It`s really hard to put a set price on the swap. So many things can effect the end cost. such as what engine/drivetrain you go with. I would recomend finding a donor car with a complete running drivetrain,you will have more of the small miscelanious parts, and have parts to sell off for extra cash

If it`s not photo shop, He`s on his way over That`s way too far back to recover with that much weight. He should have plenty of cushion though

what year and models of 240sx`s had the r200 lsd unit? Is the finned cover also an indicator of an lsd in th 240sx, or did they use them on open diff`s also?

the wheelie bars are indeed to put pressure on the front tires. They have cylinders on them to put on pressure until the tires stay hooked, then they release to allow tire to get taller, for higher speed through the traps.

I honestly could not care less about fuel economy.I`m more concerned about hp to weight ratio. I plan on the Z being a "toy" and not a daily driver. I would prefer the DP just for the instant power benefits.

The best way for me to cut weight, is to go on a diet myself. If I get down to 190, that`s 30.lbs. for the car I plan to use aluminum heads,and the msa bumpers and ground effects kit.The only problem with that is, the roll cage will still weigh more than the weight that I save. I guess I`ll just have to build more hp/tq

It may be a carry over from my "mullet" days, but I don`t see anything wrong with 4x4 cars, As long as they are tastfully done. It`s also good to see that you used a 2+2 zx and not a z coupe. I have a friend who has a 68 stingray with 44" monster mudders, and a 427 bbc. He hasn`t driven it for more than 15 years. I also believe that discussions of politics and religion should be left off this board. They are two topics that most people have very passionate feelings/beliefs on. Open mindedness concerning ideas of mechanics and styleing is a complete different ball game. When someones core beliefs about religion or politics is challenged, they have a tendency to get defensive. When defending ones point of view we have a tendency to attack others. As Terry said, I would not want to alienate someone because of a point of view that is mute in an auto related forum. I suspect that many people here feel the way I do on this.

I think what Micheal is going through, is the same anxiety I get near the end of every project I`ve ever started. You start to second guess yourself, wondering if you`ve done everything correctly. Even though I`ve literally completed hundreds of projects,(some big, some little)and I`ve been working on cars for over 18 years now. I still go through this at the end of every job. I think it makes me a better mechanic, because I pay closer attention to detail, and I follow the book. I don`t assume that I know it all, and I`m not afraid to ask questions. As for Johnson size, not everyone with a fast car is lacking in that area(at least that`s what I keep telling myself)
