  1. thats just plain NUTS. 4" of the ground at 230+. (with NO cage) Two words..."TITANIUN GONADS"
  2. I`m suprised that nobody on ebay has tried to sell the blower from the valve cover of the zx`s as a turbo. they look at least as convincing as these other pieces of crap. The concept of the "Tornado" would be fine, if it weren`t for all of the obstructions that would disturb the swirling air flow. ex. mass air sensor, throttle plates, intake manifold, and the valves to mention a few.
  3. Has anyone (besides me) considered running fenderwell headers? I`m thinking it would be a good way to get some heat away from the engine and trans, as well as clean up the engine compartment. I saw a set of corvette fenderwell headers on ebay that could have easily been modded to fit, but I snoozed and lost out. (1 3/4 with 3"collectors for 60.00)
  4. try the broncoII frame. they ride smooth and can turn on a dime. You may even be able to find posi front and rear axles from a ranger I had one that was posi front and rear, and it was almost impossible to get stuck. Any body know what the wheelbase of the BII was?
  5. Are the n47 heads from 77 worth anything performance wise? I`ve got one and I want to know if it`s worth messing with.
  6. The other day when pulling the engine out of one of the Z`s, I pulled the lower radiator hose off and about two fists full of acorns came out of the lower radiator hose I`ve heard of ginger, pepper, nutmeg and even raw egg whites as radiator stop leak, "but acorns?" HHhhMMMmm, must be some "Alabama thing"
  7. The most effective frame tie should run from as far foward as possible, to as far rearward as possible. I would recomend conectin to the frame on each side just ahead of the firewall, and at the rear extending the ties up the backside of the floorboard.
  8. The fact that coolant is blowing out of the overflow under boost, suggests to me that you may still have a blown head gasket or even worse, a cracked head or cylinder wall. If you have access to a coolant system pressure tester, I would suggest checking that first. Pull all of the plugs and see if the system will maintain a constant pressure level. Afterwards, check all cylinders for any trace of coolant, and check the dipstick before and after to see if the oil level goes up or not. my.02

    Should i buy

Yea, Pigs too Unless I`m in my truck, then I`d just mow him down
  11. The key to ebay is the "hunt". You have to look under every possible description, ie, chevy, sbc, chevrolet, gm, gmc, and every other possible abreviation for the part you are looking for. Sometimes it actually seams like people are intensionaly trying to hide there stuff Another good idea is to ask sellers if they have anything else for sale. Many times they will sell you something for cheap outside of ebay, just to avoid the hassle of listing and waiting to get the money. That`s how I got the R230 w/ 4 halfshafts and the driveshaft for 350.00

I won`t hit the brakes or swerve to miss ANY animal (except maybe an ELK )
  13. How much smaller is the diameter of the coilover spring, vs. the stock front springs an a 75Z?
  14. My question is, With the JTR kit how far is the rear of the passenger side head from the firewall? and, how far is the front of the drivers side head from the firewall? Thanks in advance for the help, Denny
  15. I think my brother used to work at the toledo ups depot a few years ago. He was attending the University of Toledo at the time, and didn`t stay long.
  16. The mustangII front would work perfectly. My wife has a real nice 79 mgb that we picked up here in alabama. it had been stored in a womans basement since 85. In high school, my brother had a 67 midget. This will be a project for "later". right now I have too many irons in the fire, and need to finish my Z first, and my chevelle, and the mg, and the corvair.
  17. It does have a straight axle, so I`m sur one of the many popular rear disc conversions could be adapted. Or better yet, Use a cut down 8.8 rear from a thunderbird turbo coupe that came w/ disc. the front would be more "tricky" but I`m sure somthing could be fabbed up.
  18. one of these days I`m gonna get an mga coupe, and build it as my next hybrid. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1856258807[/url] http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1855900183 take look at these on ebay and tell me what you think. (maybe grand national drivetrain) I remember when I was a kid, and I saw one of these behind a body shop. I had the same feeling I got when I saw my first Z
  19. For the diff, I`m using the Infiniti R230 w/ cv shafts. I plan to run in the 550-600 hp range, with a little NOS to ice the cake

    A Great Pair

Takin the "TWINS" for a sunday drive
  21. I`ve read this thread, but did not see the question answered. has anyone here successfully transplanted the 440 into a pre 78Z? I have a friend with a 72 dart that runs consistent 11.20`s.(w/o nos) the car is complettely street legal with all stock interior. He wants to go faster, but is so happy with the reliability of his engine and trans that he doesn`t want to mess with them. He has been following my project and has finally decided to transplant his combo into a Z. He intends to use his current "elephant ear" engine mounts, and would like to know about the viability of using the fenderwell headers from his Dart. I suggested installing a mustangII crossmember, to eliminate the strut towers Any thoughts?
  22. I`d be willing to bet, there`s a ups driver in Kansas with a nice looking(repaired) california wing on his Z
