  1. whats interesting about the LS1 dist conversion is that it goes on the front of the motor..
  2. LS1 radiator is apparently just a thinner version of the LT1 radaitor, supposedly they have the same dimensions in everything except for width. i belive it was SLP that was selling a "heavy duty LS1 radiator" that was just an LT1 radiator with some plugs lol
  3. yeah, id also check your tire pressure jmorstensen - if you put a tire on a ballancer, ballance it with static ballance, and then do it again with a dynamic, you will in almost every case come up with 0. this thread is going to get turned into an arugment of static vs dynamic ballancing, but if you do static correctly it is just as good as dynamic and much better than stickons
  4. if its only when you hit the brakes its warped rotors. if its all the time, sounds like something isnt right... maybe tires out of alignment or you got a bearing on wrong. i think you got something on just a little off.. id go back and check. as for the tire ballancing static ballancing (weights only on inside lip) is just as good as dynamic. in fact its actualy better because there is no stupid weight on the outside of your rim. (i have static ballanced rims on my Camaro and ive had it up to 150 and it was extremly smooth)
  5. fyi you have one of the most rust free 240Zs ive ever seen, the most rust free ive ever seen actualy. you did lots of work and it looks great. you going to paint it back pearl white? it looks beautiful in that first pic
  6. 15x7 "Fast Forward" wheels so basicly i think they are knockoffs of Konig rewinds, making them knockoffs of knockoffs. they seem to be pretty high quality though, and got them for a nice price ($500 to my door) car will be Navy Blue Metallic (dark blue on 98-02 Camaros and Firebirds)
  7. for color you should do something awesome... a pearl white or a pearl black.. *drool* with some gold wanabes
  8. if you need someone to test another set for you i can send you my mailing address
  9. depends on how bad you want the wheels and how good of a deal they are, for under a $100 a wheel (i think) you can have them widened. have them widened an inch and you will have 16x8 wheels (LT1 and LS1 camaro sized wheels) and will have literaly thousands of tire choices
  10. i have seats that came with it... "Mexico GT" lol, im being dead serious, they are straight out of the 1980s, they need reapolstered though, very bad, they are a fixed seat, and are very tight (i have a 36 waist and i fit perfectly in them, my fat friends cant sit in them) i will try to get some pics soon. i also bought a set of corbeau seats (i think) they dont have any writing on them though, the guy i bought them from said that they were ordered without the writing on them. they are these seats but they are in black (i just put them in blue so that you could see the 3D of it)
  11. ive seen some pretty hairy cars hook on Mickey Thompsons 275 17 drag radial as for the 16s, MT and BFGoodrich make a 255 R16 with pleanty of sidewall for flex. id agree that 15 inch is about the perfect size for a drag radial, TONS of sizes for that diameter
  12. ok... #1, i dont particuarly care about "legality" here in indiana. they dont even look at the car or care about it when you plate it. that being said, mail people drive around in RHD cars, and i have driven one before, its not that bad. #2, for the sunroof hole, i thought about patching it with sheet metal but i dont think im good enough yet to do it without warping it, so i think im going to cut it a top off another car, im not sure how much of the sheet metal ill use, ill be generous in cutting it off the other car though #3 yeah, the welds are very globby, but they have been gone over like 3 times, the first welds just looked really bad, i think they fully penetrated though, then i welded over them again just to make them look better. also, im still going to add a 45* angled piece in both the front and rear adding strength to it. THEN im going to have a 10 point cage installed.. it should be a very strong chasis when im done.
  13. comming from you thats a big complement after looking at your car haha. my latest debate is whether or not i want to do a RHD conversion on the car.. you know, just to be THAT guy
  14. i got them from GM parts direct. around $145 to my door for a complete set. now that i know i got the rings all right im going to put the other 6 pistons in this weekend, along with putting in the cam, timing chain, oil pump and putting on the oil pan i need to get valve springs and headgaskets and pushrods and my motor will be all together.. i cant wait that reminds me, anybody buy multi layered steel headgaskets? if so where did you buy them from and how much.
  15. i thought that i remebered reading your post before on LS1tech, and i guess that my response didnt go through, i just got the two websites mixed up haha, so i have the same post there as here (im cop car on tech)
  16. i like your motor mount set up, very nice how the motor sits so far back, the vette gauges are also much cooler than the F body ones. personaly i think the vette gauges are some of the best looking ones out there becuase of how they are 3D
  17. i put the square on top, the beveled one next with the dot up, bevel down, then oil rings, the two oil rings i put 180 off. the top to i put 180 of each other, and 90 off of the dot
  18. no, make sure the body is solid, body pannels can be easily replaced. if the body (floorpans, trunk pan etc) (are) is good then worry about the quarter on the dime later
  19. lets see if anyone on here knows this... LS1 stock rebuild solid ring on top beveled ring next, dot up, bevel down (i know these botom 3 are correct) oil ring spacer oil ring
