The big concern should be when the oil level is high enough to reach either the front and rear seal, OR if it is over the pan gasket level. This problem can be compounded when the crank rotates andwhips up the oil. Not only can this airiate the oil which makes it much less effective. It can also force oil past the seals and through the gasket. You are probably better off changing your oil yourself. If you think about it, there is probably a reason these guys are changing oil and not doing the more complicated work on cars.

Rufus, That doesn`t sound too bad. I`ll try to post some pics to give you a better idea of what it is. (edit) There is a link to some pics at the bottom of my sig. In the pics is my 71 chevelle. This body is much heavier than a datsun. Although I haven`t tried it, I do believe that this rottisurie would hold a comlete 280z, including drivetrain and interior. Like I said before, It easily made the 600 mile trip to Alabama with my chevelle, including full interior, glass, doors and decklid. I even had the trunk stuffed full of front suspension pieces. The profile pic is exaclty how the car looked when I rolled it off of the trailer.

We`ve already got a couple inches left on the ground from last week. Tonight they are calling for 4-8"of snow with ice and freezing rain after midnight.

I`m interested in selling mine but it`s probably too large and costly to ship. I really don`t have much of a use for it now since I have a lift in my garage. Mine looks like two very large engine stands that are attached and face each other. The center telescopes for use with larger vehicles and it comes with all of the brackets needed for pre 79 280z`s and 70 to72 chevelles. It is mounted on wheels. In fact i had my 71 chevelle on the rottisurie when I transported it to Alabama 2 1/2 yrs ago. I`ve got 250.00 in materials and would like to recover that when I sell it. Otherwise I`ll keep it next to the garage in case i decide to use it again someday. If you aren`t interested, maybe someone else closer might be. I am willing to deliver for free up to 50 miles or so, but would need to get at least 30 cents a mile(round trip) to cover fuel time and food for the trip especially if it would require an overnight stay.

I`ve often thought of getting a bike like that, but I don`t want to leave my kids fatherless. I have a tendancy to push things to the limit, and I doubt I would be any different on one of those.

So THAT`S my problem?!? I`ll have to wait until the trial lawers get a big class action suit together, and jump on the band wagon.

I am by no means an alarmist, and The only steps I have personally taken to help make myself and my family more secure is to be more observant. I don`t own a gas mask, I don`thave my house wrapped in plastic, and I haven`t really changed my routine since 9/11. You may not think that the detainees are being held for just cause,BUT just maybe they are being held because of information found in their background checks. My brother had an iraqi neighbor that was arrested before 9/11 for having a ficticious hazmat cdl. HHrrrmm... I wonder where he is now?

Take it from me, you will be going through this at some level for the rest of your life. Right now it is your roomates that don`t like what you do, take your money and eat your food, Later it will be you neighbors that don`t like what you do with you house or the car you drive, and peolpe that don`t want to work will be taking money out of you pockets and the food off your table in the form of govornment ENTITLEMENTS. Learn to live and deal with it because it only gets worse.

One of the great things about living in the U.S. is that EVERYTHING I need is right here. I have no need or desire to travel to other countries right now. That may change later after my family and I have seen all that this country has to offer, but for now I will spend my money and time right here. As far a detainment goes, I would MUCH rather see someone(including myself) detained for a few hours to be checked out, than to have another person die at the hands of a terrorist. I am very scepticle about reports of people being detained, but IF someone is detained by airport security or some other public official they should be able to use their original ticket without any problems. HELL I would even suppply their meals. Obviously there are going to be abusive and overzealous screeners, but you can`t scrap the whole system because of a few bad apples. I`ve seen many cases of police officers abusing their powers, but I doubt any reasonable person would suggest disbanning them. Any way you look at it this is still the most free country in the world, and I can`t think of anywhere I would rather live.(Despite what Alec Baldwin and Johnny Depp think)

Since most of us that plan to run coil overs also plan to section the struts. Why not put the top(smaller diameter) strut section from the mister two onto the larger diameter bottom section? Apparently the inside diameter is close since we can use the Mr2 strut cartriges. HHrrrrmmm...I wonder why I never thought of that before?

