluid, and it came out thick black crud, about 1/2 liter worth. I then put in the required 1.5 liters of new lube, and it runs like a champ (no whine)
  12. Kito, Len's talking about Earl Scheib, a chain of paintshops opened in the 70s. Originally, you could get a paintjob for a car for 29.95. But the problem was that you had to mask everything off, clean it yourself, etc. Whatever you didn't cover, they'd paint over. Forgot the windshield? Painted. Forgot tires? painted. Convertable? Painted. And the quality was that of a paintroller with runs, streaks, etc. Nowadays Earl Scheib will mask the car off, and do a cheapie paint job that will look decent. (can't say it will last long though) http://earlscheib.com/pro1.asp that's the one len's talking about. so if you want a cheapie paintjob to prevent rust for now, and to last about 2 years, that will work. Plus, they offer a warranty on their paint for at least 1 year
  13. Tomahawk, it really sucks that oregon is giving you a shitter of a time - california would probably be worse (no longer can you purchase any weapons with clips over 10rounds, and now they're working on bringing it down to 7! we can't even own ar-15s or some SKS rifles). I wish you luck! Guys, I think it'd be best for you NOT to ask for details, as well as Tomahawk not to divulge them, because anything he may accidentally release here that can find its way traced to court can have a negative impact on his case.
  14. geez, i can honestly say i wouldn't want to be alive after that

    nicest Z

Yup, my car in all the photos. Paint is 13 years old, done by the previous owner of the Z (he owns El Camino Bodyshop in santa clara). The road is bear creek road off 17 right by lexington reservoir, and the Neon pic was taken on Tunitas creek off 84. Be careful when painting a car black - I have 2, and it's a pain in hte ass to keep a black car clean

    Funny stuff

9:12 I wake up next to a strange woman. She is the bartender at Katz's. She is not pretty. HAHAHHHHA
  17. problem with a 700 ft lbs torque engine is making sure your Z doesn't twist itself into a pretzel unitbody is a good design, but just not that stuff. Think beefy rollcages!
  18. r200 was standard in 280z and zx, 1st gen 300zx, limited slip was available in 87-88 300zx turbo only. r230 came in infiniti q45, 2nd gen 300zx turbo. 300zx n/a came with r200
  19. r160 has a 160mm ring gear diameter (6.2" rear end). r200 has a 200mm ring gear (7.87" rear end). The r200 is beefier and can stand up to more abuse than the r160. R160 is better suited for 4 banger setups like on a datsun 510. Personally, I don't think it's a good idea to get an r160 for the 327 - it may not last more than several passes at the strip.
  20. first, as others pointed out, you need to have a server (site) hosting the pictures. You can upload to imagestation.com, or clubphoto.com, and others as such. Once you have the file up on the web, you can do command. so it'll be something like this: (img)http://www.yourserver.com/imagefile.jpg(/img) replace () with []
  21. it's a stunt competition, actually. still not a reason to be helmetless, let alone gearless
