Hey folks, time for me to shell out some change for new tires for the Z. I'm looking at getting 225/50/15 tires. Key notes - i live in california, so my only concern for weather is occasional rain, and I can manage with summer tires all year round if I drive carefully in the wet (which I do, I have falken azenis on my neon, and those don't grip much in the rain).
I would love to get a set of falken azenis for the Z, however, they don't make it in the size I want. I would also spend money on the yokohama avs intermediates (had them on the neon before the falkens), but the problem is that they're discontinued now. Their replacements are AVS es100 tires, which are supposed to be a good combo for the street and occasional autox with good grip. They're $80/piece for 225/50/15.
My question is if anyone has used the ES100 tires, and if they have any feedback? They seem to be pretty good tires, and not too bad on cost factor ($80/piece). ANy other recommendations I should look at? Keep in mind I'd like to keep costs as low as possible, and there's still a mount/balance fee to consider (another $80)