I`ve been trying to find a cheaper alternative as well. I`m not trying to say that RossC`s are a bad deal, only that I am a cheap bastard. Since I will not be racing in a forum where these things are inspected and have to meet certain specs, it really doesn`t make sense for me to dump a pile of cash when I`m sure I could find another option.
-
Just a thought, if I had... 1)An area the size of California 2)Access to whatever equipement and manpower I need 3)No Police force(inspectors) watching for 8 years I have no doubt that I could hide AT LEAST 100 semi truck loads of ANYTHING where it could never be found.

Someone needs to let the ACLU in on this little secret.
-
I think those of us who have served in the military will have a special appreciation for the list.

I doubt there is anything that could be found on my pc or in my financial records that could even remotely be considered ILLEGAL. If your NOT doing anything wrong.... I really don`t know what liberties we have actually given up. Certainly nothing that has to do with airport security could be considered an infringment on our rights. I have never seen anything in the bill of rights about our "right to fly" The airlines are privately owned companies and have every right to refuse sevice to ANYONE for ANY reason. As far as wire taps go, What could you possibly be worried about "them" hearing you say? So far, the only people arrested or prosecuted other than terror suspects have been drug trafficers and child porographers. I`m not sure where you stand on these issues, but I personally would give up a few rights (even in peace time) to get these people off the streets. BTW... the ACLU is fighting on behalf of those degenerates.

I strongly believe it`s a photoshop job. look at the centerline of the diff cover and compare it to the center of the wheels. Also if you look at the fronts there is no sight of the front lower control arms. for those wheels to trulely fit on that car it would take some serious front suspension modifications. I think the guy photoshopped the wheels onto the car and said it was a phone camera to justify the out of focus look needed to cover up his shody work.

Here are some that I found awhile back. They are very detailed. http://www.aces.edu/~gparmer/articles/flowbench2/

I used to work for an industrial paint shop that used tolulene. I think it was about 3.?? a gallon. The owner is a good friend and will sell to me for that price, but there is no way to ship it.

Not gonna happen to me. I NEVER get hurt.
-
I suppose it`s because the better it tastes, the more likely you are to have someone taste it on a regular basis. BTW.. I`ve had quite a few compliments after drinking Beer and/or Mountain Dew

I was talking to my Mom on the phone this morning about all of the times I got hurt or cut as a kid. She said she would cringe everytime a came in the house yelling..."MOM I`VE GOT SOMETHING FOR YOU TO LOOK AT"
-
Been there done close to that. When I was 5 yrs old, my mom picked me up at the neighbors and put my bike in the trunk of the car. After dinner I went outside and wanted to ride my bike. Since everyone else was still in the house I decided to get it out of the trunk myself. My mistake was pulling on the front wheel and the chain. When the pedal hit the edge of the trunk it rolled my right middle and index fingers into the rear sprocket. When my mom heard blood curdlling screams from outside, she ran to see what was wrong. She tried to get into the tool shed to find a wrench but my dad had locked it before he left for work. The only way for her to get me loose was to roll my fingers the rest of the way around. Even though it was 30 yrs ago, I remember it like it was yesterday. To this day That has to be the worst pain I have ever felt.
-
That does look nice. I personally prefer the more agressive look of the 3.5" cowl hood, but this would have been a definte option when I was still looking.

Yep, this one went to the bone as well. I had to pull the drill bit back just to get my finger out. I went back out to finish after patching myself up, and found some flesh hanging on the end of the drill bit.

Well I`ve managed to injure myself AGAIN. While installing a new window regulator in my Moms van, I managed to drill a 1/4" hole in the end of my middle finger. I was trying to drill out one of the rivets but it kept turning on me. So... being the Einstien that I am, I had the bright idea to put some lateral pressure anganst the back side of the rivet. It worked ALMOST as I had planned. The drill cut right through the rivet and into my finger before I had time to release the trigger on the drill. WHAT A DUMBA$$
