  1. Hey my car used to look like that, a bunch of different colors. cant wait to see the end result. good luck
  2. Amen to that. Your color looks good though, very classic.
  3. Ive always liked the idea of hood vents to help releive the under the hood pressure. However, wont water get it when it rains or when you wash your car? Just curious
  4. Spent the weekend drinkin beer and buffing out the paint with rubbing compound follwed by a nice wax. Put on all new painted emblems and a little polish on the chome everywhere. It's my first paint job so i was kind of sketchy on how it would turn out. Now that its all said and done i'm happy with the end result, and glad that I didnt take it to a cheapo paint shop. Here is the end result. I'm so glad im done!
  5. Haha, thats so true. Dahm those type R's. Then again theres only 2 cars that Honda makes that fall into my catagory of "sports car". The NSX and S2K. I just picked white for easy maintanence and so that my flares and spoiler would stand out more opposed to black on black.
  6. Welcome! Hybrid ZeE IzZ dA bEsTAsT EvAr!
  7. Thanks austin, and the same to you! I'm glad some people think i made a good decision on color choice. All my buddies thought white is a wussy color and tried talking me out of it (idiots), But i follwed through and all turned out well. Now I can spend less time washing my car, and more time driving it!
  8. It was a pain to install the seat because recaros are big and heavy esp in a tiny little car. I think i used the stock rails and fabbed up metal to bolt upto the seat and rail. oh and its Recaro SRD. I might actually be selling that seat for a non reclineable recaro bucket. i'll post it here for sale
  9. b sosick, I never shared these photos, but since you asked, here yah go.
  10. Awsome. just make sure when painting in your garage you enclose EVERYTHING. There was tons of overspray in places i did not expect. Oh and get yourself a good respirator, i almost puked the first day with a cheapo one. I Forgot the brand of the paint, but I got it at a local place that sells auto paint and suply. It's a single stage paint. It was reconmended by the owner of the paint store, a very informative guy by the way, that single stage paint was more for novice painters, or for someone looking for a decent paint job that doesnt last too long. It was alot cheaper than buying base/ clear coat and hell of a lot faster and easier, which is a good thing for me, a first time painter. I dont remember if it was an acrylic or laquer, but it was a polyurethane, so it takes some time to dry. I'll be sure to post more pics after this weekend of the end result from color sanding and buffing. I'll try to take some pix while i'm buffing too, just so you all can see the difference.
  11. Thanks again everyone for your compliments What are run blockers/shavers? are you refering to just plain old foam blocks you block sand the body with? It would be great if I could shave some time off wet sanding because i have quite a few runs all over the car, lol.
  12. I did the swap last winter. No, it wasnt hard at all. actually it was easy! Look through the RB archives, youl find some stuff I posted.
  13. Thanks. I'm very sad to say, yes they are wheel spacers tires are 195/60/14. I guess now that ive got my paint and body outa the way, next thing up is new wheels! maybe i'll post them here for sale.
  14. Thanks for the compliments all. I'm really glad it turned out ok because I rushed the job, and I Realllly HATE doing body work and paint. Its just not my thing, I have no patience (another reason why I chose white) . So my car went from black to white, Now all I need is sharp nose up front and i'll really be like mike! Time for a G-nose!
  15. I'm going to be color sanding and buffing this weekend so any tips, advice much appreciated. oh, and its a single stage poly paint by the way.
  16. All my life Ive owned black cars and about a month ago I said enough is enough and I started stripping paint and bodyworking. Its my First time doing a complete body and piant job so alot of my work was trial and error. started 3 weeks ago, and took me 3 weekends to do all the work and spray the paint on. The paint is still drying now and has been for 2 days, so I'm still waiting to color sand a buff out the paint. There are so many runs on the steep panels and also some orange peel various places, so what you see is just straight paint, no finishing. Oh by the way the color is 904 Ivory White, which is an original color. BEFORE:
  17. no trade here, but how much you want for it?
  18. You know on passenger side mirrors, in small print it says " objects in miiror may appear to be closer" blah, blah, whatever... well, the passenger side mirror has the same reflective "magnification" as the driver side, and since you are further away from the pass. side mirror its all jacked up. However, if i were to mount it further up say on the fenders, it would work but that would ugly. On top of that the mirrors are tiny! yes that's a J- yard in the background, lol. That's the only place where I can mess around on an open lot. But if your thinging about parts, It's in Glendale, so all they have is bimers, benzez and audi's.
  19. Nice! is that a real Fairlady or was it converted?
  20. EEeebay. they may look cool but not functional. real carbon fiber though.
  21. heres a shot up front w/o bumper. I get mixed responses from everyone about not having a front bumper. I think i would run it but its so jacked up im embarrassed.
  22. The RB ECU tach signal wil not work with an autometer tachometer gauge. even with resistors or whatever. I had a 240sx with sr20det and ecu tach signal worked with auto meter gauge, no adapeter needed. so, i thought rb is also direct fire ign. so hech it should work too. I was WRONG. ive done it myself, so save yourself the trouble and forget the ecu signal and use the tach adapter. Zdrifter, It's unlikely that the timing belt jumped a tooth. I think you should make sure all the simple things have been checked before you jump to that conclusion. get an RB25DET factory service manual and towards the end/ appendix there are processes where you can troubleshoot. It never fails for me. good luck
