  1. Man, thats gonna be an all show all go car. Good luck with the swap.
  2. True, no ones gonna steal your carbon hatch if they dont know its carbon. But then again its not the Nissan community that steals from each other, It's those dahm Honda guys! well at least in CA it is...
  3. I like both ideas, but nothing beats 4WD and two turbos, esp. for a track car! R32 all the way. By the way, do you have any dyno numbers or est. on how much power your RB31DE is putting out? im considering swapping block somehere down the road....
  4. Not very likely w/ street tires and no 4wd
  5. Thanks Jon, i'll have to look into doing that.
  6. Hey those look pretty good! I guess primax is catching up with import car wheel selection now. Looks cold there!
  7. Unfourtunaltly I found out they stopped making roadrace slicks in 14'' back in 1988. So I'd have to go with a DOT R tire or find some 13'' or 15'' wheels. Just my luck. anyone have any sugestions with DOT R compound tires?
  8. lawnmower has more torque than s2k....lol. nice find
  9. I'm past due for another track day, so I'm attending a speedtrials event at the streets of willow springs. I really dont want to ruin my street tires (my only tires) and plus i'd lke to see how the Z handles with some road race slicks. Anyone have any sugestions where to look, I cant even find any on ebay! (roadrace slicks, no drag) Im looking for some used ones, just a one time thing and toss em. Thanks in advance
  10. I would go with the Falken Azenis RT-615's. Compared to the old Azenis, the new ones kick butt. Howvere, they are a bit pricey now. I noticed when your really beating on the tire with excessive cornering you dont get the "Mushyness" like the old Azenis tire. I highly recoment this tire. check it out: http://www.falkentire.com/615micro.htm my next tire recomentdation would be the Yokohoma AVS-es100. Very manageable through cornering, and great wet traction. I never had one complaint about these tires, all around excelent street/performance tire. check out some reviews. Oh and IMHO no matter what car, ive never liked Kuhmo street tires.
  11. I think Brian was refering to around 750 RWHP, 800 + crank. Theres no replacemet for displaement! I say you buy Brian's RB30 bottom end and Dahm, you took that thing appart quick! Good luck in making those outragous numbers
  12. wow I didnt know there were s/c availible for the RB. hmm maybe i can bolt one to my RBDE.....
  13. yeah stock belts arnt so bad in most 80's cars. 70's cars, no way. harnesses for me.
  14. Good job Chris! Glad to hear you got that sucker running. Hmm, who knew you would need a tach adapter? lol. Let us know if you get your stock temp gauge to work with the RB thermal sensor. I tried it once and messed with it for a little bit and just gave up so I tapped in a mechanical auto meter temp gauge, but if you get it to work id like to get mine working also so I can free up some room for another gage. Oh, and post some pix or vids if you can, i'm sure we'd all like to see!
  15. I dont see the significance of this being in the RB forum.
  16. well you gotta give power to AF81 for Injectors power.....
  17. I also ran into the same problem at first. You need to physically check for spark. Pull out one plug and stick the coil pack on it and have someone crank the engine and see if there is spark. If you dont, you need to systematically check the whole ignition system. But since you just swapped the engine, I would check that your supplying the coils with power. there are 2 relays near the ecu, they should both click when you put the car in ignition and get ready to fire the engine. Let us know what happens.
  18. It's the the whole diff carrier w/ all parts inside. Let me know what you want to do. just pm me.
  19. I just swaped my 3.54 for a 4.11 R200 the other day. It's my spare but i'm willing to give it away for 20 bucks if you pay for shipping. Its in perfectly good shape. But, for the price of shipping, you might as well just find one local. anyway its just an offer if you need it asap.
  20. Wow, thanks for all of your experienced advice. Sad thing is, im completely done now, lol. You cant really tell from my last pictures because the car is white, but its already sanded smooth and buffed to a nice shine. Wish i could have posted and gotten your advice before i painted though. I Did have alot of runs, but a guy at a body shop showed me how to carfully slice the runs off with a razor blade. Then from there i just slowly wet sanded with 1200, then 2000. Let me tell you just that process took me 9 hours to do. When i did shoot the paint, I saw the runs and made sure i added a little more paint in the area so i didnt break through when i sanded. I put a total of 4 coats on the entire car and a lil more on the run areas. Lesson learned: dont run the paint off the panel when painting! Now that I have some experience painting, maybe next time i'll do a 2 stage base and clear coat.
  21. Thanks man. It's quick, but not fast. Im guessing somewhere in the low to mid 14's 1/4 mile. However, the good thing is that it's still bone stock so I have a good foundation to build a monster of an n/a engine. It came in R33 and R34 skylines and a C33 luaral (4 door sedan) in Japan only of course. Pretty cheap and easy swap IMO.
