I heard LSX was good for 2500? What does the LSX cost? LS is a nice setup for you Austin since your cars been reinforced. You wouldn't have to worry about your Z twisting in half .

You must mean the one where he tried to do a 180 degree twist to reverse and ended up crashing

As long as you have a pregnant lady in your car, you can avoid tickets! Video made no sense without english sub, but it was funny he was copying some of the drifting scenes from the F@F Tokyo Drift

First movie is alright. I heard the second one was alot better and plenty of racing. In the second one, hes much more mature and he races R33,32 and A 280ZXT.

After a year in a half of owning my 73 240Z, I must say that my car went through hell and back 5 different times. Got the car when I was 17 my senior year of high school. Didn't know much about restoration, but I knew that I picked the right choice for a nice fun car. Started off really good just pasting tubs of bondo over the car not knowing what happens to a car after 30 years. Three months into project, we were back to day 1 again. This time we replaced a door and the hood, fenders and cowl. Everything turned out great we were working from scratch getting the car back to its normal shape. When I was at school, I was fixing the starter in my car because I notice there car had a hard time starting. What I didn't know was the guy in my class got in my car, messed around with the car put it in 1st gear and took off my ebrake. I was stupid enough to come in from the passenger side of the car to start the car and it launched into the wall. Back to day 1 again. By this time, you guys are probabaly thinking that I have the worse luck. It gets worse! I got two front fenders from MSA 2006 yardsale. Luckily the hood was ok no damage except for the dent my drunk dad put with his fist into my hood. Project seemed like it was going again. My uncles friend came from San Jose, originally he was the guy he restored this Z 15 years ago. Came back to visit and he saw the car. He looked at me and said "You got welding to do". He noticed that alot of spots were looking like they rusted through. He was right. I pretty much had a rust hole in everyspot you can name. College was starting and I had no time so I asked him to help me with it. He replaced the floor pans, the rear panel, both quarter panels, etc. After that It was a year, the car had pretty much everything replaced. I went through another set of doors since the window sliders broke and the door seems to be splitting. After that It was a case of finishing the car. I pretty much almost given up, but the fact that I spent so much time and money, theres no way I could told my older Siblings that they were right and I was going to give up. I asked my uncles friend to do the car once more. He told me that hes going to start from scratch and to make sure that this time everything is going to be alright. After 1 1/2 years of patiences, the car finally the car is going in the paint booth in a few days. The color I chose was the midnight blue from the Nissan Murano very nice. Just wanted to share what I experienced in the time I had my Z. I glad that I didnt give up because I wouldn't have known what I was missing out on.

Congratz great article and great pictures. They tend to fabricate the story alittle bit to spice it up, but whos really going to notice besides a few of us on the forums and yourself . They did the same with Austins story to spice it up alittle too . Hey it its too technical then it wouldn't be (O)_(O). Again great story.

Dont wanna butcher a collectors car especially when its 100% original. We can always do it another Z like mine .

The whole point of the program was so you didn't have to do it yourself. It did sell well.

Rb20det with the transmission with bolt up to the stock driveshaft no problem. I think you do need to cut the shifter location 2 inches up though. Its fun to be in an Rb20det, a guy in pasedena took me for a ride six months ago. Definitely fun the boost gets you hanging on to your seats and everything. Its fun and cheap, but theres little ways to upgrading affordably on a rb20. L28ET everything about the swap is beneficial. No fitting issues and bolts in like a charm. On top of that if your L28 does break down you can "find" parts for it. If your RB20 breaks down, its going to be hard to search for those little parts. My friend probabaly spent 3000 dollars on the whole l28et swap so far and hes making well over 320 WHP. Thats with a bigger turbo, injectors, exhaust and bov and few other small things. Its really up to you what you prefer though. You want to hit 8-9K Rpms get an RB20. You want something fun and to save you from blood rushing to your brain get L28ET.

When I was 16, I double gasket the oil filter on the oil change. 65 dollars worth of synthetic down the drain .

Now to think about it, I should of called >. After I hit it I started pulling to the side.

Probabaly about six months ago, I was on 22 heading towards long beach with my Z and some idiot drove without his tailgate on and alot of crap in his trunk. If I remember right he had like 20 bags of concrete and a ladder supporting it as a tailgate. I was trying to get into another lane, but I was being trapped by cars on both sides. I was like man it would be scary if that ladder when dangling off his truck. Next thing you know the ladder flew off and hit the floor and bounce up. It look like it was going to fly through windshield and kick me in my face. I was like like o sh#t and right when it bounced up, it barely made it over my car, but the ford ran it over! For a moment I though It was going to be like the Final Destination 2 movie where the giant log went through the guys cars crushing him. I d say after 15 seconds of that I was like OMG close call to my friend, a concrete bag came off the truck and I was like O shiet. I hit the bag w/ my airdam and it the sound of fiberglass cracking sounded like my car exploded! The ripped open and my exhaust ate up my bag of concrete making a giant cloud. Watch out for those crazy people. Although my front air dam was damage, I was going to change it to a different anyways. No damage to the car.

I think that austins idea of the Bolts and nut inserts is pretty smart. I got my kit from him. It takes alittle more work, but Just incase if I mess up, I can always take it out no problem and re adjust the flares. Rivets its kinda a pain and yes doesnt have a finish look. I did mess up though so that wasn't a joke lol. I mounted the front flares too high causing my rear not to match with the front. I was like Blahh!!! O_O. Made it lower in the front to match with the rear. I have extra holes to weld up. I guess the good thing about the bolts is, once you mount on the flares, You measure how much you want to cut and then you can take it off. With rivets its either on or its off. The pain starts tmr with the cutting and the welding. There was a guy with a white 240z who used rivets and it didn't give it the finish look. Take a look back a few pages. I believe it was on this thread.

They are very need wheels. I just remounted the flares. I messed up and mounted the front ones a bit too high. I changed it now and hopefully it looks ok. Feel free to express your opinions if I needs some adjusting. If it looks good I will start cutting tomorrow. Of course it looks alot better in picture than in person, but this car needs to get going. I almost cried because I had to drill an extra set of holes to lower the flares .

Phew thanks for clarifying that. I gotta say those guys dont mess around. Fiberglass everything!. Is it me or their ZG flares seem alot bigger than the Classic or MSA ZG flares?

There you go Stony. Get ready to pay the big bucks !! Theres also the company Seibon. Dont know if you ever heard of it, but they take top quality carbon fiber doors, hatches, etc. I called one time to ask them whats there policy on custom carbon fiber parts. They said it had to be a minimum of ten pieces for them to make the mold or something. Would be a great idea for a group buy if people are willing to dish out the cash. Remember its carbon fiber though. Weight reduction on cars is just like Jenny Craig, but its more expensive. Thats some good facts. I hope that both my doors are 240 doors then >.<. Changed out the passenger door about a year ago and don't know if it was a 280 door I put on. Hopefully not. Thats with Door panels and everything right? Gotta get back to skool and find parking. Ill check this post out later.

I was always looking into fiberglass Z doors, but never found a source.... It would be great to reduce that weight. Skin will take too much effort .
