  1. there is a guy out there that converts LT1 heads and intake to work on a gen 1 block and using a distributor. hell, you might as well just go buy an LT1, use the block, put all the stroker stuff in it, get LT4 heads and LT4 intake. i know you can use the same L98 harness/computer for stuff such as injectors
  2. i just pried it off, i dont remeber any screws the rubber is actualy like stapled to the metal chrome piece..
  3. i must say, that is rather impressive after you wet sanded it.
  4. nah, you just start taking them appart, there are like 4 or 6 screws holding them into the car, and then when you get them out, rip off the rubber around the outside, find the 2 screws and undo them, be careful not to break your welds though, i applied to much force and i broke mine, now i gotta weld them up
  5. bondo the headlight bucket as for the hood, nows the time to get a carbon fiber or fiberglass one, you cant really use bondo on a hood because when you slam it itll crack eventualy, the reverse folding of the 240Z would make it better, but eventualy itll probably fall off your other option is to throw a bra over it
  6. why in the world would you want a 700R4? unless you really need the over drive transmission for daily driving use a TH350, tons cheaper, and also much stronger. im going to have about 5k total in my car... thats a high estimate also. i wish i could drop 8k on my car, but i cant right now
  7. yes, that is true, i was just making an off the wall statment that its not always about the cubes. there is no replacement for displacement, except a supercharger.
  8. diffrent heads require diffrent bores. a 364 LS2 with ported L92 heads will make more hp and torque than a 383 LS1 with ported LS2/6 heads on it. LS1s are pretty much obsolte now..
  9. it is that simple, i have a friend who used the stock harness without any cutting in multiple conversions he did. yes, you have wires hanging around, but you can just tuck them away, imo its not worth $500 to me to have someone cut wires on my harness when i could do it myself after i get the car running. yes you do need to tune it, but thats later.
  10. we got a hair dryer after my friends, they just poped right off, then we washed and waxed the area, cant even tell they were there
  11. you just stick in the complete stock wiring harness. at least thats what i plan on doing
  12. it is great advice to actualy think about and have a plan for everything you are going to do. my friend has a 2000 LS1 camaro, his car is basicly a full bolt on car, at the track he is at least 4 tenths quicker than other cars with the same mods as him and have a cam. they have just picked bad set ups. i cant belive how someone can improperly mod an LS1, if you spend just 20 minutes on LS1tech you will know you shouldnt buy SLP headers, shorty headers, an upgraded throttle body or upgraded maf, yet people still do. the LS1 world is something diffrent though.. you dont always want the biggest cubes possible..
  13. this is the shell in all its muliti colored glory passanger side inner fender well, you can see the patch pannels and also my subframe poking through the firewall you can see backhalving and the subframes i ran through the passanger compartment, i still have to primer all of this and paint it matte black drivers side frame mating to rear backhalf passanger side engine bay backhalf, LS1 fuel tank laying on floor you can see how far it is stripped down and also the nasty sunroof hole i have to fix subframe comming through drivers side firewall and T-ing into front subframe frame through passanger compartment as you can see i have a bit more work to do haha:redface:

  15. when you guys remove your struts what do you use to hold the bumpers onto the cars with then?
  16. dont refrence barret jackson for auto prices. they are way inflated. there is one around here that pops up at the car show every now and then
  17. why hasnt someone welded 2 of those motors together yet?
  18. sweet, so it is an MSA air dam. when people would always talk about MSA it would always have that line in it.
  19. what front air dam is this? i like it because it is solid and flat
  20. i cant take credit for the backhalving, someone else did it. like i said, if i did i would have made it clear wide ass tires.
  21. not always the case, ive seen cars that have been solid on the inside that looked bad from the outside. and of course vice versa is usualy the case
  22. personaly i think the 240 is a better looking car, and its deffinatly lighter, the only thing that makes me like the FD swaps is that they are more aero dynamic along with their beauty.
  23. this is true. you need a diffrent oil pan. you could probably get away with the truck intake under the hood, but if you went to an LS1 intake you would need to also switch water pumps. all you really need is an alt anyways, you can either make one buy one (would be pretty cheap) i did forget about those parts.
  24. it would mount just like any other SBC, buy the JTR mounts and you are good to go
