  2. i dont think anybody has blatently called someone stupid, but the way people word things sometimes sounds like the poster is talking down to another person. everybody needs to keep in mind that everybody at one time was a car guy that asked stupid questions. being hostile and immediately directing people twards the general search feature that brings up 567 pages of random posts is not the way to get new members to feel welcome.
  3. what i hate is everones snap reactions on this board to call people stupid and to tell them to use the search function right away. i HATE that, if someone wanted a FAQ sheet they wouldnt want interaction from other people in the hoby and their personal experiences and suggestions.
  4. i used a metal cart, a chain and a dixie chopper to remove mine. jacked up the car, removed the bolts for the cross member etc. lowered k member onto a cart, jacked car up and used the dixie to pull the cart out from under the car
  5. Ls1 edit i should elaborate you could build another 383 LT1 pretty cheap, do you want to stay fuel injector or carbed? with a stock LS1 with a cam and headers would be in the 500 hp range
  6. you just buy threaded rod, thats all its set up for, then you have an adjustable strut brace
  7. paint it white with black stripes (might even do matte black stripes) white will hide any body work really well. nice looking camaro though.

  11. notch the front frame rail, thats what is done to my car. guy who had it before me cut off all but the outer side of the frame rails and welded everything up and made mounts.
  12. i guess im the only one who liked it better with the panasports and no fender flares. i guess thats my personal tastes. car is still beautiful though.
  13. its ugly, i insist that you sell me your CCWs, carbon fiber hood and air dam for $100 shipped. haha with a lowered front that car will look sick.. im going to do the same bare carbon fiber hood/air dam thing that you are doing (hopefuly if i get my car moving)
  14. so, i was thinking about replacing my stock windows with lexan. using the same exact frames and just removing the glass and replacing them with lexan (pass, driver, both small angle windows and also the rear hatch glass) would i have to reinforce/poprivet them in?
  15. i would like to see some wheel suggestions for a 1973 240Z without fender flares. im pretty sure im going to be doing the 300ZX front hub swap and get 5 lugs. the car is backhalved so im going to have 5 lug there also. 17x9 is the widest ive seen on the front of a 240Z fit under the fenders. i was thinking some 17x9 for front and 17x10 or 17x11s for the rear (i already have those tires). i like the Rota P45R and the rota torques also look nice if i got either of these it would be in the 18 inch size i just wanted to know what you guys always thought looked nice on 240Zs without flares
  16. if repared it could bring 15k easily if you find a good body guy who you know, he could easily cut off the damaged areas and weld new ones in. i just dont want to see such a nice and rare car get destroyed. im an f body guy, owning 2 personaly, and my dad and brother having one each. my car is an 00 B4C (police car) and there were only about 300 made. the other car i have is totaled and was one of 6. stripper models probably range in the 300-500 made, but are desirable cars because of no power locks and crank windows.
  17. they are from like the 1980s, they arent that great looking so im going to go with some other wheels i belive
  18. for the love of God do not junk that car. it is a stripper car that is very very very rare. it looks like the damage could be repaired. you are looking at a desirable and rare car.
  19. dont spin that motor to 7000, you will spin bearings. 97-99 LS1s have poor oil return and spin bearings. put a nice like 224 cam in it with headers and you will put down over 350 rwhp through an M6. something you should do is change your clutch at the same time while the motor/trans is out. as far as supercharger goes. put a procharger 1DSC on there and run like 8 lbs. your internals will be fine and itll be really fast.
  20. i need to get some toyota callipers, but they would be like $100 each unless i have a core to turn in, then they would only be $50. so if anbody has some laying around, reguardless of condition i really need some.
