  1. BUMP, It would be great to have a few people from each state or province to fill out the list. Keep in mind guys that you may never get a call to help. Ideally this list would never be needed, but just think how nice it would be to have someone to call if you do have trouble.
  2. Ross sometimes offers his spacers on ebay
  3. if the flywheel teeth have been burred from the bendix spinning against it, you may have to dress the teeth with a file to clean them up.
  4. Yesterday in Alabama, I was working outside in a t shirt at 6am. Today in Ohio, I`m working inside and wearing insulated coveralls.
  5. nice work I`m lucky enough to have solid pans in my Z, but my chevelle is another story I`ve spent all week welding quarters, wheelhouses, floorpans, and frame and body mounts. I hope to set the body down on the frame in the morning, finally. wish me luck
  6. I agree with all of the posts above, and I also think a funds drive would be a good idea. I made a similiar suggestion a while back but got no response. I`m sure the bandwidth that this site requires is not cheap, and many of us would be more than happy to pitch in a few bucks to help insure the future of the single most usefull tool that I/we have. JMO
  7. I picked up an identical 8 ton ram at a flea market, new for 30.00 no tax/no shipping it`s an option if you have the time to scout for one.
  8. OOPS,I found it, RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY FACE
  9. I`ve tried to access the helpers list but haven`t been able to get in. where do we get a password? and what username do we use? I wanted to see how many helpers we`ve got now,and upate some of my info. I was only gone for a few weeks, and now we`ve got over 3k members. hopfully the helpers list has grown as well
  10. Tell her Dad you were only coming to get him, as a "Tag Teammate"
  11. Not fair, but wouldn`t effect me much. I have NEVER played a game of any kind on line and I think it`s been almost ten yrs since I played any type video game. The extent of my gambling is limited to ebay
  12. I`m planning to do some fiberglass flares too. I am hoping that a 10pt cage and frame ties will help to minimize the stress fractures. any thoughts?
  13. I try to have at least two quarts on the shelf at all times
  14. The stuff is great for older engines with alot of carbon buildup, and sludged up crankcase. It will free up sticky lifters, loosen carboned up rings, and help to clean the fuel and intake system. It also smells good For transmissions that shift "slugishly" try a pint of Berrymans B12 carb cleaner.
  15. "BUMP" It would be nice to have AT LEAST one contact for each state and province. I know we have knowledgable members all over the US and Canada.
  16. my reply will be in the buy sell section then Thanks for the input guys.
  17. As John said businesses are the to make money. In my own shop,(at home)I charge 25.00hr, But I don`t have the overhead that a commercial shop does, as far as labor anyway.Tools are another story.(I could pay off my house for what my tools cost) If you can find someone who does the work on the side, you should be able to cut the labor cost by a third or more. just make sure to contact people they`ve worked for before to see if they were happy with quality and the time involved. You don`t want your car to become someone elses "garage ornament"
  18. I personally didn`t get to see it, and didn`t think to ask about either. I was too busy lookin over the rides and "trying" to keep my three year old out of trouble.
  19. I just got back from Montgomery. The night was plagued with problems starting with a rain delay Numerous turbo problems all around, nitrous not doing what it should, broken stub axle, lots of spinning tires, and another rain delay. I was only watching, but I did get to see some nice cars do there thing. Overall it seemed like a good turnout and it was nice to put some faces to names. In the end everything went pretty descent, no blown engines or trannys, and the only people that needed a trailer had one with them.
  20. go to one of the local parts stores and ask if they know anyone(that knows what they`re doing) who does work on the side. That is where I`ve gotten the majority of my business. I would also suggest doing the same for paint and body. got to one of the local paint supply stores and ask if they know a good painter that does work on the side.

    Top Speed?

77 280Z with year old gas, I pulled out of the gates at the salvage auction where I bought it, and ran it up to 118mph. I let out of it because it felt a little light in the front (totally stock)
  22. The rules for homebuilt cars must be pretty lax in Florida
  23. the guy with the auction must be a real ASS. notice that it`s a private auction, probably too many people emailing the buyers telling them how stupid they are
  24. Sounds cool, even being a big block it could still give good info on the relationship of the header to tire clearance.
