  1. Add another intermediate side house and rotor housing, and you'll get the idea of how a 20b would sit in a Z
  2. look up cosmoline removal on surplusrifle.com
  3. nothing. it's parked downstairs, runs like a champ. friend buying it in about 2 weeks
  4. by the way, guys, in reference to my friend, he started a new job a while back that takes up 90% of his time, even his wife doesn't see him that often. He crossed a bridge that he needs to stay on one side of as far as the job goes, so he puts in a lot of time to make the company succeed (as it directly impacts him). I never put blame on him, but working alone on the car leaves very little motivation and ambition. It was, after all, my decision to do the swap.
  5. John: what if you get a toyota cavalier? (they do exist!)
  6. I'll be getting it sunday morning (delivery) so I won't be able to bring it to the meet. You'll see my bike instead, deal?
  7. call up Troy Emerish at Performance Exhaust Center, see what they can do... I believe they do welding/cages for 510s, why not a Z? http://www.ermish-racing.com/exhaust/exhaust.htm also, check with Z Garage in San Jose.
  8. Kerley's Sport shop in Cupertino, Ca.

  11. Dave: I got the amount I wanted You'll probably see the car on sunday, haha
  12. of course, it works here... but not in non-tech forum...?
  13. when i edit the title of a thread after i've created a topic, the changes do not show up in the forum view. if I click on the thread, then I can see the actual edit. something to look into? for example, I've added the words TEST EDIT to the title of this thread after creating it. If they do not show up, that's the problem I'm referencing
  14. called up modesto mazda: me: ok, i want an 05 3s. what can you offer me? sales guy: how about 2k over msrp me: I'm going to hang up now sg: that's what we normally sell them for me: no, you don't. either that, or you have a lot of idiots shopping in modesto sg: ok, make me an offer me: 17,700 out the door sg: you mean after registration and tax? me: yeah sg: how about 1k over msrp? me: *click*
  15. i had a 94 ford escort explode on me in 96 while driving. an 87 mercury sable sprung a fuel leak at the rail and you know, the fact that ford JUST recalled 3.8 MILLION vehicles doesn't help them out much http://www.cnn.com/2005/AUTOS/09/07/ford_recall/index.html
  16. I test drove the tC. It felt like steering a bloated pig. It felt heavy and slow in braking, handling, and acceleration. It's a fad car. And it looks excessively bland. I don't know about your experience with mazdas, but my friend's 626 ran about 180k miles before giving up. His family still has a 90 mpv with 190 on the clock, and running. Any corolla besides the XRS is slow and bland. and the XRS is way overpriced
  17. wickedwild: i'm talking about the corolla XRS. apparently they ONLY come with moonroof/6cd changer/etc package, and base msrp is 20,500. Regular corollas are 14-15k. I wanted to see if it was possible to get a stripped down corolla XRS, that would've been worth 15-16k. Given the cost of the XRS and cost of competition, it's a no-brainer
  18. Never considered the corolla. I would, if it wasn't overpriced by 5k. I'm not paying 21 grand for a damn corolla. I could get an SRT4 for that price (if I was stupid enough to buy a dodge. again)
  19. Yesterday I went to buy a car. Mazda3 2.3. here's what happened: fuckers didn't even offer to WORK with me on the price. lol. Today:
  20. b_sosick: nope, no deal. I ride it myself. Rode today, in fact! chris: negative, goatrider. pattern is full. Toyota is overpriced because of the name. Nothing in their lineup leads me to believe that toyota beaters are better than mazda beaters. My friend has an 83 626 we used to ride around in high school. it had 186k miles when it died. His family has a 90 mazda mpv van. 189k miles, burning a bit of oil, but still running. In fact, it's still daily driven. rotaries don't count
  21. update: she replied. Hi Alex I can sell you the xrs for 400 over invoice that will be 19,194, all of these seem to have the moonroof.
  22. read from bottom up: Deborah, I've already driven the car, and I was interested in making a purchase. However, the price you gave me was a "ballpark" figure that's basically the MSRP for a loaded model. What I emailed the dealership was a request for an actual quote. You haven't provided me with an actual number for the request I've made (base model corolla XRS, with power windows, power locks, and 6 speed, no sunroof, no 6 cd changer options) For example, the the competition I'm looking to buy is a Mazda3S. I sent the same quote request to several mazda dealerships, and I have an offer for 400 over invoice for a mazda3s with 2.3 liter, power everything and mp3 player option. The mazda has better finish, interior, similar same fuel economy, better warranty (4year/50k bumper to bumper), obviously better customer service than the toyota. And based on the feedback I've been getting from Toyota dealers, I think I'd rather give my business to Mazda Thanks, -alex > > > > > > > Hi Alex the incentive is to drive that car.
