  1. I do have some plans for a still, and a biodiesel tank for the production of ethanol and biodiesel. The ethenol is actually used in the production of biodiesel as a catalyst for fermentation. http://www.biodiesel.org.au/old/faq.html http://www.journeytoforever.org/biodiesel_link.html http://www.biodieselaustria.com/en/productiontechnology.html http://www.superiorprocesstech.com/process.htm
  2. Even If they would bolt up without obstruction, The valves would be so close to the side of the cylinder, that any gain from valve diameter would be wasted by valve shrouding. air would only flow from 2/3 of the valve.
  3. the Idea of a v8 diesel Z as an economy car is not really a bad one. After thinking and reading these posts, I would actually consider building one. First I would use a 78 or earlier 2+2. Instead of the heavy 6.2. I would use a completely rebuilt, balanced and blueprinted olds 350 diesel. For the tranny I would use a 700r4 (or possibly a t56) I would use an r200 with the tallest gears possible. and finally for the tires, i would use 15" wheels with the tallest tires possible, without adversly effecting handling. I use to have an 81 grand prix w/ an olds 350, it would get 30mpg no matter how I drove it
  4. another option would be to relocate the canister to the front wheelwell. Lots of newer cars have them their, and it would only require plumbing your vent hose through the fender well
  5. 35.00? that sounds a little high to me for used rocker arms. Were the valve covers somthing special? If you`re planning on running a substancial sized cam, I wouldn`t recomend using stock stamped rockers either. At least go with a set of roller tips, if not full rollers. my .02 "Cheap in the short run, can be expensive in the long run"
  6. I can`t speak for L.A, but I`m pretty sure that most metropolitan areas are similiar when I comes to the "MORON FACTOR". I`ve driven quite alot over the eastern U.S, and these IDIOTS can be found everywhere. ie. D.C,Birmingham, Atlanta, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, N.Y.C, and Knoxville, just to name a few. Not to mention most of the little towns in between. There must be some kind of syndrome that causes peoples I,Q to drop 25% when they get behind the wheel.
  7. I have to ask, What color would you paint your toenails?
  8. Also make sure that it has, or has available a foot pedal controller. That is my only complaint wth my snap-on tig welder. It can`t even be retrofitted
  9. 20 or even 25 psi of boost is not really that much pressure for an intake to handle. When the boost reaches the combustion chamber, is when the pressure gets extreme.
  10. Being a farmer, I think I can chime in a bit here. Biodiesel and Ethanol can only buy us some time with the fuel supply. There is no possible way to manufacture enough of it to completely replace fossile fuels. The entire annual soybean harvest from the united states would only supply the us trucking industry with less than 30 days of Biodiesel. As far as Ethenol being produced,The nations corn supply would not last more than 30 days for our nations cars either. I know the prognosis is gloomy,(assuming 30 yrs is accurate) but only a combination of alternative fuels, conservation, and exploration will extend our fuel supply. If you eliminate any one of the three, it wiil greatly shorten the expectancy
  11. Looks nice!! If you get to know the guys at the muffler shops, you can always get a better deal. The exhaust guy that I deal with will do almost any custom job,and if you pay cash(no recipt) he`ll make you one hell of a deal I got dual 3" put on my 88 4x4 chevy, from the headers back, including the mufflers 175.00 (he didn`t even question me when I told him to nix the cat/converter
  12. I`m about 40 mins from the Indaina border. Where exactly is Salem? My V-8 is not in yet, but I`m hoping for next summer.
  13. Where is a good place to get good quality fiberglass front fenders and headlight buckets for 70-78 z`s? and what is a fair price to pay?
  14. Good point about the drip rails, but I really like the smooth look w/out them. Maybe I can redesign them to look more subtle.
  15. I know, I just haven`t made up my mind yet. I`m going to have the whale tail mounted on a spare rust free hatch an try it out. If I don`t like it, I`ll try somthing else and sell the whale/hatch. I was planning on shaving the marker lights/drip rails and painting the car 2002 chrysler pearl gold. I also have the smoked headlight covers.

Judas Priest "Turbo lover" Nazareth "Hair of the dog"
  17. I`ve got a I/O 16ft tri hull that`ll do 42mph WooHooo
  18. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1850920273 I go to pick it up this weekend. It should look sweet with the msa bumpers and effects. I`m still tossing ideas around on rear spoilers. I`ve got a 3 piece and a whale tail, but may not use either one if I find somthing that would look better. Any ideas?
  19. I was watching espn today, and saw a turbocharged 4.6l mustang that runs 8.80`s @162 mph they also had another that was supercharged, running 10.40`s @136mph
  20. I don`t see winning the case as the problem. the problem would be collecting.
  21. When I was 16,(about 18 yrs ago) I don`t think it would have been possible for anyone to keep me from getting my licence. and again when I was 17, and again when I was 19, and again when I was 24, and again when I was 27. 5th time`s a charm .
  22. I`m pretty sure it`s a plug that will have to be removed. The modulator usually connects to manifold at a fitting on the intake, directly behind the carburetor. I personaly use steel brake line for the vacume line, and put no more than 3" of rubber hose at each end.
  23. We went to see it at the drive-in. I can`t get my 2 yr old to sit still in a theatre. I thought it was a cool film I`m just glad he drove a GTO, and not a honda
  24. It sounds complicated and expensive. Even if the joints held up, i think you would still have a failure at the straps on the joint caps. My .02
  25. Are you positive that you`ve got a th350, and not a 200 metric? The metrics didn`t have a modulator. If it is a th350, look on the passenger side towards the rear, just above the pan rail. If you`re not familiar with the 350, it`s easy to get the wrong one. they both have a "notch" off of the right rear corner of the pan. The 200 has less pan bolts and no modulator. Good Luck
