  1. Well, just because they're not street legal doesn't mean people don't break rules caterham7 wouldn't pass US safety laws for crash impact, I don't think.
  2. production concept from 04 tokyo autosalon.
  3. don't know about BC, but caterham 7s and fireblades are illegal in the states. That said, I'd give z-dreamer's left nut for one
  4. update: finalized mount, maybe? Does anything look familiar to the v8 guys in the above pic? oilpan clearance steering clearance and support... think it needs more reinforcement? the plate is 1/4" thick Downpipe clearance..or at least where it's gonna go
  5. They're not used tires. The tires are brand new, you can still see the markings from factory that normally wear off within 50 miles. They were just test fitted on my Z a while back, and I took the pics. They haven't been used since I sold them, I know that much...
  6. Well, let's analyze the newbie here, shall we? a. We'll start with the username. SexyDriftGal. Used to attract attention, when in reality in 90% of the people who use "babe," "sexy," or "hot," in their usernames to attract attention from the male populace. In fact, here's a perfect flash example: http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/attention.php b. They are also falsely advertising. Ever seen a Dodge Neon with bumper sticker reading "hottie" or "princess," pull up on the side only to find a walmart reject that's obliterating the neon's suspension with her mass. c. 2 posts total. First post is a reply saying "I need an sr20det, but i need one for under 1k!" Second post is a whole new one... this one. All it says is "I need an sr20det." No "Can you please tell me where I can find an sr20det" or "where's the best place to look?" or "who are the trusted importers?".... or even a search. Just a lame newbie going "i need this."
  7. uhm... let me get this straight... you want to find an sr20det S13 motor for 1k? You could probably find a shoddy one without the turbo, tranny, ecu, or wiring harness... and wouldn't you want an s14 motor over an s13?
  8. No, I think it's more about me realizing how much money I'd lose on parts if I sold them off...
  9. CCW 16x8 wheels, brand new kumho ecsta 245/45/16 tires, -10 or so offset. Used, but very good condition. I no longer own them, but I'm wondering what they're worth
  10. I hate you bastards. I wound up spending the day fixing the mount, making the steering clear correctly, and got motivation to keep it and work on it.

  12. someone already beat you to it down the forum
  13. Japan has some funny laws when it comes to inspection, such as engine after 30k miles requiring lot of maintenance and rebuilds, even thought the motors are in perfectly fine shape. this is why we get a huge surplus of low mileage motors. The trick is, you never know what the condition of the motor is, so it's kind of like playing russian roulette
  14. Not selling the car without the engine. I'd rather sell the engine, keep the car and put something else in it, less original.
  15. I've invested probably over 17k into the car (car cost, suspension, parts, etc), and I'd like to at least get 70% of the value if possible. I know it's a lot to reach for since it's unfinished and not even running, but 11-12k is what I'd want for everything, and I mean everything. I'd rather sell it to someone as a whole set rather than part it out piece by piece
  16. I've been "not working on it for a while" for... a while. Problem is that I don't have a garage of my own, so I borrow one from my parents. I can't weld in there either, which makes things a tad difficult I was pondering selling it about a year ago and do a v8 swap. In fact, Tim was interested in the rotary for his opel, and we joked about trading LT1 for wankel.
  17. car weekend before it was dismantled for the project: Gallery of Z modifications here: http://www.datsunracing.com/gallery/240z Progress that I kept of the rotary swap here: http://www.rotaryz.com Long story short: I have no ambition or motivation to finish the project. I'm tired, I feel like I'm no longer interested in cars. The friend that instigated the idea of a rotary and volunteered his services and aid to the project hasn't helped me in over a year. I've done a rough spreadsheet to see what I spent on parts so far for the conversion, and it's over 12k so far. The Z by itself cost me 4k. I am sure I'm missing probably 1-2k in parts that I can't find the receipts for, or don't recall the item itself. So what I want is for someone to take it off my hands for a good (to me) deal. The good: -california car, 95% rust free. Rust was in the passenger seat frame rail, I cut it out, haven't replaced it. Will include bulk steel rails (a LOT of them, about 18 feet) to make rails, subframe connectors, etc. nickel size surface rust spot in rear hatch. That's it. -all suspension is done. comes with new 225/50/15 es100 tires and light ronal wheels. tokico illuminas/gc coilovers, blah blah, toyota 4x4 vented swap, almost finished rear 240sx swap, rollbar. Currently has suspension techniques rear 3/4" sway (not msa 7/8) -3.7 r200 lsd. nuff said -almost all parts are there to finish the swap. you'll need some AN fittings, lines, waterpump, custom driveshaft, and of course, assemble it -fuel rails modified with 6an fittings, configured for parallel setup with return to FPR -the difficult part of designing the mount, modifying the engine with correct parts from other rotaries to make it work with front mount is all done. It bolts to the front crossmember via solid mount (rotaries don't oscillate, so they don't vibrate) -fuelcell box is built and installed. the bad: -5% rust mentioned above -car is completely apart, but can be easily assembled into a rolling chassis to load up and tow. I suggest having a BIG truck to haul the rest of the parts out. the ugly: -engine bay is stripped of paint. You'll have to finish cleaning and painting it -battery tray is cut out. mostly. I'll also throw in the rotaryz.com domain. I will sell either the whole car with everything, just the engine/tranny combo with everything (keep the car, use v8 ), or take a trade on something of equal value... like a used mazda3 s-trim, or LS1 powered 240z. Not interested in parting it out bit by bit, so don't ask me if I'll sell you the LSD or the rollbar.
  18. lol, did you just quote James Thagard and pointed him to his own shop? hahahahh!
  19. Weirdest thing is that I saw one of these for sale in california... I'm not sure how it's legal, the store owner said it was because the rifle's a rimfire, so bullpup design and pistol grip don't apply.... walther g22
  20. moridin: i mentioned the sv650! sparks: 600 will be more than enough for you. The SV650 will also work because it's a v-twin, makes a little less hp than most 4 banger crotch rockets (65 crank) and will be comfortable and carve corners. Don't get anything like an r6 with 120+hp. I'd say honda cbr600 f2/f3, yzf600r, zx6e/r (not rr) will be fine for you. 240z2nv: i agree with you... for a notice rider 1200 is a lot, be it a tourer or a crotchrocket.
