  1. 1993 Yamaha XJ600S Seca II
  2. I wonder how well it covers the truck motors. They are much more affordable, just need to work around some issues - oilpan, front end accesories, etc.
  3. Any idea what the Japanese add translates into? That third add, very good
  4. Save $5000 and get an aftermarket GPS. Garmin or an in dash system.
  5. Awesome!! But seriously, those guys lack the self preservation gene.
  6. You mentioned adding more clutches to your diff - what diff do you have? R200 CLSD or a R230 unit? Have a thread of that as well? You are able to do the projects I would very much like to!
  7. Have you considered making a 'how to' guide on adapting the wiring ? Charge a reasonable fee for it and I am pretty sure that people would be interested
  8. If it is the one that was playing during alot of the BCS games, then yes I saw that ad. Very cool!
  9. What advantage is there to using the 3.0 timing etc?
  10. Yup, that is the one. I wish he had some pictures of the headers. "Lastly my custom built block hugger headers. These started out as several sets of headers, cutup and welded back together to work with my engine and chassis." Would be interesting to see the finished product. Anyone know his hybridz ID?
  11. I've searched high and low, but no luck. How tall is a LT1 motor or a L98 TPI engine? Top of intake plenum to bottom of oilpan, Vette or F body? And how deep are the stop oil pans?
  12. I'd say go for all of the wirehiring harness, O2 sensors, just about anything useful. Sounds like the seller isn't to worried about the price.
  13. Have you checked aftermarket pieces? A rep friend of mine had his Monte Carlo SS rear ended, and the insurance company was cool with him getting non-OEM pieces. Not sure on the cost difference, that could be an issue if you don't have comprehensive. Is the other guy liable though?
  14. I have lost the link to the thread and personal site, but a member did swap a BBC in. IIRC he used a slightly rare Vette oil pan and some rams horn heards. Tight, but no cutting.
  15. It will be quite interesting to see pictures of how the LSx and the VH fit, do photograph well!
  16. Just finished all the clips. WOW!!! Those guys had an experience! I lived in Moscow for 4 years in the late 90's, and the Metro really reminded me of the one in Moscow. Besides being really, really fancy, they are also VERY deep underground. The escalators keep going and going and going . . . and they are quite fast too.
  17. I really don't get the deal with F1 going to Indy, sure it has history, but is essentially a Nascar circuit. Why did they drop Longbeach as a GP? From what I have heard it was a very popular circuit.
  18. I really hope that the cost cutting reforms that are being thrown around don't damage F1. Seeing a Toro Rosso driver do so well at Monza and Renault's comeback in the last few races showed that it isn't just a two horse race. A few judicious cost restrictions at a time to keep an eye on things would be good, but NEVER a spec race or homogulated like Nascar.
  19. From what I have found, the LSD on the 2nd gens is a 3.90 ratio. Not that bad, just have to get a transmission with a good ration, and fit some larger diameter tires on. One reason why I am looking at the RX's is because they are newer, hence less rust prone, while still fairly light weight. Good condition Z's are getting spendy, but a blown 12A 2nd gen is downright affordable. mobythevan, nice looking swap! I am going out the door right now, but your thread looks to be well illustrated with good progress write ups.
  20. I recently became aware of http://www.grannysspeedshop.com/ , and they have swaps for just about every domestic V8 for each of the RX7 generations. Not that I would buy a kit, but the patterns would be useful for a home built kit How do the RX7's compare to the Z for swapping? From what I have read, they had a solid rear axle with Watts linkage until the 3rd generation. Also, LSD's were fairly common, 2nd gens with rear discs seem to automatically have them. A quite competitive curb weight around 2600 lbs for the 1st gen and somewhere between 2600-3000 for the 2nd gens are a plus as well. First hand experience? A good forum? Hearsay? Can the rear end take the torque of a V8, when built for a revving rotary?
  21. Looks pretty cool! Should have a good bit of torque to help with the corners. Suspension package looks pretty solid as well. Sold for a pretty good price too!! Seems like 510s are pulling pretty high prices when in good condition.
  22. What diff is in it? R180? Open R200? A LSD would undoubtedly enhance the value.
  23. To be honest, I was very happy the Veyron didn't conquer all on the lap times. And now that it isn't the worlds fastest car, the Shelby SSC Aero holds that now, the Veyron is just a magnificently, ridiculously, plush supercar.
